Located at Changi Airport Terminal 1 Staff Canteen, Mazni's stall is probably one of the best ayam penyet in Singapore. Their Ayam Penyet is quite different from the other stalls elsewhere. Although it is a bit dark in colour, the fried chickenskin was very crispy and fragrant with a tad of sweetness to it. The must have is their sambal chilli. It was very good and many customers even asked for more. Besides ayam penyet, the stall is also very popular for their Malay snacks and kuehs. continue reading

It is recommended by a friend working in the airport. I popped by on a Sunday after sending a friend off. There was a queue then and most of these people seemed to be staff. I sat my expectation a bit higher. I ordered the highly recommended ayam penyet. The set came with quite a bit chicken drumstick. The chicken drumstick was fried quite well done and did not taste too oily. The stall might be too busy at that time as they did not 'penyet' the chicken. The chilli was a little spiciness but still acceptable. It was an enjoyable meal but not good enough for me to travel all the way to airport to eat it. continue reading

One of the stalls with a queue at Staff Canteen at Terminal 1. I waited for 10 mins before i gotten my order. The chicken was well marinated and fried till rather crispy and nice. The white rice has a slight taste of coconut and the chilli was rather nice too, not as spicy as some of the stalls serving ayam penyet but pretty mild, good for those with a sensitive stomach like myself. The soup tasted nice too, like those soup base for ayam soto. It would be nice if they give a few more slices of cucumber then just a miserable piece. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience for a $4.50 meal. continue reading
