Introduction
Plain Vanilla Bakery was borne out of an earnest desire for old-fashioned cake. The brains behind Plain Vanilla have taken it upon themselves to bring baking back to the basics - with childhood reminiscent flavours made from seasonal ingredients worthy of a home kitchen and expressing them in their baked goods. continue reading

Located at Holland Village, it may be easy to miss as there is no prominent signboard or signs that lead you to Plain Vanilla. It is located at the 2nd storey and there are no seats so it's a take and go thing. Some say this is even better than the popular Twelve Cupcakes so I decided to try it out! I had the red velvet flavour $3.50 and the earl grey lavender flavour $4. They were sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. My favourite has got to be the unique flavour of the earl grey lavender which had a somewhat floral hint. The cupcakes also had a good spongey texture. will go back to try their other flavours again continue reading

Due to the constant raves about the cupcakes from Plain Vanilla Bakery, it is always on my list of must-tries! However, the bakery is so far and inconvenient from where I live. Opportunit9y came when my friends decided to meet up at Holland Village! The bakery is located on the 2nd floor and I take away 2 cupcakes, Rose Pistachio and Chocolate Hazelnut. I wanted to try their Red Velvet but it was sold out. The Rose Pistachio cupcake looked so pretty and I was happy just looking at it. Taste-wise, the rose pretty much overpower the pistachio flavour. I can't resist not ordering a chocolate flavoured cupcake and so I got the Chocolate Hazelnut but the taste was forgettable. I feel that just two flavours is not enough to justify their cupcakes and so I will try the others next time! Most definitely have to give the red velvet one a try! continue reading

My friend surprised me with plain vanilla cupcake another day! was so happy as i always wanted to try the cupcakes there. These are the 4 flavors that i had - milk chocolate banana, Chocolate hazelnut, red velvet and strawberry white chocolate. My favorite will be red velvet! it is really yummy and is the best red velvet cupcake that i ever had. each cupcake cost $3.50 or $19 for 6 of them. pretty worth it for the quality.Next time i will like to try out the other flavors.. heard that the salted caramel is really good too. continue reading

I love cupcakes.. Couldn't resist them!Heard of Plain Vanilla through word of mouth. A colleague of mine raved about them countless of times! Makes me need to get my hand on one of them! And i eventually did.I bought the Violet Lemon, which is one of the special of that week, that cost only $3.50. I love how elegant the cupcake looks. If you could see it closely, there's a small petals on the buttercream. Sweetly scented, it's lemon cake with lemon curd in the centre. This cupcake make look elegant but it packs a zesty punch with every bite! I declare Plain Vanilla Bakery is THE go-to place for Cupcakes! continue reading

Get more reviews at http://thehungrybunnie.blogspot.comPlain Vanilla Bakery is a small-ish establishment that's made quite a splash in the cupcake business scene for churning out really good confectionery. Their cupcakes are dense and moist, with a nuanced sweetness that walks the tightrope between rich and delicate. It's great that they do deliveries too! Definitely an added bonus. Our favourites are the chocolate hazelnut and cookies and cream continue reading
