&Made is a restaurant co-created by 3-star Michelin Chef, Bruno Menard and Deliciae Hospitality Management. It aims to reinvent informal food such as burgers and salads and bring diners a higher quality experience.
&Made also collaborates with L'Entrecote to serve up their steak in the restaurant. Havingheard positive reviews of Steak Frites at L'Entrecote, we decided to give this place a try.

As &Made highly recommends The "B" Burger ($19), my friend ordered that. It was their most popular burger that promises a juicy patty on the menu. The burger is served alongside with fries. We were disappointed that the fries were served cold. The burger was alright but not fantastic. The portion was on the small side relative to the price of the dish. We felt that for the price, it was not very worth it.

The steak came nicely sliced in pieces. We found that the order was more cooked than we had ordered it. The medium rare was more like a medium well and the medium well was done cooked. We found the meat not as tender as we had hoped for it to be.

Our friend G has a sudden burger cravings. So after scouring the web for artisan burger in Singapore, &Made name keep popping up. To be honest, this is our second choice, however as the first choice establishment closes on Sunday, we move on next on the list. As &Made does not take reservation, we decided to come in early, just in case there are a queue. Luckily, there was no queue and we were seated immediately.

G & I decided to order The 3 Little Pigs ($23), Little Devil ordered The Rossini ($28), G's hubby, 'H' ordered The 'B' Burger Lunch Set and Little C have Mini Beef Cheeseburger($10).

The 3 Little Pigs are made from combination of pork fillet, bacon and chorizo patty. Inspired by Japanese flavour, it is topped with spicy yuzu-kosho mayonnaise, shitake and cabbage. The patty is tender, juicy and quite generous in size. While the spicy yuzu mayonnaise give a subtle kick when you bite into the burger. The brioche bun has the nice texture and flavour to complement the burger. This pork burger is definitely comparable the beef counterpart. Each of the burger come with fries and homemade BBQ Sauce.

LD's Rossini is actually in a different class compare to ours. The dry aged beef patties are topped with French pan seared foie gras. It might look very simple but when you bit into it, the perfectly cooked foie gras just melts in your mouth and become the delicious creamy sauce for the beef patties. A definite must try, Yummy!!!

For the set lunch, it came with salad and sundae. The salad is quite a simple garden salad with a vinaigrette dressing. The comment from H about his burger is quite good, while little C enjoyed her Mini Cheeseburger. The sundaes are delicious, as both sundaes are polished clean by the father and daughter.

While the burgers are delicious and a must try, there are consistency need to be address. We actually send back two of the fries as it were overcooked. Taste wise, it is quite ordinary and lose its crispiness before the end of our meal. The &made BBQ sauce does help on enhance the flavour though.

The drinks can be on the pricey side, however the taste is quite good especially on the &Made Lemonade ($8) and Iced Choco Coffee ($8).

The service side needed some improvement. Although the service staff are polite, it seems they are out of their depth and inexperienced. When we want to change the drink in the set menu, different staff give different answer on the additional charge that we need to pay. When we asked for ketchup from one of the service staff that deliver the burger, he answered “we don't serve ketchup, we only have homemade tomato sauce!” A very informative answer but might lead to a misunderstanding such as putting down the customer.

Ambiance of the restaurant is French, bright, fun and playful. My first impression remind me of one of the scene from the Movie Moulin Rouge (starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor). There are the options of indoor and outdoor seating as well.

Overall, we really enjoy our dining experience with Chef Bruno burgers creation. We just hope that it can be more consistent in its delivery and service. We look forward to our next visit here to try his other creation such as his waffle and desserts. Cheers!!

I must say, the burgers are of good quality. They were done medium-rare, and the meat is juicy and flavourful, unlike many other burger places. The cheese and other toppings were also more premium. The NY Bacon comes with a flavoured mayonnaise, which I enjoyed thoroughly. Overall, I did enjoy the burgers. The truffle fries were well-perfumed with the truffle oil, and were very enjoyable.

In total, we spent $50 for 2 burgers, which I think is pretty unreasonable given that they were of average size, even though this is in Orchard Rd. Will not be returning, as there are many other burger places (like De Burg, Relish, Handburger, etc.) that are more sensibly priced, if not as good.

&MADE Fries comes in a variety of flavours and I like their Garlic and Vinegar version! But the best thing is actually their very own BBQ Sauce which is definitely not available else where!

Chunky sauces are the best! All of us asked for several servings cause it is just so addictive!

The other items I would recommend are the Toastoos which are “New Generation Sandwich made with French Buckwheat Crepes”. I manage to sneak bites of my friends’ and the crispy exterior and gooey yummy cheesy interior had me going “OMGGG WHY DIDN’T I ORDER THIS!”

