It was a pretty small outlet, with the interior seating of probably around 15 to 20 pax, and even though they're named Pies & Coffee, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they do have some pretty looking desserts as well, just that their pies were indeed filling and on both occasions I dropped by, I didn't have sufficient stomach space to try out any of their sweet treats.

Even though not exceptionally affordable, all their pies are still reasonably priced at $10 ish or so.

Chicken Cheddar Pie

The pie crust is crumbly crisp with a hint of buttery toasted fragrance, and the pie filling so moist with generous amount of gravy, yet doesn't soften the pie crust that much.

A snap to show you just how moist the filling was. It was almost like a soup bowl, no kidding! The filling was packed full of cheesy goodness with quite a generous chunks of chicken that was cooked till it has soaked up the cheesy savoury flavour of the gravy.

Other than Chicken Cheddar, I've also tried their Lamb Shank and Chicken & Mushroom Pies, out of which the latter has paled in comparison as compared to the other two.

Hot Honey Yuzu Tea

Frankly speaking, I have no idea why they served a piece of chocolate cookie along with my honey yuzu tea.

And on a side note, Pies and Coffee uses Toby Estate's roasted coffee beans, so all coffee lovers out there, do remember to get a cuppa coffee when you're here!

After having our waffles and ice-cream at LICK, my friends and I decided to adjourn to "Pies and Coffee" for some coffee and relax. The whole place looked very clean and the pies on display looked very tempting. I would definitely like to try out their pies some other time. I ordered the flat white but a pity, it didn't come with any coffee art. However, it was very nicely layered as you could see from the photo. I enjoyed the simple moment here with good company.

The best pie here is definitely the wagyu cheek pie. It is full of chunks of moist and delicious beef meat which fall apart with the slightest pressure. The beef is super tender and you barely have to chew it. The crust is also very yummy being crumbly and buttery. Its quite amazing how it doesn't break before you eat it since it is so delicate! High prices of $10/pie and small portions though.

So far I prefer the Banana Tart, the banana smell was very nice and is soft and yummy. Chocolate one is too rich for me. As for Pecan Pie, I don't really like it as there were too much nuts in it. I shall try their savoury pies next time when I visit their place which is near to my office!

This cafe only serves gourmet pies, coffee and tea too! The pie selection is pretty extensive with both savory and sweet pies available. The pies are pretty good in terms of taste, the chicken pie I had being flavourful with moist chunks of juicy chicken inside. The pastry was buttery and crumbly, and the mash was smooth and creamy too. Yet the portions are not very big so I wasnt very full.

1st visit to this cafe (as recommended by a good fren), and a 2nd visit in < 1 wk! What a gem! My dumb dumb 1st visit was concluded with a LARGE slice of Carrot Cake and Strawberry Banana Smoothie. It didn't taste so sweet anymore (w/o e smoothie) and all the stuff within is makin me craving for a 3rd visit already!

Having mentioned that mind-blowing cake, I must make special mention of the Creamy Seafood Pie, which I ordered during my 2nd visit. Absolutely delicious! It consisted of scallops and shrimps (no squids - for those who doesn't eat these springy things) and every bite was divine!
I din even want to rush thru my meal, cos' I wan to take in every moment of every bite (prob much to the dismay of my 2 lunch companions)
! Fantastic, I tell ya! And even the mashed potato that came with it was GOOD!
It got bits inside that gave it a good texture!

There shall be a 3rd visit, and I must try that Duck Confit Pie!!!

Total Cost:
Carrot Cake (1 slice) - <$10
Strawberry Banana Smoothie - <$10
Creamy Seafood Pie - <$10

Was house hunting with a friend and as we were walking along the streets of Katong, there we spotted this cafe in the middle of the shop-houses sticking out like a fly in a glass of milk. Popped our heads in.. the place is empty! Awesome for us.. so we took a look at the menu, and we didn't know where to begin. I definitely needed a nice tall glass of iced coffee so i got myself the Hazelnut Latte. My friend took his time deciding which pie to stuff his face with. And as i waited for him.. i got myself a slice of Chicago Cheese Cake as well to go along with the iced coffee.

The staffs were really friendly and attentive. Really a great bunch of crew.

So eventually my friend decided on the Duck Confit Pie which looks super orgasmic.... Served warm, the crust were easy to cut through. The duck was alright, although i loved the mashed potatoes. My chicago Cheese cake however was not what i expected though but my dear friend here kept stuffing his face with it. He thought it tasted exactly like his mom's recipe. Good for him then. Its not cheesy enough for me but at least the cake wasn't flaky. It was smooth and silky in texture, goes well with my iced coffee.

I would definitely would want to make a return trip here. There's so much more to try.. i recall seeing Lamb Shank Pie ... Wagyu Beef Cheek Pie and Peach Pie!!!!!! Thankfully my friend, is moving right opposite the shophouses.. so more visits for us!
