As a large family, we ordered almost every dish they had. I must say that I would only recommend their laksa strongly. The ok dishes are:* chicken rice* laksa fried rice* prawn noodle* Soft shell crab with Chilli CrabThe please-don't-order dish was Mee Siam! It's weird tasting! It was so weird that we just left it untouched. The meal turned out to be not too satisfying and also not cheap! I probably won't return again, maybe for a single bowl of laksa?

Prima Branding has been going steady and strong offering Singapore's cuisine through its convenient method all these years. With its innovative readily packed pastes and premixes sold island wide in convenience stalls illustrated with idiot proof cooking steps, they were well-liked by all. Today, they are very successful and Prima is hardly a stranger to any local.

Design and furnishings of the restaurants were vibrant and young, installed with linear tracks lights and strong spinning ceiling fans in the air conditioned environment. Ambiance was cosy and patrons can enjoy the live demonstrations of chefs cooking through the showcase kitchen. Just beside the cash register counter, Prima had allocated a booth whereby one can buy their premixes and pastes, including noodles. A few tourists were seen grabbing some of the packs off the shelves after trying out the Signature's Cuisine at the stall, I guess they must have given a few nods to the taste of Prima Kitchen's delicacies.

Not only was Prima innovative in their pre-packed pastes and mixes, they did it again with a twist through their serving menu. Just with a cost as low as $9.50, one get to enjoy 3 sampler bowls of our local cuisine. Available in 6 kinds of dishes, we had them all ordered for our dinner. Dishes were as follows:
(1) Mee Rebus
(2) Prawn Mee
(3) Laksa
(4) Satay Bee Hoon
(5) Mee Siam
(6) Hainanese Chicken Rice

Sampler bowls were rather small and its portions reminded me of those bowls of noodles bought during my Primary School Days in the Tuckshop. One can easily finished the bowl of noodles in 3-5 mouths.

Alright, my dinner is here. Look at the wide spread of local cuisines on our table! I would highly recommended this place if you have a guest from abroad. Do let them have a one stop taste of Singapore's Delights in Prima!

Mee Rebus, a traditional malay dish featuring noodles served with a rich sweet and spicy sauce, topped off with bean curd cubes, egg and prawns. Black sauce and vegetables were also added to further enhance the taste.

Prawn Mee was excellent especially when its stock tasted full of prawn flavours. They must have spent long hours cooking the prawns heads and shells to obtain such a rich taste.

Laksa served with rice noodles, prawns, fish cake, cockles and Tau pok. The gravy was rich and lends a thick creamy texture packed with coconut fragrant,if this style floats your boat.

Prima had never failed to disappoint - With a generous portion of Satay Sauce drenched over the strands of fine bee hoon on my sampler bowl. This scrumptious dish was also served traditionally with pig's liver, lean meat and prawn. Yums!

Mee Siam tasted traditional and refreshing. Bee Hoon was served in a tangy sweet-sour tamarind gravy in an assortment of garnishes as well as sambal chilli. Overall, featuring an authentic Singapore Dish!

The popiah took sometime to be prepared. The rolled was wrapped and filled tightly with shredded turnips, slices of eggs, prawns and vegetables. The reddish spread of chilli could be easily seen through the translucent Popiah skin roll which looked orangy under the lights. Moist enough and the only letdown I had was that it lacked the crunch from the turnips as they were finely cut, a bigger shred will make it better.

Lychee Sensation? What's that? Preparations of the drink was rather straight forward. It's a mixture of lychee in its syrup together with sour plum in the drink. The unique taste was supported by the big plum that had drowned in the drink. Sweet, Sour and Salty. Perfect!

The friendly and jovious server had spoken on behalf, "Singapore's Best Chendol" he mentioned. I couldnt agree more. Sweetened with Gula Melaka, ingredients were plentiful. Do leave a space in your stomach after your meal for this!

