Today's supper is the Fried Crispy Chicken Wings ($1.50 each) from Old Chang Kee. These were always sold out instantly whenever a new batch is produced. I'm lucky to be able to get them today - piping hot too!Although I didn't eat it immediately, they were still crispy after a couple of hours. The wings were rather huge and meaty, still retains some meat juice when torn apart... nice!

Today we're eating home cooked meehoon soup so I didn't buy takeaway main meal, just bought 2 sticks of sotong balls $1.50ea to keep us busy while waiting for dinner to be ready. Due to high turnover, Old Chang Kee's fried snacks are always hot/warm when I buy them. The sotong balls were still warm when I reach home. I like the fact that their sotong balls are always springy and had tiny bits of squid meat in it...nice. Some other places are just selling flour balls at lower prices.

Curry puffs used to be my must-buy when I visit Old Chang Kee.However this has gradually changed over the years and my must-buy now goes to.... Chicken Wings. Don't get me wrong though, I still like their curry puff. It's just that Chicken Wings is a new found love.$1.50 a pieceThe chicken skin is somehow always fried till puffy and crispy, but the meat never compensates (dries up) for the deep frying. Instead it remains tender and really juicy. As for the taste, the marinate tastes rather diffe

$1.50 a piece

The chicken skin is somehow always fried till puffy and crispy, but the meat never compensates (dries up) for the deep frying. Instead it remains tender and really juicy. As for the taste, the marinate tastes rather different from any other fried chicken wings. You've got to try it to know!

I like the curry puff. It is crunchy especially the folding parts. The skin is not too thick. The filling is curry potato. It is not too spicy. I am always looking for the small portion of egg hiding inside. It will be great if the egg is slightly bigger. It is still nice when it is not hot. The price has increased a lot due to inflation. I remember it is $0.80 15 years ago, but now it is $1.50. I prefer its soft squids than squids head. It is not too hard. However, it has a bit of fishy smell

It was about 4.15pm and i was feeling hungry as i had not taken my lunch. I decided to drop by Old Chang Kee for a light snack before dinner and there was already queue forming at Old Chang Kee when i was there.I ordered their famous curry puff, which had a crispy and fluffy puff pastry and delicious filling! I like how there are chunks of chicken in the filling and loads of potatoes!
