Locating the restaurant may be a little tricky as a miss in a turn will make you go a big round to locate it. Since its located within Prima's premises, parking lots are rather limited. However, valet services are provided for diner, thus one do not have to get stress out of parking lots.

Once entering the lobby area, diners have to take the lift up followed by a flight of winding stairs to reach the 11th floor then escalator. Interior is in line with the old school traditional vibe with rosewood furnishing, fish tank, round tables with lazy Suzy and square tables. Atmosphere is like tuning into a time machine, going back in time into 1980s.

The entire one round of revolution takes about an hour and of course the best seats are by the side of the windows offering a panoramic view to the surroundings to the PSA and Sentosa Island.

Shredded Scallops with Fish & Egg White is one of Prima Tower's Signatures. The dish was served with ingredients segregated, thereafter the server will perform the mixture of egg, egg white, fish and scallops in front of us.

Despite of the dish name in Mandarin that mentioned crab, there was no sign of crab as an ingredient. The combination of ingredients blend well into one another which is sweet and delighting to our palates, very suitable to start off our meals like this. To enjoy this starting dish, add some black vinegar and pepper for taste.

2nd dish on the menu was Fish Maw and Seafood in Thick Soup. Similar to the 1st Dish, we added vinegar and pepper for taste. The serving is prepared in personal potand the thick soup too, was fresh and refreshing.

Glistering Peking Duck will be parked by a side on a trolley waiting to be carved by the skillful waitress / waiter. If you are wondering where does the rest of the meat gone to after having its skin encased in the egg wrap. Well, the meat can be used as ingredients for other dishes such as fried rice.

Soon Hock Fish was served in Teochew style with light and tasty broth. The meat was tender and topped with garnishing like coriander and chilli stripes.

Another dish that struck me by surprise will be their stewed pork ribs that was served separately with buns. In Dialect, Hokkien language, we called this "Kong Bak" where by this braised meat was sandwich in between the pieces of fluffy buns. In this case, its more of pull pork. The meat was fork tender and easily fell off with little force asserted.

These pork meat was very flavorful in its generous serving of braised sauce with a few stalks of coriander to enhance its taste. Having said that, the pork was not greasy at all.

The buns that come in a set with the Stewed Pork are fluffy and looked different from the usual "flat pouches" kind of bun we had from else where. Instead, these came in shapes and had some lines patterns on the surface.

An ending surprise with souffle balls encased with red bean stuffing. Even though it was fried, exterior was not greasy and amazingly soft. Initially we thought desserts was fish balls but the skin was soft, taste of egg white and chewy.

Comparing to the Teochew Style Steamed Fish in the earlier visit, it seems like the cohort prefers this! Fish meat was portion out into the best equal sizes. The batter was soft, light and meat was tender.

Once the lift doors open, you'll see framed medals of their Manager and Executive Chef, Mr Chan Sung Og.

Escalator brings to you up to the restaurant.

As I go up the escalator, this is the sight I saw outside the window.

Go right up this stairs to reach the restaurant.

We were seated here, where we saw vivocity! But in a bit, that'll change as the restaurant practically keeps turning.

I ate alot today! Let's see... first up: appetisers + century egg porridge with fried crackers!

I felt the pickled vegetables had a strong taste and the peanuts were too dry.

Porridge was so-so and the crackers were already going soft (lao-hong).
What I liked about the porridge was that it contained alot of shredded meat.

Here's the char-siew sou, aka the Barbequed pork puffs. They added pork floss on top of the puffs so it had added flavor to it. This dish was well done and if you come here, I will recommend you to try this.

Here's the inside of the puff. I would order it again when I'm back.

Marinated chicken feet or Feng Zhao. I love this dish, but not here. This dish was done quite dry and I'm not used to eating Feng zhao so dry. The sauce, however, was very good, but I still felt it was too little.

Xiao long bao aka soup dumplings. Well, I don't recommend you try this as there's super little soup in it. By the time it was served to us, it wasn't piping hot already and I felt it's wrong to serve xiao long baos when they start turning cold. The skin of the dumpling I ate already became dry and hard.

Steamed spareribs with yam cake. This was a palatable dish as they were generous with the meat and the steamed flavour of the yam infused quite well with the meat. Definitely recommended.

And how can we forget to order the usuals - Char Siew Pau (Barbequed pork bun), pan fried carrot cake (lor bak ko) and Prawn Siew Mai?