Considering that you are eating food items hand-crafted by a Michelin Chef, prices for this casual dining restaurant is pretty reasonable where you can get your mains for less than $20!

The burger is yummy! Would go back to try other burgers after tasting this – traditional dry aged beef patty served with smoked bacon strips, with oozing mayonnaise, tomato, melting cheddar cheese, accompanied with crunchy lettuce and pickled cucumber. A beautiful calorific mess, with a pile of shoestring fries that one shouldn’t try to finish for health reasons; confirm food coma after from all that carbs!

It was exciting because this establishment was opened by the first ever Michelin-starred chef that was to be based in Singapore permanently. The concept was a winning recipe- a well accredited chef with a convenient and accessible location, serving up comfort foods of gourmet burgers, fries, toastoos and interesting desserts. This burger bistro soon found its fans who raved over the amazing beef patties and detractors who thought it was overrated. 6 months later after all the excitement had died down, I decided to make a trip down myself to see what the fuss was all about.

The design of the place was charming and whimsical. I immediately warmed up to the low-hanging light bulbs, graffiti sticker-ed glass windows and bold colours of blacks and reds used to spruce up the decor. The feel was inviting, casual and relaxed with a chorus of 'Welcome!' by the chefs in the open concept kitchen each time a new customer walked in.

The 3 Little Pigs $23

The burgers come served in a platter with fries and homemade &MADE BBQ sauce dip. Top up an additional $3 for truffle fries which we both could not resist doing so.

Layers of shitake mushrooms, Japanese cabbage, Shibazuke pickles with a thick patty of bacon, pork filet and chorizo that was amazingly moist and tender, this burger had some great flavours going for it. And bringing it to the next level was the yuzu-kosho mayo dressing that tied it all together. Loved the toasted buns that was fluffy and crisp all at the same time. Truly memorable.

DD $22

Unaccustomed to not seeing my duck leg confit not in the form of a duck leg, this burger initially did not look too enticing especially since it appeared quite flat compared to The 3 Little Pigs. Nonetheless, I took a bite and was quite impressed. The red cabbage pickles were so crunchy and fresh, sweet shredded green apples, the citrusy green pepper lime mayo and of course that tender saltiness of the duck confit. Very interesting blend of textures. Very unique.

White Chocolate $12

The trick to eating this sundae is to use the tall spoon provided to dig right to the bottom of the cup. Much like a trifle, you need to get a bit of all the layers for that complete sugar rush sensation. A clever use of sweet and sour, the white chocolate sauce was paired off with a passion fruit coulis that tapered off so well that even those who may find white chocolate a tad too sweet, can and will finish this sundae. Topped with the caramelized coconut shavings, this dessert had a nice Hawaiian feel to it.

Hot Caramel Lava Cake $15

The menu states that this lava cake will take 15 min to prepare. But dont let that deter you even if you were in a rush. Just order it when you are almost done with your burger and it should arrive as you are about to begin digesting your food.

Coupled with a little theatrics, the waiter will cut the cake for you at your table so that you can watch that thick caramel sauce ooze out. And after you try it, chocolate lava cakes would have become a thing of the past because this hot caramel lava cake just changes the whole game. The cloyingly sweet caramel sauce was still warm and I ended up eating my nougatine ice-cream with it because it was just so good. I did find the cake to be a little too dense though and you are definitely better off sharing this one or it might be too much towards the end.

Overall, &MADE certainly exceeded my expectations. The service was flawless, with regular changes of serviettes and cutlery between courses and checks to make sure we were happy with the food. A feel good place with comfort food and great service- I am definitely sold.

Had been craving for a good burger for a long, long time and i really hoped to satisfy that craving here, especially after the reviews i heard about this place! We were still slightly full, and were gonna get plenty more grub after this stop, so we were merely gonna just get one burger for the both of us. I am a huge fan of foie gras, and thus, we were definitely going to get the rossini($28). We also went for the truffle fries and had to top up $3.

There was a guy walking around and talking to the customers and i would guess that he was Bruno Menard but we didn't get a confirmation. I didn't really feel at ease in this place because all the waiters seemed to give us a look. I don't know if it is because i'm too sensitive but they seemed to mind that we weren't exactly ordering a lot and spending lotsa money. Nonetheless, we weren't going to let this affect our night and our dinner!

