The 24-hours shop is located in the middle of the row of shophouses and is just behind the bus stop. It is known for its Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles (aka Bak Chor Mee) and is also known as Meng Kitchen 日夜小厨. One has to queue, order, pay at the cashier, before settling at the table for the food to be served to you. The place is quite packed during dinner time. So be prepared to wait quite awhile for your food to be served.I ordered the $4 Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles (Bak Chor Mee) with Mee Kia. There is meatball, minced meat, braised mushrooms, liver with bits of pork lard and spring onion in the dish. The noodle is quite tasty without the “Kee” (alkali) taste. The noodle is well flavourful with the chilli sauce and vinegar. The pig liver is super tender. It was served with a bowl of minced meat soup topped with seaweed and spring onions. Super yummy one dish meal.

see my full reviews & photos at = http://chefquak.com/2014/05/04/very-shiok-bakchormee-ming-fa-upper-thomson/went with wife & daughter to ming fa at upper thomson for bakchormee this afternoon on 4.5.2014. must say it as immensely fulfilling. haha. such simple food & great satisfaction! guess i was also missing the jalan tea kong meepok tar at 6th avenue. having withdrawals. haha. the bakchormee was really good, the overall flavours & chilli, the qq noodles, minced pork, pork ball & sliced pork & liver. as good as the tai wah i remember (not been to tai wah for the longest time).noodles was S$4 and ming fa now has expanded from a traditional stall in chinatown to 7 outlets with a manufacturing arm selling laksa and curry chicken etc. saw on their website that there is an outlet at hollandv hawker centre etc. somehow did not notice. only tried the fei zai bakchormee stall, which was not too bad. will look out next time i am there

Been here couple of times and it never fail to taste good. Depending on when you come, you can easily get a seat or you have to wait for a table. This time, it was busy. Had to wait about 5 minutes to get a table and another 5 minutes for the assistant to take my orders. Recommend you to order the bak chor mee with chilli as it will make eating more flavourful. Tried eating without the chilli once and it doesn't taste nice (as least to me). Also ordered this drink which is lime with some jelly. It is nice as I like sour drinks and never fail to order that everything I am here. The place is nearby other F&B outlets which serves other food such as ice cream, prata and mookata. So if it doesn't appeal to you, there's plenty of other food to try. But first, do try this and you will find it tasty.