While the char siew pau and the prawn siew mai were good, I didn't enjoy the carrot cake as much, it was too hard and also served when it was turning cold.

I went to Prima on National Day 14, to celebrate my mum in law’s birthday. I regret to say that this is the worse experience we ever had.

Prima recommended the National Day Set, which costs me $550+ after GST. The menu includes a lobster salad, Peking duck, shark fin, broccoli with abalone, steam fish, noodle, and chrysanthemum cake. Although the ingredients used are quite generous, I found that the menu still lacked something.

Lobster salad:
My mother-in-law thought that the lobster salad tasted more like chicken salad. My bro in-law thought it was pork salad. We ended up eating the beans and vegetable of the salad instead of the lobster. I am 100% sure the lobster is way overcooked.

Peking duck:
Instead of a crispy duck skin and juicy duck meat, the duck skin I had was dry without any oil. It tasted harder than an over-barbecued pork slice. I think they pre-cooked it in the afternoon, and microwave it at night.

Shark fin:
Rather tasteless – no doubt every bowl has a lot of shark fin, but the soap had no other taste.

Broccoli with Abalone:
Broccoli is not cooked. We only ate the abalone.

Noodle:
Ok, but it is as good as the coffee-shop standard. I think is a new cook.

Chrysanthemum cake:
This is the best of the day, but I think they prepared beforehand.

I am not sure if they got temporary cooks, but the standard is worse than any coffee shop I been to. I saw the chef cook came up around 8.30pm, I think must have lots of complaints.

Actually I like this restaurant before this incident, I go there twice a month for dim sum, it is good. But I will recommend against going during festival season, or occasions when they do mass cooking.

So, it was the annual Mother's Day cum Mother's birthday celebratory dinner, and this year, the chosen venue was Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant. The reason why I chose this restaurant was because of its interesting revolving concept, thus offering sweeping views and taking panoramic scenes to another level altogether. The other reason is because this place was where my mother brought my grandmother to eat at, 30 years ago too, when my maternal grandmother was still alive.
The first item arrived - Shredded Scallops with Fish and Egg White (medium, SGD$45.00) - it looked different from the photo I saw online at their website, but we were assured that it was the very same one. We were encouraged to add vinegar to it, so we gave it a shot. The dish was tasty with the sapid flavor of egg white and sweetness of scallops and fish. It was an interesting item, cooked to be something that tasted like, say, dry shark's fin soup or dry fish maw soup kind of taste. We liked it.
Next up, we had the Authentic Peking Duck (SGD$65.00) - oh well, the skin portion first. It was very crispy and tasty - and we loved the egg-flavored flour skin it came with for the wrap. There was black sweet bean paste sauce, cucumber slices and spring onion stalks served together for the wrap too.
After quite a while, we finally got to see and taste the rest of the duck. It was so tender, I couldn't help having 2 - 3 pieces because the flesh nearly melted in one's mouth. The taste was light but the aroma of fresh duck meat was eminent. This was a keeper for sure.
Finally, we ended the meal with Fried Ee-fu Noodles (small, SGD$20.00) - this one contained ingredients such as chives, chicken strips, mushrooms and beansprouts. The noodles was quite tasty, but somehow it lacked the deliciousness of ee-fu noodles served during some wedding banquets. Something missing?

There was nothing to shout about with regards to the interior of the restaurant. However, the revolving of the entire restaurant gave the dining experience a novelty. Don't worry, it spins really slowly (one round takes 45 mins) so most of you shouldn't notice a thing

We ordered a number of dishes:

Century Egg Porridge
This was really yummy! I have high expectations for century egg porridge and this bowl satisfied me
You know how some porridge consists of just porridge and the ingredients and all the flavours have not merged together so the porridge is just really plain? Theirs is the opposite! The porridge was really smooth and had absorbed all the flavours of the meat and century egg after hours of boiling. SUPER comforting!

Shredded Scallops with Fish & Egg White
I've never heard of this before but this was one of the recommended dishes hence we ordered it. The Chinese name for this dish is called 赛螃蟹, which means mock crab. When this dish was served, you could see the bowl filled with lots of egg white, some fish and shredded scallops with a raw yolk in the middle. The waitress will then proceed to mix it all up and scoop into the individual bowls. Who would have guessed that a combination of egg white, fish and scallops can REALLY give you the taste and texture of crab meat!! Trust me, I was really amazed at how similar it tasted. This dish is really superb.

