Known for its fluffiness and soft waffles, primaDeli's waffles had been selling hot like pancakes ever since they were there. Everytime as you walk pass the shop, the aroma smell from the hot steaming iron cast (pancake maker) seeps out and goes directly into our nose. This fragrance simply catches hold of our stomach and its so irresistible. Ordered a plain and one with peanut butter at $1.30 and $1.50 respectively. My plain waffle has a hole as shown. The peanut waffles are spread on one side and flipped over. Peanut are more towards a watery side which is good.ServiceThe lady has to multitask - watching over the 4-5 waffle casts and collecting payments. Service is moderate. I have always loved Prima Deli's waffle as it is very tasty. The waffle is sometimes crispy or soft. Nonetheless, the taste is still good.The lady is very generous with the amount of chocolate she spreads in the waffle. There is always a long queue at Prima Deli for their waffles. You can smell the fragrance of the waffles as you walk past the shop. However, the long queue had always deterred me from trying. That day, there was quite a short queue and I was hungry, so I queued up for waffles! I ordered peanut buttered waffle. The waffle was freshly made and hot when I received it. It was still crisp and was evenly cooked, unlike some places where they reheat the already made waffle before serving you and there are uneven cooked parts. I've tried Prima Deli's fruit tarts and it was terrible but I thought it was because I kept it in my refrigerator for too long so I decided to give it a try again. Unfortunately, it wasn't the problem with the freshness. It is bad. The crust breaks apart upon contact with anything, making it extremely hard to eat the fruit tart neatly. The whipped cream was tasteless. The fruits are relatively juicy and sweet this time round and although the overall tart for all 3 flavours wasn't good, I liked the combination of logans and strawberries on a tart. I've never seen that before so it was a fresh flavour. However, the kiwi was too sour and I couldn't stand it. They are selling 6 fruit tarts for $4.20. I love fruit tarts and peach fruit tarts in particular are my favourite. I decided to give Prima Deli's peach fruit tart a try. The crust was tasteless and shatters upon contact with anything, really. I tried getting the tart out of the cup using my teeth and then my hands and they both didn't work. I had to just bend the cup to push it out. Additionally, although there's a thick layer of whipped cream, the whipped cream was hardly sweet and has an unpleasant cream smell. Prima Deli's Kaya waffle costs only $1.50 and is normally served piping hot. Its crispy and moist, unlike many waffles that tend to be dry and soft. The Kaya is sweet..in fact a little too sweet for my liking but people who enjoy sweet Kaya would probably like it. It is perfect for a snack or for breakfast along with a beverage. Prima Deli at Jurong Point always has a long queue of people waiting to buy their waffles. In fact, it is undoubtedly one of the best waffles I have ever tried. Although their waffles generally cost higher, it is totally worth it. The store has a high turnover so normally waffles are served right out of the toaster. When hot, the waffles have a very crispy outer layer and soft and moist inner layer. The flour taste is not too overwhelming. The chocolate flavour is my favourite although you can order for a plain waffle too. The chocolate melts on the hot surface of the waffle and has a nice chocolate taste. I think prima deli is really good and successful. Everything in the shop just taste awesome. The waffle and bread, though the prices go up and up, the quality is worth it.
