What I love about Nihon Mura Express is that it is perfect for people who hate math. Every plate is going at $1.50, so you will count the coloured plates towards the end and multiply it by $1.50. Do note that drinks are mandatory for each guest, you can choose from Green Tea, Iced Lemon Tea and Pepsi. No Coke available - an apology to members of Team Coca Cola.

Most of the dishes were sufficient to satisfy the regular sushi cravings, but still an obvious notch lower in terms of freshness as compared to Itacho Sushi who makes your orders on the spot. I guess it's inevitable as the sushi has been traveling around the conveyor belt for some time. It's good for variety, as shown by the spread as demonstrated below, but not much of innovation of sushi to speak of.

Pro tip: I would recommend you to order your sushi from the tablet because it tastes more fresh when prepared from the kitchen. Most of them costs $1.50 as well. The more memorable dishes include the Lobster handroll - which was surprisingly good because the seafood flavours were a real kick and the seaweed was easy to bite. I really enjoyed the Red Bean Mochi as well, which was soft and fluffy, it was like biting on a piece of cloud! It wasn't sticky at all. Both the green and purple-coloured mochi are red bean flavoured.

Mussels with mentai with a tinge of lemon juice over it brings out the freshness of the mussels. A pity that the Mentai is not 'roasted' over the fire enough. Other wise would taste even better without the fishy taste.

Sashimi comes in thickness just right. Not too small or thin. Honestly speaking, for the price you are paying, the sashimi is already very worth the price. After all, you get what you are paying for.

Overall, Nihon Mura is a place that is more affordable for even students or working adults who just want to satisfy their sushi craving yet not willing too pay too much for the food they are eating. A place value for money indeed.

This Curry Rice that I have ordered at Nihon Mura Izakaya is definitely not a disappointing one. The curry is hot but not very spicy, which is suitable for people who can't really take spicy food. The chicken is very crispy and it doesn't turned soggy that fast when it was mixed together with the rice and curry. The combination of rice, curry and chicken taste superb, I must say. Also, eating the chicken alone without mixing with the curry taste pretty good as well.

It makes me wonder why the restaurant had spent so much effort into decorating the place, but not training their staff to be more polite and welcoming. Unlike most other Japanese restaurant which greets us in Japanese once diners come into the restaurant, Nihon Mura staff seems to take diners for granted. Even though there were plenty of seats inside the restaurant and no other diners in queue, they took a long time to seat my friends and I. Note that we are a group of 8, so it’s pretty hard to miss us. And when we are to ask for help, it took us ages to get their attention because the staff all seemed to be hiding somewhere in the kitchen or at corners, deliberately away from our sight.

When we sat down, the staff that served us was rude was well, looking as though she was going to rush off to other places. She was super impatient and had a black face on throughout the order. It made all of us panicky to hurry up our orders and spoiling our mood even before the meal ): We were super irritated by it because she was the one hiding from our order, and yet now rushing us to complete it. They way they slam down our utensils and glasses of water was extremely rude too.

The food wasn’t terrific as well. It was quite pricey, so I would expect better quality food. They tasted bland and not well cooked. Perhaps their cooks were as impatient as their service staff, rushing off to somewhere else. I’m not sure if we have visited them on a bad day, or they were like this all along. Checking out other reviews online made me realized their service have been persisting like this for quite some time already.

This is the first time I've eaten at Nihon Mura. And I've to say this place really provides value for money if you're on a budget. I ate the lunch special so it may have been more affordable. With the lunch special you can order 1 appetiser, 1 main and 1 desert or 1 side and it comes with a free drink for S$9.99++. I choose the pork katsu curry, chawanmushi and fried tempura vegetables in teriyaki sauce. The pork katsu curry came in a surprisingly large portion and was very yummy. The other 2 it

The pork katsu curry came in a surprisingly large portion and was very yummy. The other 2 items that I ate were average. But I would still definitely recommend this lunch special since it's more than worth the amount paid.

I enjoy having buffet at nihon Mura so much. Especially if you are student there is discount as what I remember. Just around 20~30 bucks and have all your favourite Japanese food as you wish. To me there are 3 dish that I wish to have first every time I'm at Nihon Mura which are raw salmon, clam and cold noodles! SO these babies are very fresh and awesome to have. And I have 1 plate of this for myself! ^0^The cold noodles has finally full fill my stomach and the green tea ice cream was very nice

If you happen to pass by this Japanese restaurant when you are heading to THe Cathay building for shopping or to catch a movie, do check out their chewy tofu here. The tofu is very smooth and soft in texture and the thin layer of starch are coated on to it before bring to deep fry. The outcome is chewy outsurface which is also quite fragrant which has blend in well with the dark sweet sauce topped on it. Price is reasonable and service here is quite good as well.

Went to Nihon Mura after watching movie with friends at the cathay as keep receiving good reviews about this restaurant. Ordered their cha soba because i heard from several friends that their cha soba are quite nice. But to my disappointment, it wasn't the taste that i expected. The cha soba was blend and hard, so i wouldn't recommend you to order this. As for the sushi, the taste is considered as acceptable for the price we paid.

If I am on a low budget yet looking for a great place to satisfy my cravings for sushi, I would always go to Nihon Mura. they offer sushi buffet too! Makes you want to have many many many plates of superb sushi! I tried the fried tofu and various kinds of sushi and wraps with my friends, and we definitely has a yummilious meal. The tempura and gyoza is ok also. A bit oily. I think the oil is used countless times until it turns to black colour. Not recommended to eat here often.

If you love mayonnaise and mussels or clams, try their Mentai Mussels or Mentai Clams If you love cha soba, their cha soba are pretty springy If you love Japanese Curry Katsu Don, their katsu are crispy and juicy! However, sushi are placed on the conveyor belt for too long, thus the seaweed are soggy. Not a place I would recommend for Sushi.

The sushi price here has gone up since the last time I was here. However, comparatively, it is still cheaper than most other sushi chains. I ordered the quite a lot of sushis. All taste fresh and the seaweed is still quite crunchy. I dislike those seaweed which has been left out for a long time since it becomes hard to chew it. My favourite sushi of the night is the salmon sushi as it is very sweet tasting and fresh.