Peking Duck
This was their signature dish hence we ordered it too. They helped us to wrap the peking duck skin so it was really convenient for us. However, this dish really failed our expectations. It was really dry and tasteless. Don't know how come this can be their signature dish

Can't remember the name of this dish but basically it was Asparagus wrapped in fish meat and then fried. This taste ok, nothing to shout about.

We ended off our lunch with Toffee Banana, also highly recommended by the staff. This dessert was 'made' at your table - the waitress would come out with some fried banana chunks and toffee sauce and a big bowl of ice water. First, she’ll coat the banana pieces in the toffee sauce, then proceed to dunk it into the bowl of ice water and ensure that they are fully immersed in the water. By doing this, the ice water actually hardens the toffee sauce so what you get are some lovely banana coated in toffee! This is pretty innovative and fun to watch. The dish itself was also yummy, but those who don’t have a sweet tooth might find it a little too sweet.

Overall, the prices are kinda steep but the revolving part was interesting and some of the dishes were really yummy and not easily found in other places. Definitely worth a try!

yeah it's SO expensive, but so totally worth every bite ;) each crisp piece of skin, enveloped lovingly in a smooth egg skin wrap, encased with a piece of spring onion for a refreshing flavour, and dipped in the delicious hoisin sauce. i can't stop raving about it xD it's just absolutely delicious!!!!

since the peking duck dish only makes use of the skin, you can have a choice of what to do with the remaining duck meat. we chose to have it cooked with ee fu noodies (at additional cost)
yummm

i can't remember what was the name of the vegetable we had
but it was beautifully done - simple and healthy, nicely steamed in a tasty broth

finally, we had the red bean pancake ($20 small) for dessert. but this was slightly different from our favourite kind! it was a flourier, slightly spongy version, rather than crispy. not really suited to our tastes, but i appreciated the generous amount of red bean paste within.

It was a last-minute decision to have a Mother's day celebration dinner here. Since we have overseas family members here, we decided to bring them here to experience the "revolving restaurant" concept as well. Heh, we have not tried this place ourselves either, though we are aware it has been here for a really long time. When we called to make the booking, we were told it's fully booked but they could still squeeze in a table for us. However, through the night, there were only a few tables occupied in the whole restaurant. Although that probably worked in our favor as the wait staff were particularly attentive and prompt in their service for our table.

We were a group of 8 adults and a child. There was another set menu available for 8 pax, but we decided on the special mother's day set menu for 10 pax $498++ instead as we felt it was more worth it due to the lobster/abalone/sea cucumber offered. Besides, there's also a complimentary bottle of red wine. In the end, we could still finish all our food (my nephew's a big eater too).

The first dish of shredded scallops with fish & egg white was really yummy. Loved the texture and fragrance of this dish which was rather exquisitely done I must say. Plenty of shredded scallops were given

The Fish Maw & Seafood in Thick soup (not pictured) was pretty good as well, with plenty of fish maw and fresh pieces of crab meat within a tasty broth.

I was looking forward to the peking duck here, as I've read that it's one of their signature dishes. Unfortunately, the peking duck was over-roasted resulting in the skin being too dry. I've definitely had much better peking duck elsewhere. A bit of a let-down for this dish.

The deep-fried garoupa had no bones which was really convenient hehe. The fish was lightly fried thus the meat within was still moist and tender with a crispy coating. The accompanying salt & pepper dip did not add much to the taste of the fish. Luckily there was another sweet-and-sour sauce dip as well, which was a much better choice to dip the fish pieces in.

The chili lobster was just like a chili crab dish but the crab replaced with pieces of lobster. The lobster given was plentiful and fresh. One of the nicer dishes as well. If you like, you can order fried mantou for dipping into the sauce - but we felt we had a lot of food already, so we declined the waitress' suggestion.

There were 10 pieces of braised abalone which tasted pretty good. BUT the sea cucumber were tasteless! You can tell that it has been poached in water only and definitely not braised together with the abalone. Perhaps the quality of the sea cucumber offered were not of a good quality - which should be able to be braised for a long period of time without disintegrating or becoming soft too fast.

The sauteed noodles were also rather tasteless. In fact, we had to resort to spooning the chili crab sauce over our noodles to make it more palatable.

- Sauteed noodle with shredded duck meat

Thankfully, the dessert was good. The souffle egg white balls were fragrant. Even though it's deep fried, it was not very oily. The red bean stuffing inside also had the right level of sweetness to it and was smooth and tasty.

