The FoodI ordered the fishball noodles served with 7 fishballs with soup and noodles. The fishballs here were much bigger and nicely flavoured, smooth, bouncy and springy and most important very fresh. As for the noodles are slightly soggy and seem over cooked. The chilly was sweet and spicy and blended well with the noodles. The PriceReasonably priced at $5.00 per bowl for food court price.OverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

It aint easy to stand out among the stalls of selling the same stuff, and Li Xin did it.Many people would not have 'meekia' (angel hair like noodles) with soup base as the soup may linger this starchy taste. But not in Li Xin. The soup was clear with a light fishball flavour. Noodles was tangy. Each serving accompanied with 6 big, round fishballs. You could taste the fish literally in every bite. Personally i liked to add some chilli padi into the soup to spice it up.

Whenever I feel like having a bowl of really nice dry chinese noodles, the version here at Li Xing will certainly be able to impress me. Especially love to eat their dry mee poh, which is very chewy and smooth in texture. The seasoning sauce used in tossing the mee poh is very tasty and full of the nice fragrant from the generous amount of sesame oil added to it. Also love those chopped spring onions topped on it which also enhance the taste of the mee poh as well .

Li Xin's fishballs are made twice daily with yellowtail and kept chilled in cold water but never frozen. This is to keep the fishball soft and bouncy. Generous in its serving of fishball, this stall sells teochew styled fishball noodle. Customers can choose from a range of noodles such as yellow noodles, bee hoon, kuay teow etc. The chili is spicy and for those who cannot take spicy food should avoid adding the chili in as a small amount is already very spicy. Its fishball noodles are chewy and large in size, a pleasant treat for fishball noodles lovers.

Remember the Steven Chow show 食神 where he, Karen Mok and the triad boss sat at the table looking at their fishballs bouncing up and down the table?

Well, those fishballs are bouncing happily at 112 Katong.

One chopstick handling flaw can literally send your fishball bouncing across the table onto the floor. (It is true and I have seen that happen with my own eyes). The stall highlights that the fishballs are made fresh with yellowtail, but really, who can tell? But I have seen the uncle mixing the paste at the stall when they first started at 112. Nowadays I guess they make them off-site to cater to the larger quantity required.

The usual selection of noodles are cooked nicely too and did not let down the meal. They are a bit on the pricey side (Food Republic Somerset 313 prices) but hey, pay for quality people!

The other stall I can remember that compares with them is the one at Orchard Ion, but I still prefer this one.

WOA: Eat your fishballs with the chili padi/soy sauce. Shiok!

Popular for their fish balls, I decided to try it out with the recommendation from my colleague. First impression was really good as the fish balls look really big and clear white in colour. After first bite, I have suddently changed my positive thing of these fish balls. They are chewy but I still feel the texture can be more fine and I also think that there are some 'fish sting' smell in it. Not really have that very fresh taste, which I thought so earlier.

Most of the time, I do not really pay particular attention on the fishball when I eat fishball noodle. I seem to forget that they should be the 'main character' instead of the noodle. This fishball that I tasted at this foodcourt made me realise that most of the fishball I eat at other place seem to be the same . But this fishball made such a difference that drew my attention. The bowl of fishball noodle does not come cheap ($4.50) but every bowl come with 6 huge fishballs , so I think is worth the money. The condiment used for the sauce was great too. The saltiness and sweetness complement the noodle well. I already went back for a few times and I am still LOVING IT.
