Date : 2012-11-13Time of visit : 8.20pmWhat/Where : Poh Kee Wanton Mee @ Bedok Interchange Food CentreWhat we had : Wanton MeeAverage cost/pax : $2.50Ambience : Crowded/noisy. This place has always been the same since I first stepped here in the 90s.This place has provided hundreds of residents in the area their daily meals and take-aways.Old drunk uncles chit chatting happily away with their pals and the hawkers themselves. Some may find this place a little "dirty" but it's more because of the lack of "manpower" to clean it up as people come, dine, and go real quick. It's quite hot at times just like the other hawker centres.Service : Prompt delivery upon payment.Portion : Portion is reasonable for price. Soup was light tasting , but the dumpling wasn't great as it's too "flour-y" tasting. I requested my wanton mee to have ketchup. I'm not sure if it's my request of the ketchup sauce, but the noodles was kind of "sticky/slimey". (usually it tastes fine when I eat at other wanton mee stalls.) So the whole thing didn't work as well as I expected when the bar was set higher from the awards listed on display. It also be one of those popular cases where the stall standard drops after it's been featured on mag/tv etc.Location : It's at Bedok Interchange. Super convenient. As of the current date , the area is under heavy renovation especially the car park. I believe they're building new bigger ones. So there's limited lots. What's good in particular : No comments. What's bad in particular : No comments.ABiteOfEverything.com continue reading
