Royal Pudding had been really popular on social network such as Instagram and finally it was time to fulfil my tongue’s curiosity. The entire café was really crowded even though it was a weekday afternoon and there were barely any empty seats. Paris Baguette café offers a wide variety of pastries including bread, sandwiches, wraps etc. There were also huge selections of cakes for sweet lovers to choose from including their famous Royal Pudding. Struggling with choices, my partner and I finally settled with Strawberry Fell in Love. The name was tempting but the taste was a let-down. The cake was far too sweet and we both agreed that it was nothing but a block of sugar and we could hardly taste the strawberries. However, the small piece of Rose Macaroon which was part of the decoration was surprisingly delicious and fragrant. Oh My Baby Crepe was the other pastry we decided to give a try and unfortunately, it did not taste as good as its name sounds too.
The crepe was very bland with slight touch of sweetness from the cream and strawberries in between the layers of crepe. It tasted alright but nothing fantastic and did not capture our hearts. After a few mouthful, the crepe gets really dry and soon we were sick of it to continue. In terms of drinks, I went with the Lemon Ade that was the perfect drink to tackle the hot afternoon. The fizzy drink had a strong taste of lemon that was not overpowering and the sourness was just right; not too sour, not tasteless either. My partner on the other hand ordered a drink consists of a mixture of kiwi and orange that was way too sour to our liking. We ended our tea with the Original Royal Pudding and Caramel Royal Pudding. I preferred the original flavour as it tasted not as sweet as the caramel version but both versions were very tasty and was definitely worth our trip down. The cold pudding was creamy and smooth and melted in our mouths as though we gave our mouths a cooling spa.
In conclusion, the one thing worth my return visit to Paris Baguette Café was their pudding only but their bread products are really popular among customers too thus on my next visit, I will probably give them a try.
