Struggling with choices, my partner and I finally settled with Strawberry Fell in Love. The name was tempting but the taste was a let-down. The cake was far too sweet and we both agreed that it was nothing but a block of sugar and we could hardly taste the strawberries. However, the small piece of Rose Macaroon which was part of the decoration was surprisingly delicious and fragrant. Oh My Baby Crepe was the other pastry we decided to give a try and unfortunately, it did not taste as good as its name sounds too.

The crepe was very bland with slight touch of sweetness from the cream and strawberries in between the layers of crepe. It tasted alright but nothing fantastic and did not capture our hearts. After a few mouthful, the crepe gets really dry and soon we were sick of it to continue.

In terms of drinks, I went with the Lemon Ade that was the perfect drink to tackle the hot afternoon. The fizzy drink had a strong taste of lemon that was not overpowering and the sourness was just right; not too sour, not tasteless either. My partner on the other hand ordered a drink consists of a mixture of kiwi and orange that was way too sour to our liking.

We ended our tea with the Original Royal Pudding and Caramel Royal Pudding. I preferred the original flavour as it tasted not as sweet as the caramel version but both versions were very tasty and was definitely worth our trip down. The cold pudding was creamy and smooth and melted in our mouths as though we gave our mouths a cooling spa.

In conclusion, the one thing worth my return visit to Paris Baguette Café was their pudding only but their bread products are really popular among customers too thus on my next visit, I will probably give them a try.

Caramel flavours - $4.50
Original - $4

Weird thing is that this cafe is opened to free seating and as long as you can find a seat, you'll just grab it. no reservation, no queuing.

Special mention for Seafood Chowder which I think would be pretty worth it with a fat little prawn sitting atop the bread bowl holding soup. Definite plus points for the pleasing presentation style.

A little too expensive in my budget-range but if you're feeling a little indulgent and generous with yourself, go get yourself one of these delightful edible art. Noting that Paris Baguette does not originate from Paris but South Korea, Running Man fans will realize that little easter eggs are hidden in the naming of the cake flavours!

It wouldn't be entirely accurate to differentiate between interior or exterior of the place because Paris Baguette is quite an open-concept café allowing shoppers to mill around and take peeks at the food inside.

This is a love-at-first-sight choice, the Strawberry Pyramid! It is so pretty, with a shiny strawberry sitting right at the top with the icing frosting ... I want it! Upon eating, I realized it looked much nicer than it tasted. Oh well, guess the presentation raised my expectations too high. While the strawberry itself was sweet and juicy, the little stacks of bread were a little tough to bite and I wasn't a fan of the powdery frosting either. They compromised on the taste for the sake of the presentation... Hmm.

The Italian Vegetable Calzone was a wild card I drew from the selection of pastries available. I was trying to go for something unexpected and indeed it is! This unassuming little pocket of vegetables had spunk in it - chili - which gave this pastry an unpredictable edge. The more I ate it the more I liked it. I took out all the chili bits because I don't really take spicy food, but surprisingly it still leaves a lingering spicy taste throughout that complemented the vegetables and was quite enjoyable. The description for this dish did not state that it was spicy at all, so take your picks carefully or ask first! ;)

The service at Paris Baguette is prompt, polite and efficient. However there were some flies in the place which were irritating. They could do better in that aspect.

I would try their specialty, the Paris Baguette Pudding ($4), the next time I visit this place. That leaves some space for anticipation!

It was a weekday afternoon and Paris Baguette was not as crowded as it is on weekends so my girlfriend and i decided to head over for a light tea. I let her go order and choose the cake. She came back with this multi-layered crepe cake. apparently we both thought the name was pretty unique, it was called "oh my baby crepe". the crepe cake was really good. it was not too sweet. they did not add a lot of cream in between the crepe layers. as a whole i am satisfied.

I stopped by Paris Baguette to grab myself the next day breakfast. I got the Pain Au Chocolat. It was in fact chocolate puff. the puff has the same texture as a croissant. the chocolate inside the puff was not too sweet, it was kind of bitter sweet instead. the puff was light and crispy. it was slightly glazed on the outside, so if you eat the puff by itself, it would have tasted really good already. i really hope they open more outlets.

I feel this picture does not do justice to how large this Apple Danish is! It is larger than my palm. When I first bought it, I could not believe the price of this Apple Danish! It only cost $3.50. The pastry is really delicious, very crispy and glazed. It makes you want to eat mouth after mouth. they were very generous with the toppings. There were so many pieces of apples. The apples were caramelized. The raisins were fat and juicy. it was really filling for a pastry.

The cake was made up of layers of crepe, in between the crepes, there were cream. they topped it of with a raspberry. i was surprise to see that they took the effort to actually squeeze jam into the mini raspberry. i think cos the raspberry itself is very sour, so the jam kind of balance out the sourness. the crepe cake is not too sweet, and they did not add a lot of the cream too. as a whole i thought it was really good.

Was quite disappointed when I came here, thought that it was supposedly the top bakery/cafe in Korea, but it turned out that the service was actually quite bad. I ordered mocha and latte, but the waiter who served them to me doesn't even know which is which, and even took quite a while to get back to me. The pastry I had was apple pecan bread. It was super hard. They provided me with knife and fork but I couldn't even cut into them after 10 minutes of trying.

The royal pudding is too watery - we had better elsewhere. The monkey bread is walnuts intensified - probably more suitable for fans of walnuts. It has this sticky texture - not sure if its brown sugar - it is too sweet for our liking.

The Chocolate Blanc was fancy artisan talk for bread with white chocolate. But boy, did it deliver! The custard-like texture of the milky white chocolate complemented the soft fluffy white bread surrounding it.

My 2nd piece of bread was quite a mouthful to order - Dark Brown Brioche embracing caramel. But it was quite worth the effort just in terms of uniqueness alone. Topped with a buttery sugar coat, the dark brown outer crust was both crispy and savoury. Breaking the bread in half, I was treated to a stark contrast. Where the crust was nearly crunchy, the insides was still soft and downy, with a lining of caramel nestled within the bread that added that additional flavour and sweetness.

To top it all off, I had the White Coffee pudding. It had great texture, and the pudding itself was thoroughly infused with coffee. For that additional kick, you could even dig down to the base of the bottle used to serve the pudding, and spoon up additional licks of coffee.

Prices are slightly above your average bakery, but still acceptable. I'm looking forward to my next visit and my next taste test

The sandwich counter was packed with various ready-to-go sandwiches such as the Ultra Club Sandiwch ($8.50), Double Ham & Egg Sandiwich ($8.00), Italian Ciabatta Sandwich ($7.00), and salads like Oriental Chicken Salad ($8.50) and Tuna Nicoise Salad ($8.50).

The Phat Thai Noodle Salad is rice noodles with shrimps, grilled chicken and vegetables with chilli lime dressing. The chilli lime dressing was geared towards the sweet palette, but the salad was excellent. The dressing went well with the rice noodles and the prawns were wonderfully fresh with wild rocket leaves thrown in for enhanced flavour.

The Mini croissant sandwich pack comprises of two ham and cheese croissants and an egg and bacon croissant. The croissant is more sweet than savory, and we thought it complimented the fillings well. The fact that they were bite-sized made them excellent for sharing.

There are other items on the menu such as breakfast/brunch dishes like Scrambled egg brioche ($18), Ratatouille steak ($21) and Cheese Omelette with a Difference ($18). We also spotted a pretty selection of cakes at the counter. We loved what we had and we'd be back for more!

With the first bite, the glaze gave the crust an initial sweetness before the flakiness of the layer bread sets in. The chocolate filling was visible, could have been more ample...
