Anyway, LeNu Beer Noodles Bar serves authentic Taiwanese-style beef noodles, one of the symbolic dishes of the Taiwanese food scene. It is a restaurant simple in style and menu; I easily picked out what I wanted to eat. They serve beef meat, beef brisket, wagyu beef noodles etc, and one could have the choice of broad or thin noodles as well as type of soup base.

The Braised Beef Combination Noodles (SGD$13.90) consists of brisket, tendon and shank, so one could have the best of all worlds. The broad noodles and spicy soup base was being chosen for this order. The soup had a distinctive "mala" (numb spiciness) flavour to it, but was not that spicy. The broad noodles were chewy but a tad hard IMHO. The beef parts were heavenly - so melty and succulent, disintegrating richly in the mouth readily.

My Braised Beef Brisket Noodles (SGD$10.90) with the original soup base was awesome! The strands of noodles were well-textured with a springy bite to it. The broth was rich in flavour - sweetness of the beef and some herbs. The beef brisket was soft and tender; and the overall portion was generous so it made the price all worth it. No wonder even the group of Caucasian patrons sitting next to me held nothing but praise (one of them recommended this place to the other 4, as far I could gather from their conversation).

Was at Bugis Junction and wanted to have lunch, but kinda bored with the dining options there. Spotted a restaurant called LeNu, which offers Taiwan-style noodle. LeNu literally means 'happy cow' in Chinese haha. There's no service charge and GST here, so upon arrival, we will be given an order sheet, and we're required to give it to the cashier and make payment at the counter. Braised Beef Shank Noodle - $8.90
I had my meal come with thin noodle in authentic braised beef soup. The soup had a fragrant herbs scent. According to what's written in the menu, the beef used has been bruised for at least 3 hours, which results in the tenderness of it. Beef shank might not be a popular type of beef meat, since it somewhat had a tough texture, but LeNu's beef shank was meaty and tender. The noodle was just okay with the right springiness.

Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Now I know where to have authentic Taiwanese noodle. Obviously will return soon.

New culinary concept from the Paradise Group, Lenu is promoted as a Taiwanese beef noodle bar. Unpretentious and laid back vibe. Nice to have piping hot, generous portions of beef noodles served at the table without having to pay service charge. The beef shank noodles are tasty, with three thick, tender and flavourful slices of good quality shank. Opt for the thin noodles or rice noodles. Thick noodles resemble fettuccine. Chilli dip is provided but the beef is tasty enough to do without it.
