This place is opened by ex-onvict but you do not feel uneasy at all. These are all honest, hardworking chaps. They do not talk much (and smile) but their service is fast and efficient. The Tau Kee is always are favourite. Try also the dry Ba Khut Teh - it's definitely our fav. Also, here, you can ask for unlimited refill of soup base for Ba Khut Teh. No question asked. The only concern is how much you can drink lah. They have this Taiwan pearl drink that is very appetizing. We order it everytime. We even have mister Teo Ser Luck behind us with his family dining here but we did not want to disturb their family together time.

I went with my family to try the bak kut teh. The bak kut teh had extra ingredients unlike the few shops I tried before. There are a bit of golden mushrooms, and some pig stomach in together with the normal stuff, and the soup tastes more herb-like and sweeter! It tastes nice for me, and the best thing is that its being served hot! It is steaming hot and still boiling after it is served. Pig trotters are tender, just that the skin part does not really taste interesting, just simple okay okay taste for me.

For bak kut teh, i always seems to prefer the herbal kind. Was quite happy to know that near my house there's a shop located at Jalan Kayu. It first got my attention when my brother posted a photo of it on his facebook.I was with 2 other friends and we decided to try the bak kut teh in medium size, pork liver and the large intestines. First impression when the food arrived, they are quite generous with the portion! Soup taste is not bad and i happened to try 2 pieces which are soft bones! Nice and tender. Pork liver was decent too, texture was alright and fresh. Large intestines had no funny smell and the gravy goes very well with rice. The only minus point was during soup refill, it wasn't hot at all. Not even warm! But i do like it enough to go back again. This time round will feedback to them about it =)Overall it was reasonably priced for the 3 items + 2 bowls of rice + 3 drinks at $32

Located alone the famous Jalan Kayu Roti Prata, many of you would have miss out on this treasure! Near this New Soon Huat Bak Kut Teh, there’s this Chinese Temple (opposite the Esso) that is also quite popular – many youngsters are spotted there. So, yes avoid heading here during peak period. There’s another outlet at Ang Mo Kio mentioned above as well. This Bak Kut Teh is one of the best and will be in my good book. It is affordable, not very pricey and every dishes here is great! The Bak Kut Teh is serve with Golden Mushroom and the soup is not the peppery kind, it is more towards the herbal kind. The meat is very tender and not overly cook, it is easy to chew. Same goes to the Ginger Sesame Chicken. I don’t know how they master it, both pork and chicken are not tough to chew and is cook to perfection. The side dishes and the Honey Lemon Jelly up hold to the standard throughout, we walked out feeling contented.
