Have a good laugh with the adorable Chipmunks movie fans and all of us enjoyed the outing last night, for such a weekday!

Conclusion: I somehow felt that the overall price for such pancakes was on the high side because all their pricings were more than tripple as compared with their Malaysia's outlets.

- Lamb shoulder marinated with herbs and grilled over the fire. Served with homemade zucchini onion pancakes, accompanied by mashed potato and yogurt mint sauce.
The lamb was sliced too thin, thus over-cooking causes the meat to taste tough and chewy. The herbs marinade managed to conceal partial of the mutton fats' stench but it's more perfect when you eat it with the yogurt mint sauce. For this dish, the zucchini & onion pancakes was the highlight. Pancakes were soft, with additional crunch from the zucchini and fragrant from the onions, it's more oomph having them alone.

- This huge tower of meat was made up of 1 chicken and 1 lamb minced meat patty. You do have the choice to choose 2 patties of the same kind. Chicken minced meat patty was tender, flavourful with slight char on both sides. Lamb tastes slightly inferior because of the mutton odour and patty was abit dry too. Homemade buns used in this burger was actually called the "sesame puffins". It is rather bland, definitely a healthier choice and contains buckwheat too. Other ingredients such as pineapple ring, avocado slices, tomatoes, grilled cheese and gherkins are also part of this tall burger. Side was french fries and dip given was salsa.

- Homemade crepes wrapped with turkey bacon, chicken, prawns, mushrooms and grilled mozerrella. Finished with creamy mushroom sauce drizzled on top. This is my favourite choice among the 3. The eggy crepes were very fragrant, having slight crisp on the outside, it's yum! Pairs really well with all the ingredients, I felt myself as if I'm enjoying cheesy thin crisp pizza!!
(4) Fruit Juice- Immune Zoom $7

- Fresh juice made up of Peach, apple, honeydew and cranberry. This combination tastes rather sweet but since it indicates to have "immune zoom" effect, I gulp the whole glass down without second thoughts.
Verdict: Food was average tasting and took more than 30mins to come. Ambience wasn't great too. The whole restaurant was really noisy during mealtime and not easy to chat with friends too. I admit pancakes, crepes are really their strengths but not the meat. It might take me very long time to come patronize again, unless it's for their pancake desserts.

Commited to serve quality, hearty, rich and wholesome pancakes meal, we decided to try their pancakes for teatime and every order takes about 20 min as it was cooked based by order. Thus a little patience is needed as time is required for the pancakes to be flipped. So Pancakes lovers, in PHOP you get to enjoy a good variety and authentic pancakes around the world too.

The short stack consists of 3 pancakes and we opted for the peaches and Hawaiian coconut with cinnamon and ice creams. Presentation was quite captivating with the stack of pancakes surrounded by coconut flakes, nuts and cinnamon powder, resembling a stranded island in the middle of no where. Maple syrup was separated and you can add them on the pancakes to suit your taste bud.

While I'm expecting some fluffy pancakes on the plate, PHOP was far off from what I wanted. Pancakes were about palm size but quite heavy dough like, not like the even texture we got from our friendly fast food restaurant, McDonald's. In fact, the texture was similar to the Chinese kind of "Mi Jiak Kueh" (Chinese Snacks), doughy and chewy, not my kind of style. Vanilla ice cream that topped the pancakes were creamy and melted quickly soon it felt the heat from the pancakes.

With all their sundaes uniquely served with dollar pancakes, its hard to to give them a try. If you are wondering what are dollar pancakes, they are actually pancakes with a size of your dollar coin. Taste reminded me of raspberry vanilla ice cream added with biscuit crumbs, one of my childhood ice cream flavours.

Aussie burger chicken ($16)

The puffins with homemade chicken pattie, onions, pineapple rings, gherkins, tomaoes, grilled cheddar, sunny side up egg & fries.

The sunny side up egg was cooked to perfection with the thick runny egg yolk in it. And if you burst the egg yolk with a fork, you will find the runny yolk came flowing out.

