This stall is located inside Kovan Hougang Market & Food Centre..I like the packet nasi lemak at this stall, the nice has nice strong coconut taste, the chiili sauce is sweet and spicy enough and the fish inside is fresh.. The nasi lemak consisted of a fish fillet, cucumber, coconut rice, some anchovies with peanuts and a fish otah. The fish otah was mildly spicy and tasted alright. The anchovies were very dark in colour, probably due to the oil that they were deep fried in. The fish fillet was the worst tasting ingredient and I did not manage to finish it. The chilli was sweet and moderately spicy and went well with the rice. The rice had no much lemak fragrance and tasted average. Overall, it is not worth a try.…Read More

I ordered 100 pieces of fish and fish head otah for my Grandma's birthday. The minced fish paste wrapped very nice in the coconut leaves and flame grilled to give it the taste and smell. All tasted very fresh too. The taste was okay, not very spicy so do not need those non-spicy one for people that do not eat spicy foods. All of us love it and think it is nice.Recommended.…Read More

I am a crazy fan of any type of Otah and among all, my favourite has always been the banana leaf otah from Lee Wee & Brothers' Otah. It is bigger in size and more to eat. I can taste a few chunky fish meat embedded in the otah mixture. The level of spiciness is just right, it is good even for those that do not take spicy foods. Theses spicy otah paste from this stall always may me crave for spicy dishes even though i am not too good in having spicy dishes. These basic fish paste otah is not as spicy as compared to most places otah and the fish paste used is very fresh and fragrant. Whenever I am at Kovan food centre, I will be sure to order the otah. The otah by Lee Wee & Brothers' is consistently tasty on all the visits that I made to the stall. It is no exception yesterday when I ordered the prawn otah. The otah is spicy and flavourful and is very tasty with the fresh prawns used for the otah. This stall has been around for quite a while and i have yet to have a chance to try it out. I ever tried their vegetarian nasi lemak (catered for our outdoor events previously) I heard that their otah are nice, especially the fish head otah. Was searching for sambal stingray at this food centre but failed to find any stall selling it. However, we saw this stall selling assam fish and thought of trying since we are craving for some fish dish.(:It was the ready type that only requires heat up, and we waited around 10mins for it.Each costs $2.40 and was quite a small portion. But we did not regret buying it.(:The fish was well marinated and richly flavoured with the assam and the assam sauce in it was a lot.It was not too spicy, with a tinge of sourness. My sister used to get me Lee Wee & Brothers' Otah whenever I go her house for a visit. It is no exception yesterday when I went her house. She got the prawn and squid otah from the stall’s outlet at Kovan which is just a few blocks away. Their otah is really value for money with a few small pieces of prawns (for the prawn otah) and squids (for the squid otah) within the otah itself.
