The chicken meat was beautifully grilled where the outer skin had a nice charred taste and the meat inside was still moist and tasty. Depending on your order, they will have a special sauce glaze over their meat. With my colleague, we both ordered a whole chicken and 4 sides:3 Beans Salad - tangy dressing over 3 types of beans, the red kidney beans, chickpeas and yellow beans. I also like the slices of onions and capsicum thrown in. Coleslaw - rich and creamy and slightly tangy, the vegetables used were also fresh. I told my friend that one of the signature dishes in this Portuguese Restaurant was the now famous flame-grilled Peri-Peri Chicken while we were queuing to wait for our table during lunch time. The waitress took so long to come in taking our order after letting us to sit down for looking at their menu.This would be the worst service after visiting this place with my friend for lunch during a weekday because we had been waiting for our meal to be served and the place wasn't much crowded. Although I have not been to Nando's, I must admit that it's food gets better because I saw their menu has complete set as compared to Malaysia branch.The main course was the Peri-peri chicken with side dish. The 1/4 chicken was done well, tender and has a good level of moisture (nice and juicy) because all Nando's chicken are marinated for 24 hours in their secret sauce until that flavour goes right through to the bone.We also tried the Hummus with Roasted Pita Bread. It has a slight sour after finishing to the traditional dish. The pita was also quite fluffy, which is a refreshing change.Conclusion: Dining with quality food after working hours as dinner in relaxed environment. Nando's have been around for several years, and has the standard drop? Are they rebranding their menu? Well, instead of choosing their usual signature chicken, i've decided to try their pita instead.The pita with chicken chunk set costs $9.90 and comes with 1 side of my choice. I chose coleslaw and they were really generous with the salad portion. I love the slightly burnt taste of the pita... but it was quite hard. They were quite stingy with their chicken chunks. anyway, the service was horrifying because i asked the waiter about a particular menu item and what was it and he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. i thought he might at least ask other crew what the food item was about, but no, he just decided to avoid and walk away. :( I don't think I'll be visiting the store ever again.…Read More

I had the quarter chicken, mild, and i specially requested for thigh meat, which will not be too dry after grilling. I chose the three bean salad and potato salad for the 2 sides. I was told that i could actually choose from the premium sides, which i was not aware of through all my trips to nando. The three bean salad was, just beans, as expected, and pretty bland. This is my first time at Nando's! I really like the ambience and design of the restaurant! Hahah it's very unique and nice. Anyway me and my 2 other friends ordered a full platter to share! It comes with a whole chicken and either 2 large sides or 4 regular sides. Since the 3 of us were first time here, we decided to take 4 regular sides to try out! the 4 sides we chose were the Mediterranean rice, garlic breads, fries and coleslaw. As for the chicken, we can also choose the level of spicinesss we want (haha they called it the peri-ometer! how cute!) and we chose the second level which is mild :) The first level is non-spicy where the chicken will be marinated using lemon and herbs while the third and forth level are hot and extra hot respectively! i think this is very good as not all people can take spicy food very well and so we can actually customised our level of spiciness according to our preference For our chicken, I felt that mild was really nothing as i couldn't really taste the spiciness in the chicken! Haha to me it tastes like non spicy one! So average people like me (average in taking spicy food) might want to consider the next hot level to get the kick! haha. on the side note, the chicken was really well marinated and i like how it taste! I also think that the chicken they used was really tender as normally i do not like the chicken breast meat part but surprisingly, the chicken breast meat here was quite soft and fragrant unlike some places which serve very dry chicken breast meat! Nando's happened to be one of the places when I am craving for grilled chicken. I really like the many peri-peri sauces sauces that you can pick to go along with you chicken. There are choices that range from mild to extra hot and they have the garlic peri-peri as well. I will usually order the quarter chicken with garlic sauce and you can pick two sides to go along with it. I ordered the spinach and fries this time around. Dinner at Star Vista with the folk, it was their first time eating nandos and I was afraid they may not be used to the sauce, but it turns out they have been converted to nandos fans as well. I tried their quarter chicken, this time took a different level of spiciness. Tried the hot, it was still fine for me, stomach still can take it. the chicken is really good, very tender and juicy. I managed to try most of their sauces. I recommend the garlic, it is not spicy. Since my chicken was already spicy, the garlic sauce sort of balance out the spiciness. I must admit that I don't have a very good impression of Nando's because of their terribly lackluster service, but their food is genuinely good so I occasionally still eat here once in a while. Even at the Star Vista branch where it's not that crowded, the staff at Nando's have this "I could care less" attitude and made us wait in line when there was no one else in the queue at all. This branch is