Cheesy Wedges & Fries - $8
We shared this bowl as starter. Firstly I thought those things above the fries were spam chips, but then I realized this restaurant was halal, and those things turned out to be crispy chicken bacon bits. The potatoes were fried properly, they're not oily, and the cheese sauce was superrrrr nice! Ooomphhh!

dollar pancakes with nuts, marshmallows, chocolate sauce and chocolate ice cream
These dollar pancakes may look tiny in size, but they gave me a heap! Seriously you gotta share this bowl, don't try eating one by yourself (like me, and I regret having it by myself). The pancake was fluffy and buttery, tasted really good when I mixed it together with marshmallows, chocolate sauce and ice cream. However, I couldn't finish this coz the pancakes given were too many. Imagine munching roughly 25 pieces of pancake!

If you're a fan of pancake, come to Paddington House of Pancakes. Once is never enough, you will need probably two or more visits to savor their wide selections of pancake!

Established in 2004 in Malaysia, Paddington House Of Pancakes is a speciality pancake restaurant, named after Paddington, in London, England, where the Malaysian founders said they had the world's best pancakes. Also known as PHOP, at Paddington House Of Pancakes, you're spoilt for choice, with 100 different pancake recipes from more than 10 countries worldwide, the extensive menu makes deciding very difficult, and repeat visits are a must. For our Chinese New Year reunion dinner 2015, we decided to visit Paddington House Of Pancakes.

Ambience at Paddington House Of Pancakes is casual, resembling a modern diner. Brightly lit, with an open concept, and a simple, plain solid colour scheme. Comfy black booths line the wall, while the rest of the spacious interior is lined with functional, sleek looking modern furniture. Communal dining is highly encouraged, the majority of layout is designed for groups, as is the large portion sizes of most dishes.

Service at Paddington House Of Pancakes is very good. I like that staff are professional and welcoming, greeting diners upon entry. They're quick to seat you, and are knowledgable enough to make recommendations if the extensive menu overwhelms you. Waiting time for food is about 10 - 15 minutes, but at least all your orders are served almost together. I also like that staff came around to check on how our meal was going, and asked for feedback.

Food at Paddington House Of Pancakes incorporates pancakes into every dish. Type of pancakes varies, they offer American flapjacks, French crepes, Russian blinis, Dutch pannekoeken, and more. Freshly cooked to order, the pancakes are tasty, and rather authentic. Most of the 100 different recipes on the menu are named after a city, country, or ingredient which inspired it. Portion sizes are rather large, and more than sufficient for 1 person. Prices are comparable to other upper mid-range cafes, budget about SGD $28 per person for a meal here.

The Full Monty (SGD $16) features savoury pastrami, chicken chipolatas, and turkey bacon strips, sandwiched between stacks of classic American flapjacks, topped with 2 sunny side up eggs. Served with mashed potatoes, baked beans, and mushroom onion gravy on the side, this is a really filling savoury breakfast dish. The flapjacks are soft and fluffy, and rather thick in size, pretty good! The rest of the ingredients are cooked properly, but somewhat average in taste. Decent dish overall.

Loved The Monaco (SGD $19) for their crisp zucchini and onion pancakes, which still retain the freshness of the zucchini in each bite. Served with mashed potatoes, and grilled lamb shoulders alongside a mint yoghurt sauce. Worth ordering for the vegetable pancakes alone!

Fluffy yet substantial, the layer was subtly sweet. Total of three stacks round thinly pancakes, each spoon was soft delighting. With the arrival of chilling Ice-cream, overall was refreshing immediately. Assorted fruits were put aside as dressing, drizzle of berries juice enlighten my taste buds. Perfectly hint of digestive crumbs, I did not regret ordering such dessert. To be honest, it was a pleasant visit. Serving was absolutely humongous, dessert was value for money.

From savoury to sweet pancakes, the menu is crazy extensive and it is not surprising to find yourself getting giddy with excitement as you flip through those pages with extremely vivid descriptions and mouthwatering pictures. Pancakes are usually my staple at breakfasts and brunches. Nothing says Good Morning better than a stack of pancakes and drizzle of maple syrup. BUT if sweet stuff arent your thing so early in the morning, the Oslo $18 just might be. An extremely generous serve of smoked salmon fashioned into a flower with green grilled zucchini as the bud, sitting on two spicy mashed potato pancakes and cheesy scrambled eggs at the side. This was absolutely irresistible to both the eyes and taste buds.