Total amount summed up to be $34.15. As a local, I would say every sample bowls of Cuisine rock my socks off! Factoring that its a sample bowl, the ingredients were never compromised and quality was definitely there. Worth it!

Prima Taste Restaurant is situated at a secluded corner of Centrepoint. You must know how to weave your way to get there. I had the 3-in-1 variety dish which I can select from the local delights menu. I had satay bee hoon, prawn mee and chicken rice. Don't be mistaken by the small portion in each bowl. After eating 3 servings of 3 types of food, I was filled to the brim. I think this is a really good idea to combine 3 different dish into one. Good to try it out.

My family members had curry chicken with rice as well as hokkien noodles.

Will be back here again for meals when I am shopping at Orchard Road~

It was mid day snack time & I spotted Prima Deli, so decided to pick up a snack from there. So I picked up a cheesy stick. It is a long bread stick baked with grated cheese over it. I never expected to be sweet, but there was sugar sprinkled on it. But it was nice, mildly sweet & cheesy. It was fresh as well. I enjoyed it along with my evening cup of tea. I have tried stuff from Prima Deli before & I like their stuff. The chessy stick costed about 1.5 $. I did not try any other stuff from Prima

I don't remember seeing such large serving size of Chendol in food centres though. The first thing that caught my attention was the gula melaka. I stared at it in horror at the gooey pile resting comfortably, taking its desired shape across the ice. No way I wanted so much sugar intake that day! Besides that, the sight of those beans disgusted me as I am not really a fan of them. Worse still, now that they had got bigger. After mixing all up, as expected it was too sweet. I could not stand the sweetness and requested for more ice. With the extra shaved ice, the taste was just awesome. Fragrant from the gula melaka and coconut milk, chunky from the grass jelly and the green worm-like jelly made from rice flour. Not that I am fussy, but having too much jelly really irritated me as the drink should be the priority.

Mention Prima Taste and many of us will know the popular local brand that offers the very best of Singapore's much loved dishes through ready-to-cook pastes and premixes. Building on the success of Prima Taste ready-to-cook pastes and premixes, Prima Taste created the Prima Taste concept restaurant to serve 'True Singapore Cuisine'.

Located conveniently at level one of The Centrepoint at Orchard Road, Prima Taste Kitchen is a quick-serve restaurant which showcases Singapore food as well as variety and authentic good taste of Prima Taste products. The restaurant features sleek furnishings and a modern ambience accented with Singapore scenes and icons. Diners can also enjoy 'live' cooking demonstrations through the showcase kitchen.

For the food tasting session, I was introduced to some of the signature local favourites that is available on Prima Taste Kitchen menu. First up, I tried the handrolled Popiah filled with refreshing shredded vegetables, bamboo shoot, minced pork and mushroom, prawn and egg slices. I disliked Popiah that is wet and messy to eat with. Thumbs up to Prima Taste Kitchen, the fresh Popiah skin although thin can be easily picked up without the ingredients falling apart. I also noticed the Popiah is very popular with diners. Almost every table ordered it.

Next I get to try the Rojak. I was quite surprised that Prima Taste has their own sauce mix for making the Rojak. The Rojak sauce mix was really good! It tasted as good as some of the Rojak stalls or even better. These stalls can probably consider buying the Rojak sauce mix from Prima Taste instead.

Hainanese Chicken Rice is one of the signature dishes at Prima Taste Kitchen. The poached chicken was very tender and came with a thin jelly like skin. The chicken-flavoured rice was not oily and very fragrant. It also came with a medley of chilli, ginger and black soya sauces to further enhance the dish.

Laksa is my favourite local dish and I have high expectation when I tried the Laksa here. The Laksa has a rich and spicy coconut gravy which did not disappoint me. It is served with rice noodles, prawns, fish cake, cockles and tau pok. The rice noodles can also be purchased at the restaurant if you intend to cook some Laksa at home.