- Souffle balls with read bean stuffing

Generally, the food here has its hits and misses. It's more of the experience of the revolving restaurant and the views outside. The building itself is quite old already and the lobby has an "old, musty" smell to it. But once you enter the restaurant, the interior and views outside are still quite fine. Dining here is pretty expensive though. Bill came up to around $620 in the end.

Chanced upon this restaurant on Facebook Homepage while I was researching of where to go for Mother's Day.. My family prefers Chinese food to anything else and besides the few Chinese flagship restaurant like Din Tai Fung, Crystal Jade in Singapore, I do not know of other alternatives.

This Mother's Day is special because of the location which is at a revolving restaurant. None of us has been there before.
All of us were so eager to visit and experience dining in a revolving restaurant, overseeing the Sentosa Island, cable cars and PSA Port.

The place was rather inaccessible unless you are driving there. If not, I will suggest going to VivoCity and take a cab there. The exterior of the building was not appealing like those grand hotels which are situated along Orchard Road. There are 2 lifts to bring us up the restaurant. It was rather slow, considering if this restaurant is to be used to hold a wedding banquet. Nonetheless, it didnt spoil our excitement. Taking the lift to the 9th floor, then a long escalator, then a red carpetted spiral staircase and finally we reached the restaurant. There were already many people having their meals. Good business!

Our lunch set consists of the following dishes

Red bean pancake! WOW it is served warm, yummy!

The food is delicious and of the appropriate portion of all 10 of us. However, the service staff is rather unresponsive to our requests in refilling tea, changing of plates etc. I guessed they are short-handed. I will suggest that they assigned staffs to certain tables in order to improve their customer service.

The first dish was the Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Shredded Chicken. It comes separately with two bowls and like any other chinese restaurant we can have the "free play" to add the suitable amount of vinegar and pepper up to one's preference. Loves the shredded chicken which comes on top of the bowl. However when it was being served, careless waitress dropped some shredded chicken onto the table.

Braised Whole Abalone with Broccoli was awesome. It comes with 3 kinds on a plate, a big black mushroom that was actually sliced 3/4 to its bottom, a big hard abalone and a piece of broccoli. The mushroom smells good and was easily manageable whereas for the abalone, i have to cut into small chunks and chew them as it was not that soft as I think.

I love the Steamed Cod Fish with Minced Garlic, the sauce/gravy was superb! It comes in a plate and was carefully divided by the waitress into 2 bowls. Cod fish was fresh and together with the sauce and Chinese parsley, it makes another good dish out of the set meal!

Double-boiled Hashima with Red Dates is the last dish as desserts. Served chill or warm as per customer's preference. It's definitely heavenly treat to oneself after a perfect chinese dinning!

Service
Service is somehow scary, I dont like the idea of staff "staring" at customers while they were enjoying the meal and having waitress/waiter giggling among themselves. Moreover, when we were being served, the waitress let out a loud sigh! This is definitely a no no when you work in a F&B industry.

The experience during our drive in was somehow different. We were greeted by heavy vehicles in the surroundings - it makes me seems like going to some factories or warehouses. The kind of "out of place" feeling. Luckily, they have a valet service and ensure that our vehicle is secured.

Ambience
A panaromic view of our PSA with restaurant revolving. Well, I can feel the restaurant is moving. It's easily noticeable.

I like the way I'm welcome by the spiral stairsways and red carpet up one level to the restaurant after reaching the 9th storey high by the lift. And in their toilet, we get one bird eye view of the PSA too.

Price
Considering a fine Chinese cuisine and its environment, I will say it is worth the money spent!

Recommendation / Tips
Since it is quite a quiet place, it will be good to sit and relax, just dine slowly and enjoy life. Maybe ask the staff stop staring at us will make everything perfect.

Try not to look on the floor if you have motion sickness.
There are great rooms for improvement for their staff's working style and attitude.

Dinner at Prima Towers Revolving Restaurant at Keppel Road. I read from Hungrygowhere that the food has varying standards, but fortunately during my visit the food was yummy.

The attraction of the restaurant is that is revolves 360 degrees. Diners can enjoy the surrounding view. But as you can see from my picture, the surrounding view is not that fantastic, only the part where you can see Sentosa is nice. Most of the time we could only view containers, roads and cars…

It was a busy weekend night for the restaurant, service was painfully slow.

