Mellben Seafood used to reside opposite Serangoon Interchange and they shifted to AMK a few years ago. I used to go there at least once a month when it was in Serangoon and then I visited them 3 times at AMK.As much as I like the crab bee hoon, the first time when I came to the branch in AMK was a disappointing experience in terms of environment. yummy butter crab with plenty of flesh and thick sauce!when we ordered the crab, the lady actually forewarned us that the crab wasn't very "meaty" and checked if we were alright with it.when the crab arrived, we found it meaty enough and really tasty and fresh! the creamy sauce was delicious and went well with the freshly fried mantous!a great dish to enjoy anytime of the day!

Went to amk melben for dinner. ordered the famous bee hoon crab noodle.. It's always nice to eat that after a long wait at the restaurant. The soup is never disappointing and the crab meat is fresh and juicy and the meat they give is always big and fat. not the others which are small. Overall the food is a must try/eat.

Mellben is obviously famous for its crabs!!! The crab bee hoon is a white creamy soup-based dish, somewhat different from the dry, brown fried bee hoon commonly found. Can pay more for extra servings of bee hoon or soup. The butter crab is also a must-try! Best eaten with deep friend mini buns to soak up and savour the buttery sauce! The down side is the long queue that forms during dinner times. Avoid the waiting time by calling up to make a booking in advance. The staff is chatty and friendly

It was a weekday so we made reservation for our dinner. We waited for all to arrive before we started to order. We ordered 2 small crabs each for the butter crab and mee hoon soup dish. It was so nice and delicious. Although they stated that the crabs were small size but we find it quite meaty. With 4 crabs to fill the stomach of 5 ladies, we were real lucky. We enjoyed the crabs. You will go back for more after the first try, located at Blk 232 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 #01-1222 Singapore 560232. This shop has a stronger taste for the dishes while the other has a lighter one, both owners are brothers however I still go for this one because I love stronger taste. Would recommend mongolian pork ribs(sweet & sour + bit spicy), butter cream crab(shiok), Salted Egg York Crab(lagi shiok), Bee Hoon soup crab(Popular). Price is rather expensive but the pincers can be bigger than a 10y
