On savoring a great meal on national day, we chose Palm Beach Seafood for their set meal of $88++/pax. Seafood Deluxe CombinationFor this seafood combination, you'll be treated to the 5 treasures of the sea, namely: Hokkaido scallop, huge gleaming oysters, fresh salmon sashimi, bamboo clam and live poached prawns. It's served in cold and the freshness is awesome! Do squeeze the lemon over the dish as it helps to reek off the fishy-smelling in seafood.Herbal ChickenThis herbal chicken is soaked in the herbal soup such that it has a great deal of the herbal taste. The herbal soup is tasty but a little oily.Shark's Fin SoupUnlike the usual shark's fin soup, Palm beach has a special way of cooking it such that it came in individual claypot, with the lobster meat and shark's absorbing the essence of the flavourful stock.Pan-Fried Soon HockAccompanied with light soya sauce, the pan fried soon hock taste a little salty, though the crispiness of the fish goes well with such combination.Signature Chilli CrabA must-try dish as it's one of their signature dish. Goes well with those fried buns!Hong Kong NoodlesLike the usual noodles served outside, this dish is quite a plain jane as compared to the other seafood delicacies.Fruit PlatterAn ending for today's feast is the great fruit platter which consists of mangosteens, water apples, mango, pineapple, and guava. A huge fruit platter indeed!Palm beach is a great place to dine in, especially during those special occasions like National's Day, New Year's Eve where one will be treated to the spectacular fireworks. The magnificent skyline of the Marina Bay is a great appetizer for one's eyes as you indulge in the feast. However, do make reservations during such peak seasons as walk-in customers may need to wait up to a few hours. In one word, I sum up on the feast: Marvelous! continue reading

It was my birthday celebration with another group of friends. We been walking to and fro along the fullerton area, deciding which restaurant to go. We were here outside Palm Beach at first, but didnt want to dine there because it was fully packed and the long waiting time. But after walking to and fro, we were here outside the restaurant again, we then decided to wait for the seats as their food seem rather attractive to me. Well, we waited around 15mins for our seats and were happy to get the outdoor seats with a spectacular MBS view infront of us! Can see that their signature dish was their a variety of crab dishes as everyone were enjoying their crabs. As im not a crab lover, decided to try out their other dishes instead. We have ordered a drunken prawns, stuffed you tiao (cant remember the exact name), fried kang kong and a seafood hor fan.All were extremely delicious. I loved the drunken prawns the most! It was very very fresh. Tasted like live prawns that were just being cooked. It was so springy and the soup tasted really nice and has a rather nice herbal taste! Wow, and the portion was really big! Look at that bamboo pot! It was covered with so much prawns and soup!Another recommended dish is that 'stuffed you tiao', it tasted yummy! The you tiao was so crispy and fresh and the stuffed ingredients was tender and fresh!Really love the nice view and foods here! Recommended! continue reading

This popular seafood restaurant has a host of accolades under their name. Fans of Palm Beach would probably remember their days @ Leisure Dome, Kallang. Huge sitting space with 2 floors, simple & no frills décor……. Most importantly, their reasonable prices & good food, which attracted a following of loyal customers, like myself. Our first course was the Crispy Baby Squid from S$10 – S$20. It's a simple plate of deep-fried calamari with honey. Beer lovers would probably like to have this munchies to go along. Piggy & Bessy from S$18 – S$36. I don’t know why the funny name but the slices of pork fillet sure tasted better than its name. They're marinated with a tinge of vinegar, so the tender fillets tasted a little sweet & sour. The dish also comes with a plate of steamed buns. Double-Baked Crab Ala Singapura is an award-winning dish @ the S’pore Food Festival @ about S$60 for each 1.5kg crab. If you’re a cheese lover or tired of eating the same old Chilli/Black Pepper Crabs, this one’s for you. The chef uses mouth-watering Sri Lankan crab & bake with cheese to perfection. The baked crab has a touch of crispiness on the outside & when you bite into it, it has the freshest juicy meat. Food is good here but honestly, the restaurant lacks service. Though I’ve a couple of bad experiences there, it has never stopped me for returning. I’ve been their fan since their Kallang days & that was more than 15yrs ago. If you don’t mind their slow & unpolished service, this is the place to go for good food. continue reading
