MakeShake is located at the basement of City Square Mall. It has a small sit down area where one can enjoy a sip of the yummy milkshake while people watching. I decided to go for my all time favourite blend of Strawberry and Banana milkshake. I like how the milkshake is not overly sweet and creamy. It still has a trace of the distinct fruity flavours. Every sip of it also comes with bites of the fruits which was quite delectable to the palate.

I had make shake with my siblings!! i just had a sudden craving for milk shake and chance upon this shop. It was my first time buying it. My choice of Milk Shake (:

The cup is quite small
as i bought the regular one about less than 3 bucks. Even though the serving was small, the combinaton of vanilla nd earl grey was superb!!~ The vanilla base made the earl grey taste creamier. The earl grey tea flavor was also not too strong. Furthermore, the environment was quite awesome. It has this cafe feeling and i feel relaxed xD You could also see how they prepare the milk shake. It made me feel like doing it myself too >.< I really love the milk shake. it has a unique taste and it is definitely different from other milk shake. Do try it! Its worth the money~

Having never attempted a tea-based milkshake before, I ordered a regular Earl Grey Lychee milkshake ($4.50). As bizzare as this might sound, the combination was really delicious. Granted, it tasted mainly of canned lychees, but the earl grey syrup provided a refreshing edge to the drink. Texture-wise, the milkshake was a pleasure to slurp- smooth and not overly thick, with lychee bits for contrast.I should have ordered a larger drink for an additional $1.50 though. MakeShake is a new milkshake joint that offers customers a say in the ingredients that go into their milkshake. First you choose your shake base (vanilla/choc/froyo) and size (regular/large). Then you choose what ingredients you want to be blended with the base at 80 cents each. There is a mind boggling array of sweet treats, fruits, biscuits, sauces and powders to choose from. For the less adventurous or indecisive people, they have a couple of recommended (interesting!) combinations you can choose from.

I was in the mood for earl grey, so I went along with the staff’s recommendation of vanilla milkshake with earl grey tea and butterscotch candy. I expected the milk shake to be cloyingly sweet (esp with the addition of butterscotch candy) but it turned out to be very well balanced- not too overly sweet at all. The bergamot taste of earl grey came through and the butterscotch candy was a delightful topping that went very well with it. The candy was crushed before being mixed into the milkshake and provided a nice crunchy texture to the otherwise ordinary milkshake. This combination costs $4.50 for a regular cup.

In case you've never heard of MakeShake, they're a new milkshake shop, located at City Square Mall as their first outlet. It's like Yoguru or Sogurt, you decide what toppings you want. Except that at MakeShake, they make it into milkshake instead of yogurt, and they mix it together with Vanilla I strongly recommend with Oreo topping. Usually I order small shake, cuz it's quite filling. And I only opt for 1 topping, afraid that mixing toppings will make the milkshake taste like shit. Haha!

When people go to gym, they drink protein shake. When I go, I make milk shake. Because I need motivation for suffering. Over time, I make a mean milk shake. That’s right, “my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, damn right, they’re better than yours.” (please get the Kelis reference, thanks.)

What makes a good shake? 1. The fatter the milk, the fuller the taste. 2. Quality of ice cream (usually vanilla ice cream because this is just a base for the ice cream to match with other ingredients). 3. Throw in whatever ingredients you want. For gym, I throw in bananas, peanut butter and protein powder. 4. Blend the daylights out of the shake. Consistency is important.

At MakeShake, they make their own vanilla ice cream as base for the milkshake, so the ice cream is less sweet. This is a good move because when the ingredients are blended in, the milkshake would turn out to be sweet but not saccharinely so.

When you order, you just have to pick the ingredients you want to add into the vanilla base. Each ingredient costs $0.70. The combinations are limitless. There are choices of chocolate (Kit Kat, M&M, Kinder Bueno, etc), fruits (banana, long’an, etc), tea/coffee (earl gray is a favorite among adults). Teenagers and studentswould love to mix their own favors, they are more adventurous than working adults. If you don’t want to customize, the shop has a menu you can order from. For the menu, the small sizes cost $3.90 while the big cups cost $5.40.

Hot boys, Jasper Aston Lim and Saunders Shen, customized their shakes. Jasper had a earl gray milkshake, which tasted refreshing. Saunders Shen had a peanut butter one; I forgot the taste. I ordered the shake on the menu, Peanut Butter Sandwich, consisting of peanut butter, banana and dark chocolate fudge. It was awesome! It tasted exactly like peanut butter sandwich, you can bite the bits of peanut in it. I love thick stuff–Saunders doesn’t–and peanut butter thickens the ice cream, which is fine to me. But the shake could be smoother. And towards the end, like all milkshakes, it got a bit excessive.

Ambience: MakeShake takes over the space for the horrible Cottage Waffle Place, so this is a kiosk with some tables and chairs to sit. The only bad thing about the stall is the location, inaccessible for most people.

Overall, it’s nice and fun especially if you concoct your own mix.
