Chanced upon this casual thai eatery and thus we settled our lunch here. At $5 only, this thai Basil Chicken Rice is worth the try. The basil meat is very fine and gravy is flavourful. Because it is a little salty, it goes well with the white rice. The egg is soft and fluffy too. The green curry chicken kway tiao is a disappointment though. The green curry lacks richness in taste and texture is too watery. It also tastes too sweet. The chicken is tender though and the kway tiao is smooth and has a springy texture. Lastly, I find that the chicken wings are a tad salty but the seasoning is flavourful and the chicken is tender too.

Ofira Amazing Thai Food is one of the restaurants at the basement of Far East Plaza. Since I've been working in the region for the past one month, I thought of trying out this Thai eatery which I've always breezed past. Not only was I curious, I was nursing this constant nagging craving for mango sticky rice even though I had one every two weeks in recent months. I have no idea why because every time I eat it, I get slightly disappointed but I know this dish can outshine a lot of other desserts given this magical combination. Well, Ofira continues to fail my expectations when it comes to this dessert... although this isn't a fair judgment to this popular eatery since I only ate one non-signature dish.

Located at the level 1 of Far East Plaza, Ofira Amazing Thai Food is one of the more affordable place for lunch around Orchard.I ordered a Thai Basil Chicken Rice ($5) for take away, which is quite not bad in my opinion. The portion given was very generous, I even had a large portion of Minced Chicken left after I am done with the rice. The minced chicken is a little spicy for those who cannot take heat. Fried with Basil leaves, there is a taste of spices which enhanced my appetite. There are also some long bean which added a little crunchiness and refreshingness to the meal.

I didn’t been Thai Restaurant so quite a while, today I discovered this eatery and I believed Tomyam lover will be happy to know it. A humble facade but it was quite crowded during lunch hours. Indeed it was a slightly modified version to fulfill local appetite, unlike common Thai Tomyam soup which was clear. I prefer red orangey soup, it looked more spicy and attractive. The soup had just the right balance of hot, sour and strong aroma of Lemongrass. The food was authentic and affordable, you can absolutely try it out here.

Tucked at one quiet corner at level 1 of Far East Plaza is a hidden find for halal Thai food. Operated by a group of Malay staffs, their store name shouts amazing Thai food. The curiosity in me as well as my constant crave for Thai food led me to try their food to see if they really live up to their name.I ordered my favourite Thai dish, the Phad Thai (choice of Chicken or Prawns), $4.50) to take away for lunch and it was nicely packed in a styrofoam box with chilli flakes an grounded peanuts placed by the side. The portion didn't look too fantastic... to my further disappointment, the phad Thai was dry and tough and while eating, I felt they left out something, the eggs. Bean sprouts and bean curd were almost non-existent too.To conclude, it wasn't too amazing after all but considering this is the Orchard area, prices for the food were kind of reasonable. Perhaps they have other better dishes? Well, maybe will give a try next time. Service wise, the staffs were very friendly and since all of them are Malay, it felt very homely at this cosy little eatery.
