I went for the Strawberry-Tofu Cake (SGD5.00) - a soft slab of sweet pastry with a chocolate topping and real strawberries. It was a little sweet, and the texture was a cross between meringue and marshmallows. The red gooey strawberry syrup sauce around the cake added a touch of color and sweetness to the already saccharine dessert.

Now the long-awaited Rainbow Cake (SGD7.00) - I could almost smell its chiffony aroma as I am posting this picture now! This chocolate-coated delicacy was soft, and every melt-in-your-mouth layer was tasty. It was not too sweet, but retained a fragrance that was a cross between butter, chiffon and fruits amongst the rich flavor of cream. I loved it.

My colleague and newfound friend had The Club Burger (SGD$19.00) - tender strips of smokey beef between crusty bread and served with crispy fries. He said it was a scrumptious burger.

It was not bad, quite tasty actually. However, Le Chocolat Cafe may want to consider giving a different flavour to each different coloured layer - just to make this cake more premium and exceed customers' expectations!

I made a trip down to Le Chocolat Cafe after seeing someone's fb post with this pretty looking rainbow cake. It may sound very strange, but because it's so pretty, I want to try it. But to be fair, Le Chocolate do serve very good chocolate cake.

Therefore my advise is that if you visit them, just admire the rainbow cake from the display and go for their other cakes.

Really enjoy visiting this restaurant as the environment of it is quite and very comfortable. Most of the staffs here are very friendly and approachable. First time trying their rainbow cake and was not really happy with it. Other than the super nice and colourful appearance that impress me, the cake is abit too tough in texture and not much taste can be found from it. Morever, the price is high as well.

Dessert never fails to brighten up my day. I have ordered a Molten chocolate from Le Chocolate Café By the Club. The chocolate will ooze out but the chocolate portion is just nice neither too much nor too little. The chocolate cake is hot plus the chilly ice cream and the fresh strawberry fruit, the whole dish is heavenly.

A friend ordered a piece of Banana Chocolate Cake and it cost $7++, I made a try and didn't like the taste of it. The cake sort of tasted with some banana essence instead of the real stuff and not worth the price we paid for it. The cheese cake were quite okay instead.

Le Chocolat is one of those cafes that is attractive but do not leave much of an impression. I've passed by Le Chocolat many a times but did not ever felt compelled to enter. Le Chocolat is one of those cafes that is attractive but do not leave much of an impression. I've passed by Le Chocolat many a times but did not ever felt compelled to enter. Monday evening found me sitting in Le Chocolat because I was at Ann Siang Hill to run an errand and the shop owners were out for dinner and I was starving, dinner was waiting at home, and K Ki closes at 7pm. Boyfriend also needs the loo urgently and round the corner sits nonchalantly, Le Chocolat.

As per the couple of reviews that is dotted around the World Wide Web, Le Chocolat is great for "chillaxing" but good for little else. I walked in thinking the place will be cloaked in all-things chocolatey but I didn't catch a whiff of cocoa. Peering into the glass display of cakes, I saw some variety of cheesecakes and chocolate cakes, but they looked... unpolished and thus visually unappetizing.

There was little variety in the very plain menu - some sandwiches, a few drinks. I wanted a quick bite, nothing too filling and a board placed on the floor told us there is a September promotion for pizzas going on at $10 so we ordered a meat lovers.

I was running on short circuit because it has been a long day. Also, a ravenous young lady is a crazy sword-wielding woman. The 2 staff were nervously checking on the pizza every few minutes but it was taking forever to get cooked. We were too hungry so we went back and ordered a blueberry cheesecake, and even that, took a while to come.

To their credit, the cheesecake arrived well-presented and tasted like.. cheesecake.

The pizza was their saving grace. There was a generous amount of chicken chunks, bacon and cheese in there - how can anything with bacon in them be any less than good?! Though a little greasy, the pizza had a chewy texture, which when paired with the satisfying crunch of the thin, crisp base, and salty bacon made for a really savoury pizza that we approve of.

The food at Le Chocolat Cafe may not be fantastic, but it is located in a very quiet neighbourhood with very nice atmosphere, so it is still very recommended for an unhurried, relaxing, and private catch-up with a girlfriend over a cuppa, although much is left to be desired when it comes to waiting time, the food variety, and the slightly bruised cakes sitting in the display.
