Agreed my friend’s decision, I joined the short queue at PappaRich for our lunch. Very budgeted way to spend here, the concept was quite similar with Oldtown Coffee. Selling Malaysian Cuisine basically, Menu was extensive.Nice presentation, it looked neat and tempting. My favourite thickly spicy-gravy chicken, the flesh was tender without being overcooked. Rice wise, it was too mushy for me yet with nicely coconut milk fragrance. Hard-boiled egg accompanied along, cucumber slices and some fried peanuts, the portion was definitely more than enough. Common sense, all their items are subject to 10% service charges and 7% GST. continue reading

Was shopping at Parkway and doing some banking transactions. After money came in already so decided to go try eat Pappa Rich as I haven’t tried it since it opened.I ordered Fried Rice Special with Fried Chicken Drumstick and Soya Milk Grass Jelly. Interesting presentation was how neatly displayed on a plate as the peas/carrots/shallots are not mixed into the fried rice (in case you are a picky eater) , however my 2nd impression was how small the portion was, while the bowl of curry and 3 sliced of cucumber laid flat on the plate and hogged the space! The egg was well fried and wasn’t oily. Massive sized fried chicken was very crispy and on that first bite tears open a beautiful “wound” of tenderness and juiciness. The curry was great for dipping with the chicken or to be mixed with the fried rice if you like them wet. Soya Milk Grass Jelly was refreshing, but it was a little diluted and I regretted buying as I would rather buy from a Milk Tea Café which easily supersedes in taste , portion and money’s worth. Overall pleasant dining experience but cost doesn’t justify. PappaRich eat too much already become poor. continue reading

My friend suggested this place, which I have not heard of.We were pretty satisfied with the service and food. The signature nasi lemak has got really good chicken. Crispy, yet not overly oily. I had the chicken curry with bread, and was surprised at how fluffy the bread was. Great curry too (too bad the curry is too little!). continue reading

Well, we visit here since it is new to us. Dish here is quite pricey. For its portion and the quality, I dont feel like it worths SGD 10+. Foodcourt downstairs could even do better than them... We ordered one Nasi rice with curry chicken+braised beef+squid (SGD 15.9). Squid was cold and the general dish was just warm not hot enough (bad). The second dish we ordered was rice noodles with steamed chicken (SGD 10.9). A very ordinary dish which doesn't taste any special at all. Indeed, not far the foodcourt downstairs I can find cheaper rice noodles with steamed chicken... however, drinks here are quite good (pricey though, it could be a meal!). I especially like the mocha red bean drink (SGD 5.9), very creative and nice! continue reading
