I always loved Prima Deli's cakes. Their cakes never disappoint me. So far I have tried most of their range of cakes and I find that their fruit cakes are one of the best that you can get at the price range of $25-$35. Their fruits are always fresh and the amount given is always a lot. This is the Mixed Fruit cake that I had gotten sometime ago. The cake is larger than the normal ones I got because this time, more people are having the cake. This 1kg cake costs $39.80. The exterior of the cake is a light coating of white chocolate. The cake is quite tall and there are a total of 3 layers of cake in the interior, and each layer of cake is separated by cream and fruit cocktail. The sponge cake is moist and soft and the layers of cream are not too excessive so the taste was not too heavy. In addition, the fruit cocktails add a different dimension of taste to the cake. Prima Deli's cakes are still the ones that I will buy anytime whenever there is a special occasion that requires cakes. continue reading

The only thing I would go for is the waffles there. Unlike those waffles you find in traditional bakeries, Prima Deli waffles are freshly made and they just pour the batter (there's something about their batter) onto the waffle maker itself without applying any layer of oil.If you're one that prefers your waffle to be crisper, you could just tell the staff to leave your waffle longer in the pan. If not, it would usually be more to the softer leaving a bit of crispiness on the edges.Usually I would take chocolate waffles or plain waffles, other flavours don't suit my taste, either too sweet or I would find the combination weird, unless you're one that really like sweet stuffs, it'll suit you best. Flavours available include: Blueberry, Strawberry, Chocolate, Kaya, Cheese, Coconut. continue reading

Today Nana got a cake to celebrate little JJ's another month old birthday.Peach & Longan Delight ($28.90/ standard size)The cake is beautifully displayed with huges pieces of longan, peach and kiwi on top. Looks so yummy. Under the fruits, it is vanilla sponge, with diced longan filling and vanilla fresh cream. The four sides of the cake are covered with corn rice, which tastes very nice and unique as I can seldom find it on cakes. Overall tastes very soft and fresh. continue reading

I would say that the curry puff filling is pretty nice. The only thing I don't quite like is the crust, which can be rather thick and bland. It is the filling that saves the day. The other thing is that I find that the curry puff isn't spicy enough, it's sort of less spicy than the old chang kee ones. So if you prefer curry puffs that are not too spicy, try Prima Deli's. continue reading

The chicken pie at Prima Deli has always been yummy! I think over the years, the filling has been decreasing though. The crust of the chicken pie is the type that I like, not too flaky nor layered nor too buttery. I hope that the filling doesn't keep get lesser. It's the combination of the crust and chicken filling that makes this pie yummy. Currently it costs $1.70 so it's just right for a tea time snack and it's something I buy often for my colleagues cos Prima Deli is halal so all of us can eat. continue reading
