For me, this Pontian stall is a little substandard than other Pontian stalls that I frequent (eg. Far East Plaza, West Malll)... why? There are only two fried wontons for this, and usually there are four wontons. :/ The veggies were also drier than other veggies. The noodles and the sauce were alright, I think. Just not as good as other places. The stallholders were really friendly though, they seemed to know their regular patrons really well - one man went up and said "The usual that I order" and the stallholder immediately knows. I always find such good memory impressive. Quiet and clean environment. continue reading

I am a fan of Pontian Wanton Mee but their standard can be quite inconsistent across their many stalls island wide. I tried this stall for the first time and liked it. The noodle was cooked nicely to the right texture, it was neither too soft nor too hard. It served with both the fried and the soup wantons and both tasted good. The taste of char siew was a bit towards the sweet side but it tasted just right. It served with some vegetable too. continue reading

I like the wanton mee at this stall. the noodles is very springy. Some wanton mee, you eat half way the noodles turn soggy but this stall’s noodles remained springy all the way. The char siew were sliced pretty thickly. However they did not taste very tough. I like the black sauce they add to the noodles. It is not too oily and not too salty. when you dip the char siew into the sauce, it taste even nicer. continue reading

The wanton mee at this outlet is not as tasty as the jurong point one. it is probably because they did not use lard to cook their wanton mee. In a way it is a good thing as it is less fattening. I found their soup not as tasty too, the jurong point soup had this sweetish taste but this one is purely savoury. The fried wanton is really crispy, they have mayo for you to add to your fried wanton. As a whole it is pretty good. continue reading
