Laurent Bernard is well known for its exquisite chocolates. I am a bit disappointed with the staff who places a glass bottle of Evian on the table without asking. The staff recommends the wine (both red & white) for drinks as the restaurant is having a $10 a glass promotion during Restaurant Week, but we decide to select from the drink menu as my partner cannot take wine.

Laurent's Lemonade
(small : $9.50++, large : $16++)
Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Lime Juice, Brown Sugar, Soda
In the end we share a large jar of lemonade. The drink is quite refreshing and light, with lots of fruits in it.

After serving the drink, the bottle of Evian is removed and water is also served. I kind of feeling the effects of tricks by the restaurant in making customers to order drinks unknowingly. Another disappointment is that complimentary bread is not served during the meal.

Prawn Cocktail with Guacamole of Avocado

Tomato salsa with shallot and olive oil
The Guacamole has a bit too sour in taste, which could be a bit too much lemon juice.

Traditional Lobster Bisque

With Aioli, gruyere & croutons
There is a $10++ topup for this dish. The soup is very thick and creamy. One can feel the full bodied taste in the soup.

Crispy Duck Leg Confit with Orange Zest Sauce

Sautéed potatoes with caramelized onion
The duck skin is not crispy at all. The meat is quite moist and tender, which leads to a thought if the dish is prepared in advance and kept in warmer as the plate is rather hot during serving.

Mediterranean medley of vegetables “Ratatouille”
The fish is also served in a rather hot plate. The fish is moist and juicy.

Chocolate Tart

With a layer of molten chocolate on top, a solid chocolate in the middle and ending with a solid biscuit at the bottom, it is an awesome dessert to have.

Total bill is $113 for 2 persons. Overall the food is a bit on the average side. The place is quite nice and relax.

Neat little store tucked away near Temasek Club. This cafe is not great for vegetarians for meals, however their dessert selection is quite nice. There is ice cream, sorbet, and tons and tons of chocolate. The lemonade may look expensive, but it is really quite an experience with all sorts of cut up citrus fruits. The chocolate tart is smooth and creamy, but not overly rich.

I have been a fan of Laurent Bernard cakes like their popular Chocolate Tart and Blackforest as they have very smooth texture and i can taste the high-quality ingredients they used. Recently, they launched a new cake called 'Caramang' and their description of 'Combination of Blond Chocolate, Coconut and Mango, for exotic sensations and indulge your palate' piqued my interest to try it.The cake comes with a dainty mango macaron shell on top on the cake. I recommend you to dine-in at their outlet

The cake comes with a dainty mango macaron shell on top on the cake. I recommend you to dine-in at their outlet as the outer chocolate layer of the cake melts very easily. The macaron shell is really good as it is crispy on the outside and has a nice chew on the inside. The chocolate on the outer layer of the cake tasted like hazelnut chocolate and is very smooth.

Inside, the cake comprises of many layers. The yellow part of the cake is very dense and has a strong caramel taste with a hint of mango flavour. The white part are actually fragrant coconut cake. I can taste the desiccated coconut used in it. There is also a layer of chocolate praline which i like a lot. The layers taste good on it own but even better when you eat them all together as their different taste and texture complement one another very well.

This is a nice option if you like chocolate but do not crave for too rich chocolate taste. Though it can be quite pricey being $10.50 a piece, the quality of ingredients they used justify the cost. Love it!

This delectable chocolate cake is really lovely and delicious. It is not too sweet or overly rich, just at the correct texture and is very smooth, fine and really creamy. The dark chocolate used in it is very fragrant and slight bitterness in it. The chocolate cream is also very smooth and blend in really well with the dark chocolate sponge cake. Great to have it with a cup of their preimum coffee.

Headed to Laurent Bernard Chocolatier to a nice afternoon out with my friend. We ordered the Black Forest Cake which has very delicious ganache on the top layer. The chocolate has a very rich chocolate and cream taste and the chocolate mousse on its first layer just made it even more appetizing. There is also a layer of chocolate sponge cake which is soft and moist and is flavored with cherries, giving it a sweet cherry flavoured taste, Yums!

The chocolate pie and rum and raisin souffle are the 2 desserts we decided to try out. Well, the chocolate souffle is the more famous one but as we are already having the chocolate pie, i decided to have something different. But rum&raisin souffle is super good. The souffle is warm, moist and soft. Delicious thing. The chocolate is not too bitter nor sweet. The pie gives it a different texture. We had tea and icecream as well. They are fine. But the desserts are die for! For those without a car(like us) and finds this place a little troublesome, they have another outlet at clarke quay(i think). You can always check it out on their website.
The environment is good. Quiet with just 3 tables of people. Good place to chillout and have a wonderful evening there.