Putting a twist on Fish N Chips, the Alaska $15 is a great lunch or dinner option. And despite being a specialty pancake house, it came as a nice surprise that the battered dory fish had a nice crumb and crunch. The fish itself was also moist and fresh, an absolute delight with that squeeze of lemon. The Alaska also comes with spicy mashed potato pancakes and a creamy mushroom sauce with whole mushrooms at the side, making it a nice complete meal.

For sharing purposes, the Bombon Dollars $12 is a great choice. Served in a bowl with heaps of dollar pancakes, Oreo cookies, digestive crumbs, raisins, nuts and ice cream, this was the bomb. Dont forget to pour in the condensed milk for double the pleasure and double the indulgence.

My favourite that day came in the form of the simplest of names- Chocolate Roll $13. But before you dismiss it for being plain, give it a chance because it is anything but. Made with a Pannekoek which has Dutch/Belgian roots, the pancake was first smothered with peanut butter, Oreo crumbs, chocolate sauce and nuts before being rolled up into a Chocolate Roll. The end result which you bite into is an amazing combination of gooey, sweet, nutty and chocolatey. I liked how the chefs were not stingy with their ingredients at all and every bite was an oozing experience.

If you wish to stick with the traditional, then these Chocolate Chip Pancakes $11/$18, served with a scoop of ice cream, baby marshmallows, nuts and chocolate sauce should do the trick. It is back to the basics with this one and I am glad that despite all the elaborate and innovative creations, Paddington House of Pancakes still knows how to do a fine golden pancake that is crisp around the edges but fluffy in the middle.

Overall, Paddington House of Pancakes is an interesting dining experience that all pancake fans should not miss. It is also a fantastic opportunity getting to know the roots of different types of pancakes and finding out which one rocks your boat most. Oh yes and do bear in mind that all pancakes served here at Paddington House of Pancakes are prepared fresh daily and only flipped upon order so there might be a bit of a waiting time.

Provence.

The dish was not very palatable. Seeing as how my provencal styled tomato sauce was dumped in an ugly heap atop my chicken and cheese. Sigh. This made my pancakes soggy too. They really should just served the sauce on the side. Or at least leave the pancakes out of this. The wedges had a frozen taste to it and were served lukewarm. Honestly? I wasn't hungry anymore.

To be fair though, the chicken was a substantial portion. The sauce was savoury but I felt a pinch of sugar might've brought out the taste a little bit more. Since the cheese basically imparted all the saltiness and overtook the tangy taste of tomatoes in the sauce.

Barcelona.

Galette, made of buckwheat flour and paper thin. A pretty biscuit base but tasteless on its own. This was a slightly better option. The sauce and it's presentation was a lot better than the former. But the scrambled eggs were a dry pile looking entirely out of place on this pretty galette. *frowns. Quite the smattering of sausages and cheese. I loved the mushroom sauce and of course I'd have loved more of it.

The service was lacking though. We were one of the two tables dining at 3pm and our orders were left waiting on the counter, not served immediately. Our requests for water were delayed for as long as another two polite requests were made.

It wasn't like that on my previous visit. So what happened?

Cheesy fries & wedges with bacon bits (it was too yummy I’d forgotten the price) for appetizer; spicy potatoes pancake with an extremely pan-fried dory & fries served with mushroom sauce ($15) and spicy potatoes pancake with smoked salmon & cheesy scrambled eggs ($19) for our mains. I love the fish – both of them, and the lovely scrambled eggs.. However the mushroom sauce wasn’t really to my liking. For those of you who can’t take spicy, don’t attempt to try the pancakes. Way too filling and in the end I couldn’t really finish my dish. But there’s always room for dessert aren’t there? So we each orrdered a different flavour of Pancakes Sundae ($8) – Strawberry NewYork Cheesecake for myself and Orange marmalade swirl with lychee & peach for dear. Really loved the desserts and would definitely go back there for somemore!!

Paddington House of Pancakes is on my list of cafes to go/try and here I am finally! to satisfy my pancakes craving.

