Double chocolate chip and mocha almond fudge ice cream with cookie chunks, nestled on an Oreo cookie base with chocolate fudge and whipped cream. Sounds and looks inviting, isn’t it? I always have a soft spot for mudpies because I like the firm and dense texture of the ice cream as compared to a soft serve that melts easily. When this mudpie is first served to the table, it looks frosty on the side because it came out straight from the freezer. It takes a lot of effort to cut through with a fork as it’s really hard so I just have to eat bit by bit. I love the Oreo crunch that gives a light chocolatey flavour. The two ice creams may blend with each other but it’s the double chocolate chip one that wins in taste and flavour.

A luscious carrot cake with walnuts and cream cheese frosting. I love the generous helping of walnuts inside as well as on top of the cake though I’m not a big fan of them as walnuts tend to be quite dry but do have a rich, nutty taste to them. The cake itself is pretty light and the cream cheese frosting was just right too. It’d be nice to have thicker layers of cream cheese as the cake is a little dry.

Overall thumbs up!

On top of that, the restaurant is decorated really nicely and cosy.

A sinful concoction of double chocolate chip, mocha almond fudge and macadamia nut ice cream with cookie chunks sitting on a crisp oreo cookie base. Complete with chocolate fudge and whipped cream, every mouthful was a sheer delight. The velvety ice cream was studded with peanuts, almonds and marshmallows which added flavor and texture. Extremely satisfying for my sweet tooth, but its size no longer wowed me. It’d shrunk considerably.

The goldmine cheesecake ($7.20) was essentially ally’s new york cheesecake with chocolate chunks, slathered with chocolate fudge topping on an oreo cookie base. Rich creamy cheese with an equally rich chocolate to go along with. A goldmine indeed!

We spent a couple of hours getting high on sugar. The mudpie would’ve to last quite a while since it’s not wise to repeat this indulgence often.

Service was polite and efficient. Our cups were never left empty for too long.

2) That Boney Cake ($9.80) - indulgent and yummylicious. A huge slice of rich chocolatey Elmer Fudge cake was served warm with creamy macadamia nut ice-cream and an additional scoop ($3) of double chocolate chip ice-cream. MUST-TRY here.

3) Brooklyn Wings ($8.80)- deep fried drumlets and wings brushed with a paprika-spiked orange cajun dip. This was nice, chicken was well-marinated and juicy and the dip was delectably piquant, peppery and sweet

We visited NYDC during lunch time and was able to enjoy their lunch time set meals. We decided to have the pasta dish "The prawn who got creamed", but we requested for it to be served in tomato sauce instead of cream based sauce, which they willingly obliged. The pasta did not turn out too badly at all. The prawns served were huge and fresh. The tomato sauce was nice and tangy.

I haven't had this is years & I could still finish it in 15 minutes =) It was a really hot day after all. (I'm a NYdc lover!)

best in NyDc, is still the pasta, baked rice, speciality drink available too.

Even me, who dislike cheesecakes found their goldmine cheesecake to be that yummy. The whole slice was not overwhelmed with the cheesy flavour, the taste was moderate. The layer of chocolate at the top & the oreo base are a perfect match with the cheesecake!^^

The soft cheese simply melts in your mouth;D

Needless to say, the Irish cream mud pie are simply heaven-licious!;D
A layer of vanilla ice cream cake with tinge of Baileys paired with chocolate ice cream. Top coated with oreo bits & based with oreo cookie, completed with whipped cream & chocolate fudge!;D

These combinations are wonderful. The ice cream melts in our mouth and next up, we’ll be biting on the oreo bits.

High and Mighty? Yes it is!;D
This chocolate sponge cake is really HIGH & all MIGHTY, with a total of 24 layers of chocolate sponge cake & bittersweet chocolate towering to such an awesome height!;D
Plain and simple as it is. Special? Being high is enough!^^

Even so, this appearing-to-be normal chocolate layer sponge cake has an exceptional taste from the normal ones. Giving a thick taste of chocolate, bitter and sweet at the same time, portraying the look of simple cake with extraordinary indulging taste & feeling;D

Don’t ask if I will return for more, because that’s for sure^^

NYDC is really one of my favourite cheese cake place. But besides that, it is also a very good restaurant that you can enjoy good food in several food courses.

For appetiser, I would recommend you try the buffalo wings or the portobello mushroom with cheese. The mushrooms are baked with cheese that melts on top which is really juicy and fresh. A great combination.

For main course, I would recommend the lamb rack or any baked rice. Personally I felt that their baked rice is better than their baked pasta, as the rice seems to absorb the taste of the gravy and cheese better. The mutton is fresh, young and tender.

For the drinks, you can try the famous elephanccino. Its actually a large cup of iced coffee, so if unsure, please order one to share first, or else you will risk not being able to finish your large drink!

For the dessert, well, thats the best part. Lots of variety of cheesecake, my personal favourites are the big o and the goldmine. They are both combination of chocolate layers and cheesecake, just that the big o has thicker chocolate and the goldmine comes with oreo crust. I like their cheesecake because it is thick and solid, unlike some that will scatter after a fork's first thrust. A must have!

The price is not cheap though, considering that your meal in nydc is never complete without a slice of cheesecake! So it is rather easy to hit $30 if you order a main course + drink + dessert. However I would say it is indeed worthwhile for the taste and dining experience it offers. Go experience it yourself!

This NYDC store has revamp itself to be newer, cleaner and better. It's food is not too bad. I like it's bake rice and it is not too pricey. Previously it has a lot of soft toys in the store, now, it is more modern looking. I like it's cakes and desserts as well, especially with ice cream as a topping!

The service was rather prompt (maybe because we were there on a weekday afternoon), and it was playing Top 40 hits from MTV.

I ordered baked rice which was pretty decent. The mozarella cheese had not really overpowered the entire dish so i still had space for the floats that we ordered.

Comfort food at not too expensive prices. =)

and oh, they have huge stuffed toys that you can hug with while waiting for your food to arrive. =))
