For more reviews, visit http://www.umakemehungry.com/2014/04/pondok-makan-indonesia.htmlThe plates and plates of Gado Gado as well as Tahu Goreng caught my eyes as the helper of Pondok Makan Indonesia served these Indonesian dishes to their customers.Gado Gado, the Indonesia style of salad is make up of boiled vegetables, eggs, beansprouts, potatoes and mixed in the aromatic peanuts gravy. It comes with 2 sizes and the bigger portion would cost $4.Peanut gravy had adequately filled the smaller portion of Gado Gado topped with some pieces of prawn crackers. The crackers had a very strong stench from the prawns which may not be acceptable by some of us.For its taste, I felt that overall it did give me a flashback of what I had in Batam sometimes back. I'm glad that it did not taste too much of our localized Gado Gado which usually had a stronger and sweeter taste. continue reading

There's 1 whole stretch of malay food stalls here and surprisingly to see an Indonesian food stall among the malay food stalls. Wonder what's the difference?! Since i've never tried Indonesian food before, i decided to give it a shot. The stall assistant welcome me with a smile, ask for my order and request me to take a seat and she will serve me. Such good service and in fact, not many stall assistants in hawker center would greet you with a smile. The tauhu is well deep fried, it has a nice shade of golden brown and its crispy. Unlike the normal tauhu goreng we usually had, it's not serve with cucumber but lettuce instead. The sauce play a crucial role....it's not sour nor sweet nor spicy nor nutty. Hmm... taste average only. I've always love mee soto or bee hoon soto and this time round, i've requested for mixture. Hmm... very healthy with lots of beansprouts, soup taste bland and not oily. small serving which cost $3.00. Not worth it! lolz... continue reading
