Came to this shopping mall with my good friend for window shopping and also at the same time to have lunch. Lunch hours was quite crowded in this restaurant and we decided to have this for lunch as my friend was very craving for some teriyaki chicken. For both the main course we have ordere comes with a free pepsi.  Rice is fragrant but portion was too little.  The chicken meat was quite tender and juicy, however not much teriyaki sauce was used which make this course quite plain.  THe beef meat was fortunately quite tasty and easy to chew.  THe restaurant is quite cosy and comfortable.  Service here is quite friendly and polite too. continue reading

I headed to Pepper Lunch for dinner as it was nearby and noticed that they offered student meals.I got the Curry Chicken Pepper Rice with Cheese ($6.50) with also comes with a drink of choice. Its quite like a restaurant style concept where you place your orders and you will be directed to your table and the order served to you. This way it ensures that there are enough seats etc.I think i waited around 5 minutes for this. I quickly mkxed the ingredients in to get the end result:Tadaaa~ looks sumptious eh. I think there are curry cubes in it which you will then mix with the rice and other ingredients. I like the corn cause there is some crunchiness to it. When left too long, some of the rice will become a bit burnt. Good if you quite like the chaota (burnt) taste. Overall i think its a relatively good deal considering this is Pepper Lunch. continue reading

Curry chicken pepper at $9.90 and top up only $3 for a drink and a mashed potatoes! I really love the curry chicken a lot with soft texture from the fats. The juicy corn and cheese makes the whole dish prefect! I choose ice green tea with no sugar which is nothing really special, but for those whom are on diet, this will be recommended. The mashed potatoes was slightly salty to my taste bud but still nice. This is one of the bigger pepper lunch store in Singapore i guess! Worth visiting for the spacious and nice ambient. continue reading

The place is packed because I visited on a Friday. Queue is long but it is worth the wait. They will give you the table reservation once you reached the counter to order. The food is served hot which is something I appreciate a lot. But you need to add some spices and sauce to suite your taste. Overall rating is good. The burger steak is also nice. continue reading

TADA! Here is my first pepper lunch dinner at JEM! There is a super long queue during dinner time, so my friend and I actually queue for 15minutes before,we get to order our food. The staff there were all very polite and passed me a table number card before I get in to assure that i do not have to wait for any seat. I like concept of pepper lunch; make the payment at the cashier then process into the stall to wait for your food. Well, when I first step in, my first reaction was "WOW", this is not the usual pepper lunch outlets, the design of the store and cleanliness is far better and nicer than the other store. It was also much more spacious as compare to the other outlets. Next is the food I ordered, it took around 7-8 minutes to serve my food, which i think is alright as there is a lot of people in the stall. I ordered Chicken pepper rice with pepper as i am not a pepper lover and on top of that, I topped up $3 for a drink and side dish (which i choose the salad). I was served with my salad and peach tea first which waiting for my main dish. The salad was nice especially with the sesame oil that they provided, there was also some cheese spread on top, which leaves a strong cheesy aftertaste. The vegetable are all very crunchy and juicy, just that the cherry tomato was slightly too sour. The iced peach tea was also nice, but I guess it was just some syrup drink. Lastly, my chicken pepper rice came with no pepper. I poured a honey mustard on it. The chicken was soft and well cooked but I think it was marinated with pepper, so there were some peppery taste. The sizzling hot plate actually cause some of my rice to turn charred but is still nice. Total i spent $12.50 for my dinner with main dish, drink and dessert! continue reading
