We googled a (relatively) new Thai BBQ/steamboat place along East Coast called Mookata and decided to check it out. “Mookata” means pork BBQ – the boys were excited and looking forward to a meat fest. Like the idea of charcoal grill food that you can't really find now in singapore. Located in the heart of Katong, I think this coffee shop used to be a school tuck shop. But now it's the perfect venue for a alfresco dinning experience. Expect some smoke due to the charcoal cooking your food. It's a coffee shop setting so drinks are all standard priced. They also have live telecast of EPL matches. So not bad for football fans. You can order a combo set from their menu, combo A for 2 to 3 pax and B for 3 to 4 pax. I think my is combo A which I bought from streetdeal. My friend complain that it is a wasting of his time, because he don’t like the concept of this steamboat, no soup and no taste. However, I think it is fine with me.

I went to Poh Poh Mookata with my girlfriend. we love barbeque food. Their concept is the grill and soup is the same pot just that the grill is elevated and the soup is at the bottom surrounding the grill. We simply love their pork belly. It is marinated with garlic, making it very fragrant. The soup is also very tasty, not too salty. As a whole it was really filling and delicious!
