Previously I was enjoying a wonderful Laksa, then now I had a sudden craving for it. Searching Laksa stall for lunch today anyway, I spotted a Pasir Ris Laksa and decided to try it out. Everything was well-maintained, stall appeared neat and clean. Staff was a polite and soft spoken lady, I could hardly hear what was saying. As I took a mouthful spoon of soup, it was creamy yummy and heart-contented. The bowl was infused with spices fragrance, yet not excessively heavy. Slightly sweet with a hint of spicy sambal chilli, noodle was perfectly matched with gravy. Fresh shrimps, hard-boiled egg, fried tofu and beansprouts were added in, portion was rather generous. Seriously, at $8.50 per serving, the bowl of Laksa probably was the most expensive amongst those food court stall in town. continue reading

I don't know if you guys noticed the stall names, but Pasir Ris Laksa took over another laksa stall called Zhen Shan Mei Laksa. Both specialize in the same dish and both at the exact same location. So I should think that most people don't even realize it at all. I was quite disappointed because i loved the laksa from Zhen Shan Mei. If I'm not wrong, they both price it the same as well, at $6.90 a bowl. I could only hope that at the same price, this one will taste just as good.Surprisingly, it won my vote and it tasted very similar too. With its rich and fragrant laksa gravy, fresh prawns and cockles, and thick beehoon noodles that were as they call "al dante", this bowl of laksa made me a very satisfied customer.Served with the right proportion of noodles and gravy, i couldn't help but to finish everything and polish my bowl clean. continue reading