located at basement of Star Vista and has more or less the same interior design concept as the rest of the Nando's branches. Anyway, as I'm not much of a chili person, I opted for the lemon and herb peri peri chicken that comes with a "Not So Brave" flag on it which is kinda cute. The set costs $13.90 and comes with 2 additional sides of your choice - I chose the garden salad and wedges, but they do have other choices like Mediterranean rice and spinach. Had the quarter chicken thigh with 2 sides - Spinach and Spicy rice. The spicy rice needed more flavour but with their many sauces available, you can mix and match to your desired taste. I ordered the chicken with mild sauce and this gave it that touch of heat but nothing too hot to handle. Chicken was juicy and cooked well and seasoned well too. We had a group of 10 people, and surprisingly the restaurant had enough seats to house us even though the Star Vista was filled with a large crowd of people coming out from church services. Just a heads-up, New Creation Church services are held at 8.30 am, 11.30am, 2.30pm and 5.30pm at the Star Vista, thus the crowds are not expected to reduce throughout Sunday!We had a fairly large variety of meat, and because chicken wings are sold out, we had a lot of favor with the supervisor there who offered to give us half a chicken!! *smiles widely* Really good Godly service!As you can see from other reviews, you can select the level of spiciness with your chicken. Anyway it's not really spicy/hot at all, so don't be afraid to blast the level away. I'm not a spicy person thus the level of spiciness in Nando's is tolerable, and really delicious because of the special recipe they use. Lunch at Nando’s was really hearty, I ordered their peri peri quarter chicken with two sides ($13.90) and their bottomless fanta orange ($4.20). For all their Peri Peri Chicken, they have four flavours on their Peri-o-meter. Starting with Lemon & Herb, Mild, Hot and Extra Hot. I ordered their Mild flavoured one. It is not too spicy but still has some hotness in the dish. The chicken is very well marinated, as per their menu, they said they marinate their chickens for at least 24 hours. The chicken is very tender and juicy. When you slice into it, juice oozes out. There are quite a number of sides to choose from, namely, Chips, Wedges, Garlic Bread, Mediterranean Rice, Coslaw, Corn-on-the cob, 3 bean salad and Spicy Rice. For my sides, I got their Potato Wedges and Mediterranean Rice. The rice is indeed different from the normal butter rice you eat at outside western stalls. It has this unique aromatic fragrance. You won't get sick from eating too much of it. They also have various of their Peri-Peri Sauce to eat with their chicken. So for those who feels that their meal is not hot enough for them, they can add the Peri Peri Sauce. I tried the Hot Peri Peri Sauce, it is great for dripping but if i ordered it for my chicken, it will be a little too spicy. Their garlic sauce is not too bad too, it did not have the overpowering garlic flavour and it actually brings out the flavour of the chicken. The best way to sum up the meal was the bottomless fanta orange. they have quite a number of bottomless drinks such as coke, coke light, sprite, fanta grape...The setting of this restaurant is pretty comfy and cosy. Star Vista is an eco-friendly alfresco mall, so only the shops, restaurants and the auditorium/theatre on Level 3 have aircon. While Nandos has a small alfresco seating area, we made a beeline for the cool, aircon interior. If you're visiting for the first time, do pick one of the tables with the sauce racks, so you can have easy access to Nandos' signature dipping sauces for the chicken. Else, you have to know exactly which sauce you want and ask the server to bring it to your table.Chicken is the highlight here and one can choose to have it on its own, or served in salads, burgers, pitas or wraps. Like most diners, I opted for the Quarter Chicken which was served with two side dishes. I had the 'white' Quarter ie breast meat with wing which was flattened so the diner can easily tuck into it without using fingers. The chicken was moist enough to enjoy it au naturel,though one can enhance its flavor by dipping it in table sauces - tomato, lemon herb & three types of peri peri sauces. I prefer Nandos to Kenny Rogers rotisseried chicken which tends to be oilier and a little salty. K.R. used to serve US chicken initially but has now switched to either Malaysian or Indonesian chicken so the portions are smaller than the quarter / half chicken served at Nandos or its closest competitor Barcelos. Between the purveyors of African style peri peri chicken, I like the chicken served at this Nandos outlet at Star Vista because the bird I had at Barcelos was a little dry and chewy. Nandos also has more choices of side dishes including risotto/rice and sweet potato mash. I opted for the three bean salad, which was very good, and the grilled vegetables. The latter looked like it had been sauteed not grilled and was drenched in oil. Will opt for coleslaw or green salad next time. I headed to Nando’s to try their Peri-Peri Chicken. I ordered their quarter chicken with two sides and that cost me $13.90. They have four level of hotness of you to eat the chicken with, I opted for the mild level so I can try their peri-peri sauces. I ordered the corn on the cob and coslaw for my side. The corn was kind of “skinny” as compared to other western food places. The mild sauce was not spicy in my opinion so I decided to try their “hot”, “extra hot” and “wild herb” sauces. The "hot" was a little tongue tingling and the “extra hot” was much spicier but I do not count it mind blowing. The “wild herb” was kind of unique. The chicken was very tender and juicy.
