Pique Nique is a lovely place to spend a leisurely afternoon, with the beautiful decor within the diner. The wide range of Western-based fare ensures you never get bored of their offerings too.I had a side of Petit Mac & Cheese to go along with my Classique Burger. Both were memorable. The Mac & Cheese was everything you could ask for in a Mac & Cheese, with macaroni baked in a cheese sauce with gruyere, parmesan and mozzarella. It was rich, chewy and extremely moreish. The burger was a classic beef one, with a sizable patty layered with cheddar, tomatoes, ketchup, lettuce, onions and mustard. It was a fairly large burger, and the ingredients worked well together. My main quibble would be the excessive amount of ketchup used, making the burger too sour for my liking. Apart from that, it was good. continue reading

Visited the new Pique Nique outlet at Jcube Like the casual 'outdoor' dining deco. There are trees and even grasslands in it lolx. Cute cup Broulash (did i remember it correctly?) fries.Thick potato strips with beef stew sauce and mayo! Classic egg ben.My must-try in every restaurant that has it So pretty~ Nice ooozing yolk!Too bad the entire thing was a tad too sourish though :/ Swisshrooms burger.Like the sautee mushrooms in it~ Chilli seafood spag. Cheese & mushrooms macaroni~Very cheesy! Me likes!Uhh, triple choco cheesecake? It's unlike usual cheesecake where we get very jerlat after having half of it.This taste good and light at the same time, that I can possibly finish the whole cake on my own!The family <3 *credit to pique nique's fb Take-away their macarons cos we were too full for any more desserts there and then. Flavours you definitely have to try: Red Velvet, Salted Caramel and Cookies & Cream with Mint! New branch at Jcube2 Jurong East Central 1 #01-08Singapore 609731 continue reading

Asked for recommendations and the lady recommended red velvet so we chose red velvet, blueberry cheese cake ($8.33) and chocorocco ($8.33) for takeaway. There was a buy 2 get 1 free promotion at that time so we took away the cakes as we couldn't finish all 3. When I got home, I realized that she had given me 2 (different) cheesecakes instead of the red velvet one that we wanted . Oh well, at least we did not pay the full price for 3 cakes. The blueberry cheese cake had a good balance of blueberry compote (which wasn't sour) and cheese. The cheesecake was creamy and not too sweet too. The chocolate cake had dark chocolate mousse in the sponge cake with hazelnut crisps which was rather nice. The dark chocolate was not at all bitter though and taste was between a dark and milk chocolate. The crisps were a fun addition to the soft texture of mousse and sponge cake. Overall, it is worth a try but I find their cakes rather expensive. continue reading

Pique Nique should be no stranger to cafe hoppers. Ever since with its first outlet appearing in Ngee Ann City, it had been known as a place for all-day breakfast and sweet treats. The outlet in jCube feels much more soothing with a huge tree located in the centre of the cafe, and the lush green carpeting of the patio-like space is a great setting for a nice “picnic”.I was craving for desserts that night and thus I opted for Chococheese cupcake ($4.80) - love the soft and creamy cheese and Strawberry cheesecake ($7.50) - people who don't really have a sweet tooth will definitely like this whereas my friend ordered the big breakfast ($15.80). Comes with baked beans with capsicums, sausage, bacon, toast, salad, choice of sunny side-up, poached or scrambled eggs and a complimenting orange juice or a cup of coffee. It was decent, but lacking the wow factor.I'd prefer dessert more than having brunches there. continue reading

I had dine in at pique nique before for their main dish and this time round i am back for their desserts.I have ordered whoopie pie and classic vanilla milkshake. The whoopie pie is good. soft and i love the flavor of the pie. Classic vailla milkshake on the other hand is quite average, it taste about the same as those usually serve in cafe. Overall, i think i will be back for the desserts rather than the main dish in future continue reading
