I think Popeyes have the most tastiest chicken tenders among all other fast food restaurants who had this. It is moist, so moist that you will not be thirsty from the dryness of the chicken meat after eating. They pledged their meat to be not frozen before fried, and I think they honor to that pledge. It does not have the 'frozen' taste at all and it taste fresh. Have not try their fried chicken parts yet, maybe one day I will give it a try, provided I am ok for not having my favorite chicken tenders! continue reading

Did not really try the chicken from Popeyes before and we decided to take on the cashier recommendation to get the rip and chicke'n promotion set.It is actually something like a buddy meal. With 3 piece chicken which is quite big in size, fries, two drinks and a mash potato. The set came with a special dipper that tastes a little like sour cream? I'm not sure what the sauce is but it is really nice to have it with the fries and chicken ;DIt is quite salty though, but that helps to spice up the taste of the chicken and fries. The chicken is simple and plain. It is crispy on the outer and the meat is white and tender. The taste of the meat is not very strong, a little salty and fragrant. It goes pretty well with the sauce ;DEven for the chicken breast meat, it is quite soft and tender too. As for the fries, really like it a lot as the flavour is rich and tasty ;DIt has the taste of potato and also a nice fragrant taste that penetrates deep within the fries.Love it a lot ^^The mash potato is nice too ;DThe gravy isn't simply just gravy but accompanied with other herbs/vegetable ingredients. It gives a more unique and peppery taste. The portion is really quite a lot for two girls. We got really full and there are still some leftovers, really worth it for the price of $12.80 a set. continue reading

Had a light lunch at Popeye's - Louisiana Pepper Nuggets & Mashed Potato. The fried chicken here definitely beats that of KFC flat (the latter often having a powdery texture), and the Cajun Fries is out of the world! This time round, I thought I attempt something different. The much-raved-about Mashed Potato is really something to rave about! There are little bits in it, which enhanced the overall texture of the food (they could explore including ham bits in it! That would be awesome! ) The gravy was so delicious that I would order another one, if not for the calories. The Pepper Nuggets, on the other hand, was not worth it. They seemed like that of McDonalds Popcorn Chicken, which I always felt were odds and ends, and someone brilliantly came up with this name idea not to waste these parts. The Nuggets were simply smaller chunks of chicken. Didn't really like it. Would be more satisfied eating Chicken Tenders. There was a sauce that accompanied this dish. Not sure what it was but it has a sour taste to it. I'd rather have Thousand Island sauce (BYO).On a busy weekend, the outlet only has 1 counter. At the time of my order, I can only see 3 staff - 1 cashier, 1 server & 1 fryer. I really salute the cashier (Judith, I think) and the server (Wina, I think). They were really flexible in their roles - covered each other and took on additional duties such as clearing tables and even did the frying (fryer guy was obviously oblivious to the customer queue and disappeared at times)! I was fairly surprised to see that only 3 staff were manning an outlet on a weekend, and it did catered for more patience from me in the queue. However, I later saw 4 other staff appearing from behind, and doing practically NOTHING in the back scene (1 was even standing in front of the fan to cool off!). Bloody bummers! Notwithstanding having to wait unnecessarily for my food, I will still give credit for the food in Popeyes. However, I don't think I will visit this outlet again, lest my blood boil from witnessing bummers! Total Cost: Louisiana Pepper Nuggets - $4.70 (6 pcs)Mashed Potato - $2.50, or add on to a combo meal for $1.50 continue reading

I recently went to Popeyes for lunch with a friend, I looked at their impressive menu & then, I ordered for a fish burger, corn & mashed potato for sides. T fish burger is a rectangular diamond shaped one, the bread is really soft, the fish fillet is so crispy from outside & well cooked & juicy inside. I thought it was a very good fish burger. It had some jalapeños, tomatoes, onions & tarter sauce inside. The corn & mash potato were normal, nothing great. But the Popeyes Fish burger was the best!!!!! continue reading
