The food court at junction 8 gets ridiculously crowded during lunch hours but turnover is really quick so you can get a seat within 10 minutes of walking around. This original delights stall serves zichar items such as fried rice, fried mee siam, hor fun, and rice with black pepper fish, sweet & sour pork and thai style fried chicken etc. Prices range from $5.20 and up, which is a bit pricey for a food court in Bishan but it's reasonable. The sweet & sour pork with rice cost $5.20 and it comes wi

The sweet & sour pork with rice cost $5.20 and it comes with a fried egg. The fried egg wasn't fried on the spot so nay to that -it wasn't too oily though, and complemented the whole dish well. The onions and pineapples provided a deliciously refreshing crunch to the dish and the sauce wasn't too starchy. When eaten with warm and fluffy rice, it went perfectly. My only gripe would be that the pork wasn't crispy and the meat wasn't too fresh -it tasted like frozen bits that were heated up in the sauce.

*Pity because the sauce did have some kind of potential.

The stall owners, however, are really really friendly, and service is really good here. You'll come back for their sincere smiles and effort to converse with you more than for their food.

Ordered hor fun for lunch. Cost me around $5. Taste: Gravy was thick with the added starch, with generous amount of egg whites but no egg yolk found, and was not too sweet. I can taste the mild shrimp flavour in the gravy. The veggies given was quite alot, healthy Kway teow is chewy and QQ, comes in thick slices and good for slurping up with the gravy~yummm There was also crabstick, chicken slices and fish cake provided.Overall: This hor fun was okay, nothing much to comment on. Overall: This hor fun was okay, nothing much to comment on. Makes a hearty and satisfying lunch, slurping up the kway teow together with the gravy, though I might not come back for more cuz I got bored eating halfway through.

ranging from Chicken with rice to Noodles.

It was dinner time, so the place was packed and noisy!
We tried the Fried Mee Siam and Hong Kong Noodle.
Clear corn soup was added at no extra charge.

Both dishes did not disappoint.
The Fried Mee Siam was not too spicy and had a mixture of ingredients and seafood -
diced tofu, egg, chives, bean sprouts, fish cake, prawns and cuttlefish.
The Hong Kong Noodle came with vegetables, egg and mock ham.
The Hong Kong Noodle was a little wet, but there was no gravy.
It tasted best when eaten that way.

The service at the stall was good and fast.
The portions were a little small, though.
Other than that, it is definitely worth going back again for.

One of the local delights that you can find in most food courts is the Sing Chew Been Hoon. Though the dish is common, not many places can produce fantastic ones. At Junction 8, it costs $4 for a serving of the been hoon. It tasted average therefore it did not leave a great impression on me.

I had fried carrot cake (white) for dinner. It was from the food junction food court. It costs $4 for the plate of carrot cake and an additional $0.20 for take away. The price was ok, reasonable for food court. The food was still hot when I reached home. It tasted quite good as it was not oily and salty. The aunty remained friendly, even after I had make requests for less oil and salt on the fried carrot cake. It was good that she remembered my food preference requests.
