Maki-san, situated at the basement of the cathay, once you go down the escalator from level 1, the first shop you see is maki-san, although part of the shop front might be hidden by the huge pillar in front. Maki-san, situated at the basement of the cathay, once you go down the escalator from level 1, the first shop you see is maki-san, although part of the shop front might be hidden by the huge pillar in front.

It’s a really cute sushi place with the concept similar to subway and that’s to pick your own toppings for your sushi, big or small sushi, sauce etc. They have salad too!! It’s really easy to order. Just take the order form and pen from the counter and tick what you want for your fillings! There’s different forms for sushis and salads, so just take note not to take the wrong one. For sushi, you can pick big san ($9.90) or small san ($6.90). The form clearly states the amount of fillings you can take for big or small san that you’ve chosen and the toppings, the sauce etc. We ordered boiled egg, steamed ebi, kani stick, tofu, tempura enoki mushroom for our essentials, smoked duck for our specials, turkey bacon bits for our sprinkles and teriyaki sauce.

They have these cute boxes for sushis, takeaway or dine in. But I guess it’s not very environmental or economical in the long run because people who dine in just eat the sushi and then they will throw it away. There isn't alot of chairs and tables for dine in but we went at around 8plus so there weren't alot of people too. We paid for our order first and waited for about 10 mins for the sushi to be done!

Anyway all the ingredients that we choose….came up to a super delicious sushi!!! As we were not huge fans of japanese sushi, DIY-ing our own sushi was a concept that we were quite taken to, and the teriyaki sauce made it so good that we don't even have to add soy sauce for extra taste. The big san is quite big, so if you're just looking for supper, I would say the small san will do. For a meal, maybe big san and a salad.
