Bought a piece of this mini chix mushroom pie for my tea break.  The pie puff texture was quite fluffy but alittle too oily as in less than 5 mins the paper bag is soon soaked with lots of oil.  The chicken meat is tender and filled with the nice fragrant from the diced mushroom cooked in it.  At $1.20 is abit expensive as portion is rsther small.  Service is quite friendly and stall is clean.  continue reading

I was looking for some light snack and chanced upon pancake king, and the large sign with newspaper clippings attracted my attention. They sell a variety of food, like fried sesame balls, and even western style chocolate walnut cake, etc. But as the name suggested, one has to try their pancake. The peanut pancakes here are my favorite thing! Costing only 0.90 cents per piece, they are really affordable and accessible for everyone to enjoy on a regular basis. The pancakes are really fluffy and soft with crisp edges which are a joy to savour. The filling is pretty traditional with a sandy mixture of ground peanuts and sugar fragrant and delicious tasting. On a whole, one of the better min chiang kuehs out there! continue reading