The burger came after a short wait and we couldn't wait to dig in! I cut a small piece of the dry aged beef patty to try first and it wasn't very amazing so i was quite disappointed! It couldn't compare to the one i had @ Prive a couple months back! The patty was really juicy! However, when i cut into the foie gras and put it into my mouth, i was brought to heaven! And they were extremely generous to give such a huge, fat piece! It was exceptionally creamy and smooth! Just like a knob of butter! Although the beef wasn't fantastic, when paired together with the foie gras, it was truly a match made in heaven! I truly enjoyed every mouth i had.

There was a tinge of truffle oil on every single fry, and yet the smell wasn't overpowering!

I would definitely be back again for the burger although i hope that the people there would be more friendly the next time i'm there!

It goes without saying that what drew me (along with many other Singaporeans before me) to &Made was the fact that its owner is three Michelin-starred celebrity chef, Bruno Menard. Its price point, averaging around the low-20s, seemed too reasonable to be true. Besides, having made numerous "Best Burgers in Singapore" lists, it looked like a foolproof bet for dinner on a Friday evening.

I really wanted to like it.

Osmanthus Sancha Iced Tea, $6.00 - Things didn't get off to a great start. Waiting in line for 15 minutes at a crowded restaurant in town for dinner on Fridays is perfectly understandable. Waiting 30 minutes for your food to arrive after placing your order, however, isn't. I was so hungry I finished every last drop of my tea before my burger even arrived. At least the tea wasn't diluted, thanks to the smart move of replacing ice cubes with cubes of frozen tea.

Throughout the half-hour wait for our food, my dining companion repeatedly said "The food had better be damn delicious", each time in an increasingly menacing tone.

The Lamb, $25.00 - Comprising a lamb patty spiced with mint and coriander, then topped with a lime pickle mayonnaise and curried raisin onion compote, all sandwiched between two halves of a buttered brioche bun, there's no denying that The Lamb smelt fantastic. I took a bite of the patty, which resembled a giant meatball, and rather liked how the spices toned down the usually gamey taste of lamb. Texture-wise it was a little tough though.

There's a distinctly Indian influence to this dish, and a Google search reveals that mint and coriander are spices used in a minced lamb curry dish called kheema, which originates from Hyderabad. My friend found it difficult to finish the burger because it was too rich, but I suppose that's a happy problem for some.

The 'B' Burger, $19.00 - The rather unappetizing descriptor used for the beef patties served at &Made is "dry-aged", which led me to imagine a wrinkly piece of cardboard. The actual process of "dry-aging" doesn't actually sound much better, given that it involves eeky stuff like enzymes and fungi. Sorry, biology was a fail for me so you can read 'bout this shizz yerself on Wiki. The beef commonly available in supermarkets undergoes the process of wet-aging, which is much faster and more cost-effective than having the beef undergo dry-aging. What eventually results from dry-aging, though, is beef that's much more tender and flavorful than wet-aged beef. Moreover, according to Wikipedia, " only the higher grades of meat can be dry aged, as the process requires meat with a large, evenly distributed fat content".

Served with caramelized onions, Comté cheese and, to quote the menu, "amazingly delicious" caper and garlic mayonnaise, this burger was a letdown. The beef patty, purportedly the pièce de résistance, was so dry that I literally thumped my chest a couple times so it could go down easier. It's a reflex action la, don't question its effectiveness. As for the rest of the components - it may be hard to go wrong with cheese and onions on beef, but the brioche bun, though soft, was over-buttered. This was at best a mediocre burger.

Truffle Fries, additional $3 with any house burger - While waiting for our food to be served, the adjacent table's order for truffle fries arrived and I caught a whiff of the familiar gasoline smell as it passed me by. Naturally this fanned my anticipation (NOT TO MENTION HUNGER) for my own order of fries. Unfortunately the fries I was served contained no discernible trace of truffle. When I stopped a waiter and gestured at the fries, he confirmed that they were truffle-flavoured. By then I was so ravenous I wasn't sure if my taste buds were playing tricks on me, so I left it at that. In the event that no mistake had been made with my order, this would be the blandest truffle fries that I've ever tasted.

I guess it's obvious from my review that I won't be returning to &Made anytime in the near future. Though the maître-d's attentiveness and prompt service merits a mention, the long wait for food at much hyped-about eateries is justifiable only if the food manages to live up to its hype. If I'm looking to spend my money on food that's lacklustre, I'm going to go somewhere that serves it fast.

The ‘B’ Burger [Dry aged beef patty w caramelized onion, French Comte cheese, caper & garlic mayo] ($19) – Sorry for the lousy photo but this may very well be the answer to my call for the X factor. A mandatory way of preparing burgers with cheese and onions, my friend was a burger convert after having The ‘B’. The cheese was simply perfection. A simple but well-executed burger. If you’re a foie gras fan like myself, you can top up an additional $8 for a slab on your ‘B’ Burger! This will be my pick the next time round.

