Chanced upon this casual thai eatery and thus we settled our lunch here. At $5 only, this thai Basil Chicken Rice is worth the try. The basil meat is very fine and gravy is flavourful. The green curry chicken kway tiao is a disappointment though. The green curry lacks richness in taste and texture is too watery. It also tastes too sweet. The chicken is tender though and the kway tiao is smooth and has a springy texture. Lastly, I find that the chicken wings are a tad salty but the seasoning is flavourful and the chicken is tender too.

Ofira Amazing Thai Food is one of the restaurants at the basement of Far East Plaza. Not only was I curious, I was nursing this constant nagging craving for mango sticky rice even though I had one every two weeks in recent months. I have no idea why because every time I eat it, I get slightly disappointed but I know this dish can outshine a lot of other desserts given this magical combination. Well, Ofira continues to fail my expectations when it comes to this dessert... although this isn't a fair judgment to this popular eatery since I only ate one non-signature dish.

The portion given was very generous, I even had a large portion of Minced Chicken left after I am done with the rice. The minced chicken is a little spicy for those who cannot take heat. Fried with Basil leaves, there is a taste of spices which enhanced my appetite. There are also some long bean which added a little crunchiness and refreshingness to the meal.

I ordered my favourite Thai dish, the Phad Thai (choice of Chicken or Prawns), $4.50) to take away for lunch and it was nicely packed in a styrofoam box with chilli flakes an grounded peanuts placed by the side. The portion didn't look too fantastic... to my further disappointment, the phad Thai was dry and tough and while eating, I felt they left out something, the eggs. Bean sprouts and bean curd were almost non-existent too.

To conclude, it wasn't too amazing after all but considering this is the Orchard area, prices for the food were kind of reasonable. Perhaps they have other better dishes? Well, maybe will give a try next time. Service wise, the staffs were very friendly and since all of them are Malay, it felt very homely at this cosy little eatery.

One of my favorite Thai food is Kway Teow Soup.I had my lunch a hot bowl of the Chicken Kway Teow Soup from Ofira.Costs only $4.00. I love the thinly sliced, flat rice noddles in sweet soup. The soup taste is above average at affordable price. The chicken fillets and the ingredients inside are seasonable and fresh. They severed very quickly even during peak lunch hour, I waited about 5 minutes only.

One of my favourite dish at Ofira - The Thai Basil Chicken Rice. Minced chicken meat cooked with basil leaves and chilli, rice and one lovely omelet. It's slightly spicy (you can ask for extra spice if you can take it) and it goes well with the egg and rice. The minced chicken is usually quite "wet" meaning there is abit of gravy/sauce to soak your rice in. At $5, it's not too expensive and will fill you up.

Came back here again I ordered the green curry with rice this time.It came with 3 big pcs of tender chicken. The curry is quite delicious as they used right and quite nice ingredients. I love the flavour of the coconut milk and Thai brazil leaves. Actually, it was quite a lot for me to finish. Sosts $5 only and quite okay to try again.

I wouldn't have know there's actually a place selling thai food if it wasn't for them. One look at the place, it was quite small I feel. Not suitable for the whole office people to come down for a gathering lunch cos it will confirm be very crampy and step on each others leg while all you want is to sit down and enjoy your food, to fill your hungry stomach.

Anyway we didn't come in super huge group so we manage to sit down comfortably. The menu mainly served the usual thai food you can find in other thai food place. So, I decided to order something which is the super star among my friends - the thai basil minced chicken rice with a slice of omelet. I didn't want to add extra chili padi to the minced chicken so I just had it the normal version. Presentation of the dish is - on the left it is the egg. in the middle, the rice. Followed by the minced chicken.

The taste of this dish... mixed feeling. There isn't much of the basil taste, more that normal stirred fried minced chicken. The egg surprisingly tasted nice! The egg smell is so strong that it lingers in my mouth even after I had the chicken. Now I know why my friends love it to be extra spicy cos the normal version has no kick at all. I resulted in "kopping" the chili padi from their plates.

Beware that you might smell like some thai food after walking out from the shop. You might feel hungry just by smelling yourself.

Was at Far East Plaza doing some shopping. Wanted to grab some lunch so I decided to go for this small humble place serving thai food. From the many reviews here, I thought why not give it a try. The chicken part given was drumsticks and thighs, and they were tender and nice as well. At $6 (additional $1 for the egg), it was a not bad meal after all.
