If you love your curry puffs to be spicy, I will recommend the curry puff from Polar puffs. The curry puff filling is one of the spicier ones that I have ever had and the filling is basically chicken meat with diced onions cooked in curry paste/spices. The only downside is that the chicken meat is far too minced and there is no bite to it. Otherwise, it would score higher points on taste. continue reading

Was given this Valentine's cake by my friend for my birthday as it falls on the same day and I must say I was pretty impressed by the taste and texture of the cake! Never really had a good impression of Polar puffs cakes because tried it once many years ago and didn't like it but this tasted not bad. If you're a fan of chocolate mousse and nuts, this cake is the one to try. The mousse isn't as airy as most mousse cakes out there and have a really rich taste yet bubbly enough texture. Thick layer of chocolate on the top of the cake complements the whole texture very well. Worth a try although it is rather pricey for a small piece of cake. continue reading

We brought a cake for Kah Soon 26th Birthday during our Reunion dinner. We decided to buy decent Black Forest for him because he like chocolate very much. Polar was our final decision. It was a Chocolate Sponge Cake layered with chocolate fresh cream and topped with Strawberries. The price for a Regular Black Forrest was $23.80. Unfortunely, the cake was melted when the time we cut it.It considered a surprise, February was his actual birthday. Still, he was so happy when he saw the cake. continue reading

Polar's chicken pies are one of the more popular flavours and each costs around 2 dollars. The crust is a little crispy and I would encourage you to lightly heat up the pie before consumption as it taste a lot better. The pie is not too large in size and hence perfect for a daytime snack. The pie is stuffed with chicken, potatoes, bits of carrots and in general taste pleasing. the chicken is not too salty and is generally still pleasant to eat though not the best I have eaten continue reading

Time to order those X'mas cakes! Today they had lots of cakes on display - probably it's the weekend and also closer to X'mas. Their X'mas cakes are very small. Mini ones. I'm not a fan of their X'mas cakes. I prefer their normal sponge fruit cakes and I'll even stick to those for X'mas. Reasonable pricing. Not sure about the service. The staff are constantly chatting or gossiping. The sponge cakes come in small and medium sizes so you don't have to get a huge one. They have other snacks like pies, which are actually very good! There's also swiss rolls and other little cakes. And cartoon cakes as well. continue reading
