Tokyo Connection - $9.50

In layman terms, chicken meat burger. This tasted the best out of the 3 savory dishes.

A pity that we did not have a chance to try the desserts, which Pique Nique is more known of. Oh well, it's just like going to MacDonalds and order milk tea which is not the signature dish. I think I should re-visit Pique Nique to try their desserts which are so eye-feasting before I can give them a fair critic.

Waffle with caramel

Trying another taste of waffle by choosing salty caramel instead of normal maple syrup.
Crispy waffle with the ice cream topping was really comfort my tea time.
Thanks to the staff there for the recommendation of this nice waffle.

Yes, their interior decor leans heavily towards Victorian / French vintage styles - pretty Queen Anne chairs, brick walls and a sparkling white setting. It doesnt exactly look tacky, but the lackluster of lavish factor it is trying to replicate is noted - nonetheless, it was still comfortable and soothing to the eyes.

After browsing the tempting array of pastries at the shelves, I decided on a slice of Oreo Cheesecake. I am, and never was a cheesecake fan generally, but I don't mind trying certain flavored ones. The taste was quite alright - not too cheesey or creamy, and the aroma of Oreo's chocolately flavor was spot on. However, the cake was rock hard. No, the cake wasnt frozen and it wasnt an ice-cream cake. It was a very hard slice of cheesecake, so I spent a good portion of time stabbing my cake with my fork. By the time I finished half the slice, I was too tired to go on.

Pique Nique serves all day breakfast, burgers, spaghetti and dessert. This was my first time dining at Pique Nique. The restaurant provides a relaxed and cosy ambience. I decided to order a beef boloognese baked cheese pasta with tomato sauce and a poached egg on the top. Appearance wise, it looked really nice as it was served in a small pan. This dish was quite nice, however, i got quite sick of eating it after awhile, perhaps due to the 'too much of cheese taste' .

As I was craving for some macarons, the nearest I could find was pique nique and thus I decided to give them a try. I've ordered a few different flavours, lemon, strawberry, salted caramel, chocolate, peanut butter jelly and red velvet. Honestly, all these can't be compared to those at canele and TWG. The only two which I think are not bad at pique nique are chocolate and salted caramel, the rest are just mediocre. The shells are pretty stiff and it doesn't melt in your mouth. I would spend more

I was quite excited to visit pique nique at first but it turns out to be just a normal place for food. Tried their egg benedict and it wasn't really that fantastic. The dish is fairly priced however the quality of the food is just average. Their macarons are quite normal too. Desserts ought to be their niche, but it turned out to be disappointing. On the other hand, service was good. However, i'll think twice about visiting pique nique again.

A great cozy café to take a break after shopping, I had my own sweet time to settle down and enjoy. I like the lavish décor, pretty country-side theme of design. Menu was surprisingly extensive from appetizers, soups, main courses, snacks, beverages until desserts. I thought Pique Nique was only selling burger before going the place. Main dish for the bread was beef patty, filled up by aged chedder cheese, ketchup, tomato and shredded lettuce. Fries were crispy delightful, homemade slices of potatoes with just right saltiness. The combination was filling, although it looked lacking satisfaction. It was $12.80, maybe somebody will feel it a bit expensive yet the ingredient was guaranteed in finest quality.

Another thing to note is the service standards. My friend and I ordered a pot of tea to share but we only had one cup. When the staff noticed there were two of us and she got another cup for us. However when we were making payment, the cashiering staff were slow to respond. We had to make ourselves known by saying “excuse me” before the cashier stopped talking to the kitchen staff. Perhaps cause its mid-afternoon on a weekday and so there weren’t many patrons.

The food is good but the restaurant’s staffs have polar standards. Still I will return for the food and probably try out their desserts the next time!

I had roasted chicken and mushroom and mac cheese. Was disappointed initially when it was served to me in such a small vintage pan. I though i was cheated with my money but boy i was so wrong! When i started digging, i realized the pan was deep and there was a generous portion of roasted chicken. By the time i finish it, i was stuffed with cheese, mushroom and roasted chicken goodness!

What we regret ordering is the dessert recommended to us by the waiter - sticky dates pudding. It was way too sweet even for people like us with sweet tooth.

Looking through my list of dessert places to try, I decided to go with Pique Nique when I was going to Takashimaya. A fairly small branch compared to the one at JCube, it gave us a very quaint homely feel with a few scattered sofas and the brick walls. So obviously I ordered their Classic Benedict ($12) and my bf decided to go with The Big Breakfast Burger ($14). It was so delicious!!! I obsolutely love their eggs benedict – creamy, rich and oh so yummy. The burger was not bad also! We ordered some fries as it was looking so good over at the other table ;)

I’m sure I will head back to Pique Nique to try more of their dishes next time – all of their food on the menu looks so good. AND I LOVE THE EGGS BENEDICT. Good place for hangout with friends or a date, and definitely worth the price.

Was here for dinner after shopping around orchard. As i had a heavy lunch, i was looking for something light and so i had caesar salad. I like the sauce of the caesar salad. However, the roasted chicken could be more well marinated.

Settled for lunch here because Taka isn't home to many mid-range eateries - it's either high-end or the food court. For my main course, I had the Croque Madame. This is bascially a grilled cheese sandwich with egg and ham. It's not satisfying and it's something I would recommend only if you just need to fill that stomach of yours if the thought of pasta/rice is too much.

For dessert, I had the Sticky Date Pudding. I understand the rave (okay, mini-rave) about PN's desserts. Their sticky date is not too shabby, but they're extremely stingy with the caramel sauce. The pudding itself is also incredibly tiny. If you want sticky date pudding done completely right, try Prive's or Oriole's.

My first impression when I receive my meal was that the serving was way too little, given that it cost $18.80. I was expecting something much more but I was disappointed when I saw the spaghetti serving portion was little and there were only 4 meatballs.

When I tasted it, I felt it tasted slightly bland and not salty enough, unlike some other tomato spaghetti that I had tasted before.

I felt it could have been better if they can increase the serving portion for the spaghetti. Overall, I found the meal tasted average.

I also felt it could be good if their staffs could be a little bit more attentive as it took us quite a considerable effort to catch their attention so that they can come and take down our orders.