We had dinner at Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant - One of the two revolving restaurants in Singapore, with the other being Top of the M. Established in 1977 and perched on top of a grain silo, Prima can almost be considered a landmark in the Harbourfront area. The lone lift in the silo lobby drops you off on the 9th floor and the remaining 2 floors will have to be covered on foot through a winding staircase. What greets you is an excellent all rounded view of the surrounding areas. Although Prima only stands at 11 floors high, it doesn't seem to be dwarfed by Top of the M, which is on the 39th floor (Its probably just perception, but I wouldn't know). The rotating mechanism is also noticeably much smoother than Top of the M's.

Starting off was their famous Shredded Scallop with Fish & Egg White. Flavourful yet light on the taste buds with a delightful tinge of fishiness, the texture was just right and nothing short of wonderful. No doubt about it, this is truly a signature dish of Prima. The Minced Beancurd & Vegetables in Thick Soup fell a bit flat though. Although interesting presented in a bed of white and green, it was rather bland and reminded me of eating mashed up beancurd without any seasoning or sauce.

Steamed Soon Hock, a very difficult dish to master. First of all, the Soon Hock must be very fresh and it mustn't be steamed over too big a fire or for too long. The Steamed Soon Hock met neither criteria. The fish wasn't very fresh and the flesh was a little too soft from steaming the fish for too long. Still decent, but disappointing to say the least. Following up was the Authentic Barbecued Peking Duck. This was probably one of the best dishes that night. Slightly crispy skin with fats beneath it and wrapped in egg skin, it was appetizing and not too heavy. However, it is nowhere in comparison to Min Jiang @ One North's superb rendition.

The Fried Prawn Balls with Spring Onion & Ginger was forgettable. Sure the prawns were fresh and coated in a light batter before frying, but that was about it. It tasted as its name suggests, fried prawn balls. When it comes to the worst dish of the day, the Sauteed Vegetables with Cream probably takes the cake. The vegetables were soggy and the sweet cream was really quite a misfit with the vegetables, especially when the dish had quite a bit of water in it.

The Fried Ee Fu Noodles with Shredded Duck came across as a little too heavy and I had the urge to puke everything out after a small bowl of it. Taste wise, it was merely average and could have done better by adding a little more salted vegetables in. Wrapping up was the Herbal Jelly. I'm rather neutral about Herbal Jelly because those that I've tried so far tasted more or less the same to me. This one was no exception, but they could have been more generous with the syrup because it wasn't enough to go around.

An unsatisfying dinner for 8 set us back by >$400++, which is rather expensive considering the average quality of food and the SLOW service (we had to wait for almost 1.5 hrs for our dishes and it would have been longer if we had not reminded the staff constantly. Being packed is no excuse for the long wait I feel, especially when I see alot of the wait staff walking around leisurely). Only the Shredded Scallop with Fish & Egg White stood out but it is enough to make me go back if I do develop a craving for it.

We started the dinner with fish. I am particularly a fish lover and I find dish a little soggy for my taste. It's the sauce that was poured into the dish that causes the sogginess. For those who like soggy fish, this is a good try.

The deep fried pork rib is great. The batter wasn't too thick so you can still taste the ribs. Good to be eaten once it's served so that the crispiness will still be there.

Authentic barbequed Peking duck is the star of the night. It came wrapped up so you don't have to dirty your hands to do the wrapping. A dish of sauce is provided for those who wanted more sauce.

Kong Bak Pau are chinese braised pork slices wrapped in those floury wraps of a pau. The kong bak pau at prima tower is outstanding. I'm not a big fan of pork because of the thick layer of fats and the pork smell. However, the braised pork at prima tower was well-prepared and it doesn't have that much fats. There was no unpleasant pork smell either. The sauce went perfect with the pork. The wrap, although looks thick, was actually pretty thin. Its very soft on the inside and I didn't get sick of

This is the first time I had Beijing Duck. Seen it in TV shows hundreds of times and it is indeed as good as they described. The skin is very crispy and the meat is so juicy and can be sliced off so easily. Its great when eaten alone or when wrapped in the..skin (?). The beijing duck goes well with the skin when dipped in the sauce. Do try both methods of eating it and decide which is your favourite!

I decided to dine at the restaurant well-known for its design to revolve. The fried fish was really good. It wasn't over fried to the extent that the meat of the fish was dry. It was still moist and the slightly fried skin went well with it. It didn't come with, neither did it needed any sauce. It is perfect to go with rice. I highly recommend it!
