I want to have a quick lunch before go to watch movie. I wanted to eat the Penang prawn noodle from this stall. The noodle is $3.80. The presentation is quite boring. The portion is quite good but the taste is disappointing. It has not much taste of chilli and with very little sauce. The prawns did not taste too fresh also. It has also some fishcake too. Its taste is like the normal prawn noodle. The taste of soup is also diluting.

The hokkien mee costs S$6 with a 10% discount using the Kopitiam Card. It is reasonably value for money as it is in a filling, big portion. It can lasts you through hours .The taste, I really like the sauce. It is not very salty. I can also conclude that they did not add a lot of MSG as I don't feel thirsty after eating the mee. I like the prawn, the prawn is fresh. I myself love eggs, it would be better if there's more eggs !

So i purchase this package of mee goreng from this shop. I would say this mee goreng is very tasty. It very different from other stalls that you purchase. Reason is because this is alot fragrant and tasty. I think its the way how the person fry the noodle. Other than the usual ingredients, the shop owner also garnish cucumber as well. Other than the mee goreng. i would say the char kway tiao is not bad as well.

Penang LaksaThe Penang laksa is not the Singaporean type laksa which is more to curry flavour. Penang Asam Laksa is more to sour and the are a lot of fish meat inside the soup. Their laksa is not too spicy that leaves you sweating after the meal, it is just right to keep you going on until the very last mouthful! YUMMMMMS!

I am still in search for good Penang fried kway teow in Singapore. For those that i have tried so far have been quite disappointing including this particular one. At least this one got the spiciness that distinctly differentiate it from the local style fried kway teow. it was fried with cockle, bean sprouts, egg and 2 pieces of prawns but the cockles were a little overcooked. I got the impression that the authentic Penang fried kway teow does not fried along with cockles. And, the ultimate turn

I got the impression that the authentic Penang fried kway teow does not fried along with cockles. And, the ultimate turn off was the stone like thingy found amidst the fried kway teow.

Anyway, this particular one did not meet my expectation thus this is going to be yet another one time off experience. You can give it a try if you have never try the real thing in Penang but if you do then you can forget about this stall.

Not recommended.
