See my full reviews & photos at = http://chefquak.com/2014/04/12/cheap-eats-guan-kim-coffeeshop-on-10apr2014/makan at guan kim coffeeshop next to tanglin halt market on 10.4.2014.was waiting in queue for the bakchomee & saw a few tables ordering the curry fish head. decided to have that instead.fish head was only S$6. i guess 1 of the cheapest around. the tenggiri (spanish mackerel) fish head was ok, the curry was average or below, a bit powdery, taste like some mix, not great ones.the S$3.50 white cut chicken (白斩鸡) drumstick was quite well done , like many chicken rice stall. chicken was tender (and tasty with the sauce). like a friend said, its quite different with kampong chicken, which is much sweeter.guan kim is always quite well frequented so the food here is quite ok.

I always feel that malay nasi padang are expensive and with 1 meat and 2 veggies, it could cost up to $3.50 onwards. This stall has been pretty popular and they do sell mee siam and mee rebus besides nasi padang. I like their food especially their rendang, sambal brinjal and petai etc.Their portion of white rice is often alot but the quantity on the dishes is of a small amount. Oh by the way, their sambal belachan is really good.