For a good bowl of Prawn Mee it is all down to the soup that makes the different. It must have the prawny taste and flavour from hours of brewing the prawn shells. How did the Prima Taste mix fare? Excellent! The soup was really very flavourful with the prawny taste.

Guess what? The Prima Taste Prawn Mee mix is also used to prepare the Fried Hokkien Mee dish! I thought that was pretty cool. Getting a pack of Prawn Mee mix and you can cook two different Singapore local dishes out of it. I really enjoyed the semi wet version of the Fried Hokkien Mee that infused with the prawny broth.

Many of my work associates from Greater China love to get the Bak Kut Teh Prima Taste mix whenever they are in town. Now they can sample both the dish and purchase the product at the same location. The Teochew style Bak Kut Teh has very tender pork ribs which came of the bone easily. The peppery soup came with a mild herbal taste which was a nice balance not overpowering each other. Personally I would prefer it to be more peppery.

The Curry Chicken has a rich and creamy gravy. However it lacked the spiciness that I was looking for. Anyway it is just a personally preference. The dish also came with white rice but you can request for the chicken-flavoured rice. The curry goes very well with either rice.

For those that has a sweet tooth, you can also check out the desserts on their menu. The Grass Jelly with Longan in Gula Melaka was a bit pedestrian but a refreshing dessert after a hot day shopping at Orchard Road. The Chendol on the other hand was a beautiful dessert with its sweet and strong flavours coming from the Gula Melaka and coconut milk. It would make the drink smoother if the shaved ice could be finer.

The Almond Pudding with Longan is a must try. I would have gone for more if not for all the earlier food tasting dishes. The balance in the almond flavours, neither too strong or light and with the right firmness in texture made it a very enjoyable dessert.

The Prima Taste ready-to-cook pastes and premixes are readily available for purchase at Prima Taste Kitchen. Regular and big users can save considerably through their party packs which is ONLY available at the outlet or online. In addition, certain popular products like Bak Chor Mee and Lor Mee are only available in party packs.

If you want to pick up some cooking skills and tips using Prima Taste pastes and products, you can check out Prima Taste's cooking workshop.

Overwhelmed by all the delicious dishes at Prima Taste Kitchen? Here is a tip for you. You can go for their Tea Time Special promotion between Mon to Friday from 230pm to 530pm where you can try the different dishes in sampling portions that would not hurt your pocket and stomach.

Laksa from Prima Taste never disappoint me. The gravy is not too spicy and the coconut milk used in making the gravy is very fragrant and thick. Love the thick rice noodles which are very smooth and chewy. The prawns, cockles, sliced fish cakes, beansprouts used in the laksa are very fresh too. Not to forget their signature chilli paste which uses their in house recipe and ingredients to make it. It is quite spicy and not really suitable for those who cannot take too spicy food.

we were surprised by the quality of laksa. i think the concept is to let you taste what it would taste like to make your own laksa with their bring home packs. anyway, there was lots and lots of cockles in this laksa. the spice was perfect and the coconut was very very fresh. the noodles were perfect as well. wish there was more ingredients like a few vegetables or something. but other wise the taste is actually quite fantastic. highly recommended.

We wanted something simple and budget, and at the same time steer away from the usual food court.

We finally decided to settle for Prima Taste Kitchen, which is humbly located at the far corner of Centrepoint.

If you've gone to the supermarket often enough, you might have already noticed the whole range of Prima packet pastes on the shelves.

Well, this casual dining place not only sells their Prima packet pastes, they also serve an entire menu of local cuisines made from the same specialty pastes.

We looked through the menu and the price range is about $5 onwards. We all ordered the laksa, which is $5.50 for a standard bowl and $8.00 if you want cockles and chicken added.

The laksa was good, but i felt the flavour could have been slightly stronger. They were generous with the cockles, but unfortunately, I can't say the same for the chicken and fishcake and laksa leaves.

I would recommend this place if you want some local food, away from the hustle & bustle of the crowd.
