Have not yet tried all the Thai Restaurant in Singapore, it was hard to conclude that which was the best. Sometimes the queue judged the popularity, lining up was formed during dinner hours. Not my first time to have meal at Nakhon Kitchen, it served authentic Thai food at reasonable price. Menu was divided into few sections, extensive and easy to read.Went for the classic, entire was for two person. Not exaggerated, the portion was just nice. Tom Yam Soup was a must, decent hot and spicy. Fried stuffs like Homemade Thai Fishcakes and Spring rolls were crispy enough, price was around $6.00. Like their Pineapple fried rice, yellowish tasty with little floss on top. Cannot complete without veggies, Kang Kong was well-cooked with fragrant of Belachan. Iced Milk Tea was $3.00, chilling cool to accompany heavy-flavoured dishes. Overall, we fancy about Nakhon. If you have never drop by it, do give a try. continue reading

My friends and I have heard raving reviews of Nakhon and decided to meet up for dinner over here! All being east-siders, we were glad they have an outlet in Bedok! There was already a queue around 6 + pm and we waited for about 15 minutes before getting a table. Everytime I dine in at a Thai restaurant/eatery, Cha Yen (Thai Iced Tea) is a must order! The taste is authentic and I love it! The green mango salad, also known as Som Tum, is a kind of Thai salad that you either like or don't like as it had quite a distinct taste. As for me, I like the taste but I usually take a few spoonfuls of it only as I can't really take spicy food. Their green mango salad tasted quite bland actually. The next dish is the Green Curry with Chicken! One of my favourite! I actually prefer this over Tom Yum. The chicken was tender and the green curry was so full of flavour! It had just the right amount of minty flavour in it and the coconut milk enhanced the creamy texture. I enjoyed it very much! We needed a Vege dish and so we ordered the Stir-Fried Kai Lan with Mushrooms. I love this as well, very tasty! A few years ago when I went over to Thailand for my internship, I often order this minced pork to go together with my rice. Although its spicy, the taste is awesome and I am willing to shed tears for this! Nakhon's version had the right balance of sweetness and saltiness. The last item was the Cereal Prawns! This is everyone's favourite and the I love the crunchiness of the cereal prawns! Overall, Nakhon Kitchen serves good authentic Thai food at an affordable price! The staff are all Thai people, their service is efficient and the waiting time for the food is short despite the place being packed with people! I will certainly come back here again to satisfy future Thai food cravings! continue reading

Nakhon is always my all favorite thai eating place. Reason? Its very nice and cheap! We ordered kang kong, tom yum soup (clear) with chicken and fried chicken wing, 2 plates of rice and ice water and the total bill is only $19! which is about $10/pax. Nakhon never fail to disappoint me. i have been there many times and their standard of food is consistent. specially the tom yum soup. that is a must try dish if you visit nakhon. However, do be prepared to queue for 20mins or more if you go in between 7pm-8pm. continue reading

Went to Nakhon for dinner today. As usually come before 6 and you will be spared from queuing, anytime after that you will probably have to wait for a table. First dish we had was pad thai, it is one of the better and more affordable pad thai around. Kang Kong was okayI love the Tom Yum Soup here. Spicy, in fact too spicy for most but I thought it the perfect spice level. Anything less spicy will not give you the 'kick' This is usually where i get my tom yum fix. Go for the tom yum noodles if you are alone but beware it may give some people a queasy tummy after that. Basil pork was pretty ordinary. Didnt think the garlic chicken was good. Probably wouldnt order this again. Stuff chicken wing was well.. i guess alright.Overall I think the good thing about this restaurant is that it serves good food at a very affordable price. If you are willing to pay, you can always go to YhingThai palace at purvis street which is double the price but the food is more refine. If not, this is really good, which explains the huge crowd especially weekend.Oh but one thing i hate about this restaurant is that it plays very loud thai music. Very Loud. They will reluctantly turn the volume down if you ask them to, but just a little notch down. continue reading

This place always has a queue during meal times. The wait is not too long as they have a system. You can queue at the side of the shop and a waitress will take your order. When a table is available for the number of people you required, you will be led to the table. A wait of about 5 mins and your order will start to arrive on the table. AmbienceThe place has indoor and outdoor sitting. The place is simply decorated with a counter that has a Thai Style roof. This act as a cashier as well as a dessert counter. Simple wooden table and wooden chair inside the shop. It is more like a cafe.Tom Yum Soup.I love the spicy and sour taste in this clear broth. It has mushroom, prawns, & squids. It cost $6 and is enough for 4 person.Crispy Fish with Thai Chilli Sauce. The fish is fried until very crispy untill the bones can be eaten. The Thai Chilli Sauce is sweet and not very hot. The fish is of decent size and is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is really cheap at $22. Highly Recommended.Red Curry Chicken. They serve the usual Thai curry like Green, Red and Massaman Curry. We ordered the red curry Chicken which is slightly spicy and has cut chilli and Kaffir leaf. The yummy curry gravy encourages you to eat more rice.Drink.They serve mainly bottle drink like different colour Fanta drink, Thai Soya Milk as well as Thai Ice Tea. The Fanta drink are small bottle like those in Thailand.OverallThe food is very tasty and prices are very reasonable even for seafood. It is one of my favorite casual Thai Cafe. continue reading
