first time trying this loh mei with my family for dinner, this cost about $4, and there's also the $6 or $8 set, it consists of pork, pig skin, chicken wing, veg, tau pok and other etc with fermented bean curd sauce. rice cost extra of 50cents. heard from my parents that this is like one of the last stall in singapore, really dunno if its true or not, but at least you can find it at chinatown (:if you are eating this dish with a group, advice from my dad is to buy individual portions, the $4 set instead of the $8 one, cause they will give lesser in the $8 set compare to buying more $4 set itself Read More

:)I believe this is the only Loh Mei stall in Singapore at People Park Cooked Food Centre that caters this special dish.Loh Mei also known as Lo Kai Yik (stewed chicken wings in Cantonese)Assorted ingredients such as stewed chicken wings (main ingredient) with cuttlefish, mushroom, braised pork, fish cakes, fried bean curd and gizzards are cooked together. Your selected ingredients are put into a metal pot with added fresh green spinach and long fried beancurd topped with pre-prepared special fermented bean paste sauce. Upon boiling, the dish is transferred into a mini metal work and served by itself or with rice or egg noodles. You can select the choice of ingredients to suit your palate.Price ranging from $4, $6 and $8.The soup has an unusual colour and many people are taken aback of the colouring. Used to be very concentrated but over the years, the gravy has become more diluted. This is the $6.00 portion of Loh Mei for take-away.Read More

The FoodI ordered the Loh Mei with special fermented bean curd for their soup which adds a very unique taste and flavour. The soup seems quite diluted, lesser punch in it and a very mild taste.Inside the soup have pork skin, cuttlefish, pork belly, mid chicken wing, one tau pok, half a piece of mushroom, 2 pcs dry beancurd and few vegetables. The PriceReasonably priced at $4.50 with rice OverallI will not come back again and not recommended to try thisRead More

Went it work at Chinatown, was wondering what great food to try here. I saw this stall with advertisement and think the food was special. Thus, I decided to try it. Well, the soup base is nice as it so special that I never seem to try it before with the "Tao Yi " and many other ingredient in it. They sell with with noodle and rice . Well, I realized that the noodle I ordered was more like Maggie mee but with the soup and ingredient , it doesn't anymore n I enjoy it. The environment tis slightly crowed during my luch hour at 12pm but I still managed to find a seat near the stall. The services nice as the auntie greet everyone with a smile. Overall, the price is reasonable.Read More
