Located at Holland Village, it may be easy to miss as there is no prominent signboard or signs that lead you to Plain Vanilla. It is located at the 2nd storey and there are no seats so it's a take and go thing. Some say this is even better than the popular Twelve Cupcakes so I decided to try it out! Due to the constant raves about the cupcakes from Plain Vanilla Bakery, it is always on my list of must-tries! However, the bakery is so far and inconvenient from where I live. I can't resist not ordering a chocolate flavoured cupcake and so I got the Chocolate Hazelnut but the taste was forgettable. I feel that just two flavours is not enough to justify their cupcakes and so I will try the others next time! Most definitely have to give the red velvet one a try!

I managed to get to Plain Vanilla on a Saturday evening before their closing hours to satisfy my cupcake craving. Unfortunately, there were not many choices left near closing hours- the shop only had Salted Caramel and their special flavour of the day- Chai Tea. I wasn't very picky about the flavours and I did not particularly dislike those flavours, so I left with a box of four cupcakes, 2 of each flavour.Chai Tea- I was looking forward to trying this special flavour as I am a fan of chai tea.

Chai Tea- I was looking forward to trying this special flavour as I am a fan of chai tea. I wasn't disappointed. The "spicy" taste of chai tea was brought out with every bite. Salted Caramel- This has got to be my favourite cupcake flavour of this shop. The salted caramel frosting lives to its name, providing a burst of sweetness and saltiness of the sea salt caramel flavour and this went very well with the plain cake base. Some may argue that the cupcakes served here are pretty sweet; but I think these flavours are not exactly overly cloyingly sweet due to the right blend of other flavours!

I’m reminded to inform that her judgement is very much based on the definitive cakes at hummingbird bakery. these cupcakes were decent, if a little dry and icing a tad too soft when she got back – and bring it home you’ll have to, as this is a takeaway place with nary a bench.

good enough to return for – if in the area; apparently the twelve cupcake chain is marginally cheaper and much more convenient.

Plain vanilla cupcakes are in my opinion one of the best in Singapore! Unlike many other cupcake places where the cupcakes tend to be dry and rather tasteless, the ones here are always moist and really flavorful! The cupcakes are topped with generous swirls of icing, that is not too sweet nor overpowering. Especially good is the salted caramel one which has contrasting flavours that work really well together! The dollop of salted caramel on top is the icing on the cake!

Tried the cupcakes from plain vanilla for the first time. I got a box of two cupcakes consisting a salted caramel cupcake and a red velvet one. The red velvet was my favorite being super moist and fluffy with a hint of chocolate flavour with the most delicious and smooth cream cheese frosting on top! The whole combination was a great delight to eat plus it was so pretty that I almost could not bear to eat it!

Recently, there has been a craze over PV cupcakes. After listening to the many positive feedbacks, I decided that I should have a try at these cupcakes too. It is located at Holland Village just beside the El Patio Mexican Restaurant.

I decided to buy half a dozen to have a try at the cupcakes. Of course, Red Velvet is a must-try for me. The cupcakes are priced at $3.50 for one, and $19 for 6. Some flavours that attracted me were the Banana Chocolate cupcake and the Strawberry Cream cupcake.

Personally, I feel that Plain Vanilla has one of the best cupcakes in Singapore. Of course, there are many rising cupcake stores nowadays. I think most of us are familiar with Twelve Cupcakes but why not have a try at PV?

This bakery has been underappreciated - the cupcakes are done to perfection! I love their Red Velvet cupcake as the cupcake is moist and soft, cream cheese frosting is not too sweet or sour-ish. They have other general cataloge flavours, such as chocolate, hazelnut and coffee. On different occasions, the bakery cooks up limited edition flavours, which makes the shop much more interesting than selling the same usual flavours (i.e. Twelve Cupcakes). They sell cupcakes in sets of 2, 4 or 6. They sell cupcakes in sets of 2, 4 or 6. Personally, I think each cupcake is pricey. But if it is for the occasional pampering, I think this is quite worth it.

The entrance to shop is VERY small, but when you enter the shop (its just a shop front with no seating available), you can smell the fresh baking goodness right at the doorstep. The decor is very old-school as well!

We got these cupcakes for a friend's 18th birthday. The candles you see atop the cupcakes are our own. The flavours we got are salted caramel, red velvet, Cookies and Cream, chocolate hazelnut, Dark Chocolate Ganache (slightly too bitter imo) and cinammon. My favourite has got to be the Red Velvet flavour. I love the smoothness and sweetness of the cream cheese topping. They cost $19 for 6.

Plain vanilla has some of the best cupcakes available in singapore! Normally cupcake are very dry and one dimensional tasting with way too much overly sweet icing on top. However cupcakes here are always moist and tasty, and especially for the salted caramel cupcakes, the contrasting salty and sweet icing really complements the moist sponge! My favorite cupcake place!

Bite-sized american carrot cake! I like how it tasted exactly like an american carrot cake, the icing was a tad too sweet for this cupcake, but overall, i like how it's moist and.. fluffy! Haha!

This cupcake would be perfect for those who are a little health conscious! Cheat by telling yourself that there's a little banana at the side to indulge in this guilty pleasure!
I love how the icing on this cupcake was consistent and matched the banana nicely.

I didn't let this one although it seemed to be quite a unique flavour. Actually, I dont really like dark chocolate to start with, so a little bias here. However, dark chocolate lovers would definitely love this one as it is authentic-ly bitter enough!