We were there on a weekday afternoon and the place was quite empty. Their menu is very extensive, featuring more than 100 different pancakes from countries all over the world!! There are both savory and sweet options and my friend & I really had a difficult time choosing. As we were craving for something sweet more than savory, we settled on the Strawberry New York Cheesecake Sundae - $8 and Chocolate Fondue - $15. The pancakes are made fresh on the spot and while we were waiting for the food to arrive, we took little snapshots of the cafe. I love the decor and ambience!

We were disappointed with the Chocolate fondue but the Strawberry NY Cheesecake is highly recommended! The chocolate fondue consist of dollar pancakes with banana, strawberries, cinnamon, nuts, marshmallows & ice cream served with a pot of hot chocolate fudge. There was nothing special about it, the chocolate fudge and ice cream tasted very ordinary. The strawberry new york cheesecake sundae, as well as the other sundaes, are served with dollar pancakes which I find them to be very cute and fluffy! I will be back again to try their savory pancakes!

We went by Paddington House of Pancakes after dinner and shopping on a week day It was about 9.15pm when we stood outside waiting to be served. We were kinda suprised when told that they were about to close. Oh, but their last order is at 9.30pm, so that was still okay. We went in and sat at a corner table. We went in and sat at a corner table. I always thought that the cafe is big but only realised it was the mirror that gave us all the illusion! There isn't a lot of tables but was okay if you go after dinner hours for desserts. I have seen and heard good reviews for the desserts on instagram so I have been wanting to give it a try!

There must be more than 40 choices of pancakes and crepes combinations listed on the menu!!! We simply have no idea where to start choosing from .

We decided on a stack of 3 pancakes topped with ice cream and some bananas after studying the menu for 5mins! There was this peanut butter caramel like spread to go with the pancake and bananas. Tasted really heavenly when eating all together!!

But anyhow, I am very happy with the tickets! We will go back for other desserts ..i am not too sure if the other food items are any good.. Perhaps can give it a try~!

I was so excited to see the variety of types of savoury pancakes available. 100 different kinds (or at least that was stated in the menu). We had the Pannekoek nachos for starters which are a type of Dutch pancake but cut to nacho size. And while in appearance it could pass the nacho-like test, they got soggy really quickly and unappetizing to eat. What’s more, there was hardly any salsa and only few spare bits of turkey (or could be chicken) bacon tossed in. NOT IMPRESSED. A total rip off.My h

NOT IMPRESSED. A total rip off.

My hubby had a burger, seemingly impressive-looking in the menu, but crumbly texture which did not add much in terms of flavor to the meal.

For dessert, we tried the plain pancakes with maple syrup and butter. The pancakes were nice, had good texture and were fluffy, so no complaints there. However, they had added sugar in the scoop of butter provided, so combined with the maple syrup, it did come off as a tad too sweet. It would have been better if only pure butter was used.

I’m afraid we won’t be coming back to this place…not when there are so many other Pancake restaurants to visit!

Came to know Paddington House of Pancakes from City Square Mall's website, so decided to give it a try since we are in that area. The mall seems quiet, maybe it's Xmas and Metro was not opened on that day, that's why not very crowded. The mall just opened this year, some of the shops still under renovation. Reached PHOP at about 630pm, there are only like 3-4 tables occupied. We were brought to this table facing the Apartment opposite and since it's full glass panel, it's quite bright. But I won

But I wonder if that seat will be very warm on sunny days. Mirror's reflection at the bar counter makes the interior seems bigger.

Their food pictures in the menu was so colorful and too much for me to choose. Cannot decide
Appetizers, Mains, Pancakes Burgers, Desserts, etc. Oh my... What caught my attention was that some items in the menu are named after states/cities, eg. Nice, Minnesota, Colorado, Vienna, etc.

2 pancakes, 2 nicely done sunny side ups, ham and baked beans. Pancakes with too much flour taste (to me).

Serving is HUGE and if I remember correctly, it's not in the main course list. Grilled Chicken+capsicums+mushrooms wrapped with omelette/crepe (a mixture of egg & pancake batter). I would recommend to share this instead of eating it alone. Too heavy...

Together with 2 drinks, the bill added up to about S$42, inclusive of service charge & GST, quite alright. But would love to try the desserts, looks nice.
