Decided to give it a try since is near the area and is lunch time. Order Mei Cai Kou Rou and steam salted fish egg. Mei Cai Kou Rou is tasty and is not oily and the meat is soft and easy to chew. Steam salted fish egg is delicious as the it blend well enough and able to taste the different ingredient that is in it. As for the rice, I should say they add too much water as is abit hard. Will come back to try on their curry chicken someday. continue reading

This is my all time favourite at Old Kim Guan, the traditional BBQ chicken wings! It definitely tastes as crispy as it looked, the chicken meat is pretty tender and soft too. Do remember to head down fast before dinner time as sometimes, the chicken wings can be sold out rather fast!Had the dry-stirred noodles for my main, though its appearance may look like a typical bak chor mee (minced pork noodles) at the hawker centre, but it tastes delicious! I love the chewy noodles that goes really well with the very flavoured minced meat, and not forgetting the sauce which makes everything good! The herbal chicken was great too, can taste the many hours of brewing herbal taste of the soup. Don't worry, it isn't as herbal and bitter as it sounds. The chicken itself is so smooth and I love drinking the herbal gravy on its own too. Best with white rice, or you can even try the popular glutinous rice too!All in all, came to know about OKG after working at an office nearby. Almost all the dishes are good, got a pretty heart-warming feeling to have them, they taste like those home-cooked food which you will miss when you are away from Sg. Definitely worth a try, or even many tries! continue reading