I've heard from somewhere that &made was named so as to sound like the word 'homemade' in a french accent, after it's French creator. Well, being a restaurant of celebrity chef Bruno Mernard, I wanted to see if it was really all that great, so when my friend wanted to meet up for lunch around the area, I volunteered &made.

The decor of the place is a mix of modern and quirky, with colour tones of red, black and white. We were seated at the far end of the restaurant, so getting the attention of the servers' was alittle hard, even though there wasn't much of a crowd, but when we did get their attention they were attentive and enthusiastic to serve us.

My friend, being the salmon fanatic that she is, got the Honey Salmon burger, which was basically seared salmon with a honey mustard, dill and tatar sauce, while me, being a nuisance, decided to create my own burger. I chose a beef patty and paired it with shitake mushrooms and a fried egg, as I had had great breakfast burgers before with beautiful sunny-side-ups and I had hoped to recreate that experience. All the burgers on the menu came with a side of fries, which meant that my friend got to have fries while I didn't, but that was fine.

Our burgers arrived relatively quickly, and they definitely looked good.

The Honey Salmon burger, which looked great and according to my friend, yummy! (although she does like anything salmon so we don't know how accurate her judgement is.) She also kept munching on the fries, and she's rather picky about carbs, so it must mean that they were good- thick and well fried, but soft and still potato-y when you bite into it.

As for my burger, well... I'm undecided. First things first, my egg was NOT a sunny-side-up. This might have been a misunderstanding on my part, as fried eggs (as I belatedly realised) are not necessarily sunny-side-ups. However, I had expected one so I was rather disappointed. The mushrooms were done well though, with the earthy taste coming through nicely, and the beef patty was fine- but not amazing. It was seasoned well and it wasn't too well done too, but I felt it wasn't very juicy, neither was it super flavourful.

All in all, while the presentation was good and the burgers weren't bad, they weren't amazing either? My burger was $17, which I felt was okay for the reputation and ambience, but again, I probably will not be coming back :/

The Parisian-style steak house has kept true to its origins in France nearly a century ago - having just 1 main course on the menu, leaving you with only the battle to pick your choice of starters and/or desserts.

L'Entrecôte Express' plat du jour aka. featured dish of Entrecôte Steak uses only premium cuts of beef prepared to your choice of doneness and the special thing about the steak - it's lavishly covered with the secret recipe sauce that is proclaimed legend-wait for it-dary!

Trimmed Entrecôte Steak - $29.90

The steak was served all sliced and ready to eat. Just seeing that nice warm pinkish cast to the meat, the chef has got to really know his meat temperatures - it was medium tending towards medium rare, tender and juicy. Especially when eaten with the butter-based sauce which was a flavour explosion on its own. Primary flavours that lingered on the palate were butter and a hint of mushroom. Plated alongside the steak was a very generous portion of golden fries, great eaten with the sauce as a dip.

Did You Know
The words in French to ask for the doneness of your steak:
bleu (rare), saignant (medium rare), a point (medium) or bien cuit (well done)

It was definitely a meal that widened my scope when it comes to steaks. The sauce was indeed nice, but having a premium cut of beef sitting so deep in sauce is just not my thing. Steak lovers who place a lot emphasis on their steak sauces should really go try it out though!

P.S. Just deviating slightly from L'Entrecôte Express, The Lamb burger from &MADE which my colleague had. Awe-inspiring right? A small introduction to the world of gourmet burgers and 3 Michelin stars standards.

&Made / L'Entrecôte Express serves up a pretty decent burger. The patty itself was quite thick and flavourful with less of fillers and more of the beefy taste - great job! The sesame seeds also accentuated the taste. The melted cheese was delicious and everything blended well to make a pretty delicious burger. A little steep at $19 though, although that comes as a set with fries and BBQ sauce.

It was a good portion for me despite me being very hungry. Beef patty was not bad + together with the dressing, caramelized onion, etc = yummilicious! I also quite enjoyed the fries that comes with it. And can even choose from quite a few kinds!

Passed by &Made and dropped by to try their desserts as I saw a picture of their Lollipop Waffle before and it looks great. The lollipop waffle is shaped like a long leaf, and comes with 3 small tubs of caramel, white chocolate, and dark chocolate sauce to go with it. Presentation was great, waffle looks lovely; but taste-wise, not impressive, it's really just plain waffle dipped with different sauces. Recommended for those who likes pretty desserts though.
