I was surprised when I reached Bedok Hawker Centre in the morning, there was not much people queueing at this famous Lor Mee stall. Hence, I joined in the queue and ordered Lor Mee. The Lor Mee cost $3.The Lor Mee had a nice aroma of black vinegar. The bowl of Lor Mee portion looked small despite paying $3. The Lor Mee gravy tasted good with herbal and braised broth, it was slightly more to the sweet side than savoury. The braised meat was good, it was fatty and well braised, almost melted in the mouth when eaten. Overall, the Lor Mee was good but the portion seems to be small at this price.  continue reading

Colleague suggested going out to pack lunch, but since only 4 of us eating, we decided to go out for lunch instead. He drove all the way to Bedok Central market because I have been craving for lor mee.The lor mee gravy texture is very thick, and sweet. It also has a hint of the prawn mee soup in the lor mee gravy but lack of egg whites. I asked for additional vinegar, the uncle pass me a bottle & ask me to add myself so I get the desirable amount that like. It has been ages since I last had the lor mee here and it sure brings back some childhood memories. continue reading

It's been ages since I come across real delicious lor mee and since i had the craving, i decided to try give this stall a try as i've seen a few tables around me enjoying the lor mee.I've requested for more chili, more vinegar and more garlic but seems like the stall owner is rather stingy with the condiments. Texture of the noodles is ok, the broth is thick but lack of egg white flakes. Restriction of the vinegar and garlic DOES NOT brings out the lor mee taste nor give me the KICK of enjoying lor mee.Mum had a dry prawn mee where she says it's awful. I 've tasted and true enough, nothing fantastic. continue reading

The lor mee from this stall tastes pretty delicious. I think the important part of the lor mee is the gravy. The gravy is thick and well-seasoned. Vinegar, chilli and minced garlic is a must have and these enhanced the taste of the noodles and makes it very appetizing. The noodles are very well-cooked as such they are not soggy and give a good bite. The owner is also quite generous with the ingredients of braised meat and fish cake. continue reading

The stall uncle is really cheerful and friendly. He politely ask me to sit and wait for my food as the floor is rather slippery after the rain. While waiting, I start to realise alot of uncles were eating his prawn mee. Those people look like those old time friends of his whom patronised his stall for years. His lor mee also remind me of the old times taste that I used to eat with my dad. Nothing fancy, just plain lor mee. It really brings me back alot of fond memories that I had with my dad when I was a little girl . continue reading
