Came to Lola's Cafe for brunch wth two of my friends. When we came, the place was packed so we had to queue. They have a machine on the spot for you to get your queue number and once there is a table, they will give you a call. They also would ask if you would not mind the sofa seat which is actually the one you can see in the picture. Caramelized earl grey banana custard tart: I shared this with 2 other friends and we thought it was too small, probably too nice. But I think if we were to consume it on our own it would have been just nice. I like the way the caramel on the top had that crunch and it complemented the earlgrey custard very very well. Yum! I passed by Kovan MRT and decided to drop by Lola's cafe and get some desserts. I ordered takeaway several Caramelized Banana Earl Grey Tarts, which costs $4.50 each. Quite pricey for the size of the tart which is rather small, but I do like it a lot having tried it once previously. The pistachios on top of the tart were crunchy, and I particularly like the slight earl grey taste, together with caramelized bananas.

Lola’s café is situated off Simon Road and is relatively simple café that is less pretentious than many new upstarts. The coffee in Lola’s café seemed really popular and we had a cappuccino and latte. The cappuccino was good. The coffee was well-brewed. The latte however came across as slightly too milky but still pretty good. We had a chocolately looking donut which was pretty decent. Hardcore chocolate fans would surely love this.
