Before our main course we ordered the mushroom soup, and i have to say its like the most atas mushroom soup i have ever had. It was quite thick but super nice with a strong taste of truffles in it. I think it adds a lot of flavour to the mushroom soup. It also had little bread crumbs in it which i felt added texture to the soup.

Shortly after came the main course. I ordered pasta and man i think it was the best pasta i have had in a long shot. It was super creamy and there was again the truffles and crayfish. So even though it was a lil' expensive, like $28 for one serving, it was still pretty worth it. But there was a little downside. Midway through the meal i got a little sick of the taste and so i didn't finished all of it. I did finish the pasta though.

Great ambience though most of the guests seems to be dressed in t-shirts and shorts. Maybe cause its located in a hotel thus the attire. Anyway hotel guests get to enjoy a discount off their total bill which made the meal really worth it. The service was excellent too. Everyone is served at the same time.

Once we were shown to our seats, the manager asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. I thought this meant that they don't serve normal water for free but I saw later on that they actually do!!! I felt really cheated after that as the bottle of still water cost $9 for 1 litre. Hence please beware and just ask if they serve normal water at any restaurant that you go to.

After you've placed your order, you will be served toast with chilled salsa. This was simple but so yummy I wish I had more! The toast was crispy but light and soft on the inside, and the chilled salsa had subtle herb flavours and was very refreshing due to its cold temperature.

Appetizer - Prosciutto e Melone
This is a classic Italian appetizer consisting of sliced rock melon paired with parma ham, topped with some salad leaves and fig compote. The sweetness of the rock melon and saltiness of the parma ham went together very well.

Appetizer - Caprese
Another classic Italian appetizer, the Caprese consists of Italian buffalo mozerella cheese and vine ripened tomatoes. The cheese and tomatoes were both juicy and very light and refreshing on the palate. Loving both the appetizers

Linguine with Asparagus in Pesto
Pesto is a kind of sauce made of basil... The ones I've tried before had really strong basil taste hence I expected this to be the same. However for this dish, the basil taste and fragrance was extremely subtle. The pasta/sauce was also tasteless and I felt as though the chef had forgotten to add the salt. The linguine was good though, which was al dente. The asparagus was nice and crunchy and the cherry tomatoes were juicy but I wished the vegetables portion was more.

Pizza with Bak Kwa and Floss
This pizza really reminded me of the Lunar New Year as it consisted of bak kwa, pork floss and chilli bits, but it wasn't too spicy. This was ok just that the toppings made the pizza really un-Italian. It was more like a Singapore flavoured pizza.

Their food is generally good but perhaps the pasta and pizza we had chosen were not their specialties. Wouldn't mind giving them another try next time.

We were quite disappointed with the pizza. Firstly, there was not much seafood, then the only big piece of salmon that I could see was badly burnt that I dare not eat. The pizza tasted quite good but sadly it was burnt on the bottom. It was so bad that it tasted bitter. For our health concern, we do not want to eat carbon ! We finished our meal with Tiramisu as dissert. But it was nothing special as there was not much liquor tastes.

Service was prompt at the beginning when the restaurant was not crowded.

- Complimentary bread

The serving size of the ravioli was very small and I admit I was a bit disappointed at first. But on the first bite..wow, it's excellent! The flavours were intensely rich with every bite. One of the best ravioli dishes I've had. The ravioli pasta was not too thick and you could really taste the stuffing within. The truffle cream sauce was also very yummy.

- Ravioli stuffed with mushroom & cheese in a truffle cream sauce

The signature pizza had a lot of fresh seafood like mussels, scallops, prawns and squid. The crust was thin and crispy. A tad on the salty side for the seasoning of the seafood but generally great-tasting.

Seafood Pizza, the pizza crust is crispy and thin, the seafood topping is fresh. I drizzle some cheese powder and vinegar dressing on the pizza and it really enhance the taste better.

Palio is famous for their wood fired pizza. We ordered the Venere ($34), a tomato-based pizza topped with sauteed mussels and clams, lots of Stracciatella cheese. However, it turns out to be quite disappointing. The pizza could be slightly more flavourful, and it's a bit too cold when served.

Dessert wise, we had Tiramisu Originale ($14) and Cioccolato Amaro ($12). Tiramisu tasted pretty good! The espresso coffee steeped ladyfinger biscuits layered with Mascarpone cream cheese! Heaven.

On the other hand, cioccolato is the fine chocolate mousse with raspberry ganache, served with the crunchy hazelnut biscuit and chocolate gelato. Not bad, but i have eaten a better one elsewhere.

There was a special dessert of the day when we were dining here which I tried. It was an orange meringue tart served with white chocolate ice cream. Unfortunately it was quite a disappointment. The tart meringue was not smooth and tasted old. The ice cream that came with the tart was also pretty icy and the garnish was extremely bitter tasting probably from overcooking in the oven.

Palio has really good pizzas and pastas. Order a main for yourself and a pizza to share. The desserts here are also quite impressive. I had a chocolate tart with cocoa sorbet and hazelnuts. The tart had a crispy base paired with a very rich heavy chocolate filling very decadent. The sorbet was really good too. It was smooth and creamy and complemented the tart very well.

Had a wonderful experience dining at Palio restaurant which is located in Hotel Michael.

If you are truffle oil lover, you should try this pizza. I can taste the truffle oil in every bite of the pizza. Just simply delicious!

Beside the fact that the food tasted good, the high service standard of this restaurant is also something worth mentioning. As we were using Resort World Voucher (which is of standard denomination) to pay for the meal, the restaurant manager highlighted to us that we can still order more food or drinks so as not to waste the voucher, given that they will be able to refund us in cash for those left over amount. He took the effort to help us calculate the left over amount (after deducting the 10% service charge and 7% GST) and suggested to us the food and drinks which we can order. I am really impressed with his patience and service attitude.

The pizza made there has original Italian flavor. All the ingredients are imported from Italy. I specially like the Pizza Michael served with seafood, which is very delicious! The oven for baking pizza is in the open area that you can see how the chef prepare the pizza from scratch. I heard that they're also offering set lunch. They also serve dozens of wine list that most are imported from Italy. Really a nice Italian restaurant.
