Went to try some wanton noodles from this stall after hearing from my niece that they actually do whip up some good wanton noodles, which is rare in Singapore as a shooting star sighting. And oh boy was I blown apart, to pieces!I was wondering if they had mistakenly gave me crackers instead of fried wantons. The shrimp feelings is almost not even there, only air. The steamed wantons are slightly better, and I emphasized, slightly. The supposedly-good soup tastes like hot water with a pinch of salt. The quantity, well, it's gone even before I was thinking about it. Anyway for a small price, I can't expect much right? continue reading

Review on Noodles @ Tong Seng Coffee ShopServiceThe waiters and waiteresses will be prowling at the edge of their shop - staring right into your eyes and assuming you will be eating there by shouting the number of pax - "5 ah? makan?" Once you're seated, menu will be placed on your table and you are given 1 minute to decide (which can be QUITE annoying especially when you're indecisive). The workers here are very fast & furious. Your food & drinks will be served within 3 minutes and you have to pay straight away - so prepare your change. It's best if you pay your own cause when you pay for your friends, they will reluctant to give a change for 5 pax!Suggested daysIt's often packed with tertiary students, young adults and families on a weekend. But in the weekdays, the crowd will be mostly working adults during peak hours like lunch & dinner. If you are uncomfortable to share your table with some strangers, I guess you don't come here during peak hours.Prices $$A bowl of noodles starts form $3.Drinks are about $1.20 each.Side dishes like siew mai starts from $3.RatingI would give this 2.5/5. Despite it being "unhygienic", its reasonable and filling. Besides, to avoid the pigeons and flies, you can visit an air-con room in level 2.Other varietiesTahu GorengOtahFried Fish SoupLaksaMinced Chicken NoodleLor Mee continue reading

Last time I ordered laksa and totally loved it! They also included lots of ingredients like cockles, prawns, egg and so on! Yummy! The gravy is also very rich and fragrant! Worth a try! So again i order laksa this time, but it seems like the hum here does not taste as fresh and their noodles were slightly overcooked. However, the fishcake was springy and tasty while the beancurd was not too wet. The laksa soup has a good mix of spiciness and coconut milk but it still has a long way to go to be compared to a Katong Laksa continue reading

in town area, you seldom able to find cheap and good food, except maybe in hawker centre. But you might complain that it is hot..Tong Seng has aircon in the 2nd level, which few people knows about. I tried this chicken rice today, but i love its mee siam and mee rebus. im a regualr customer here and i love its service too. I never have to bother finding seats for myself, they will do it for me. I never have to wait more than 5-10min for my food to be served to be. And no gst and service charge here. Better than food court, i would say.Food & service - Excellent. continue reading
